    Kill Traders

Are the kill traders in a pvp zone? Yes! Then you are open game my friend! I won't argue about gaming communities or cheating. Simple, are you in a pvp zone? You are actually asking your enemy in the game to leave you alone in a pvp zone? Honey, go back to rune scape. Otherwise, you really sound ridiculous! Oh please Mr. Sith, don't hurt me, I just want my dailies. Bottom line, I understand the mechanics are broken, and that why folks do it. Hey it's their 14 bucks right? Well, it's mine too. And I choose to play the game as intended as broken as it is. If your there kill trading, well sorry. Find another game to ruin. UPDATE: for the most part Nemesis has stopped the KT on our server and they actually got some decent pvp going given the mechanics of the game. Folks on the fleet in general chat are thrilled. It was getting really bad.
  2. Then there are always the kill traders......

Let's hope so my friend. Although rolling back valor is a dream. Most likely they will create a new system that basically puts all folks back to square one. So the only difference will be skill. They should have addressed this at the onset, but because of population issues, that opened another can of worms. I joined nemesis, they are a fun group of folks that just love pvp. In their mind, it's simple, you stand in a pvp zone and your of the other faction, your free game. Keep it simple, and let BioWare worry about it. Yes, they stop kill trading because it's the right things to do, but mostly because it's fun! these people really get their feathers ruffled when nemesis breaks them up! We have had some great pvp as a result, but the repubs just give up. Lazy gaming in my opinion and poor design by BioWare, mostly the latter.

The opposite is true on my server Space Slug. I spoke with one repub and he said he had 4 battlemasters. Not all geared, but 4! Number one it's insane to me that you could have 4 level 50's, but the fact that they are all BM's from kill trading is amazing. He said the average time was about a week to get te BMW title. He did feel dirty though! I don't even really know if he was telling the truth, but I do know that I pvp'd my toon the entire way other than story quests. My play time is limited, but I am very familiar with those names that play pvp on my server. I see folks that have hit 50 and in 7-8 days they are Battlemaster. I know folks say its just a title, however I am not convinced the gear doesn't make a difference as some have argued. With the new patch coming, I am curious how BM titles will affect gear. Time will tell I suppose. Looking forward to some of the changes, and let's remember folks, the game is roughly 2 months old. I can forgive BioWare for some of the issues with the game, but to not address this Kill Trading issue using exploits such as /stuck, well that may be a game changer for some folks. If the pvp issues are not dealt with by guild wars launch, I will probably switch until they do fix it. I love every other aspect of this game! The pve content is spot on, minus a few minor bugs. What disturbs me most is some of the guilds and community attitudes towards kill trading. Some are actively for it and against it, and some are indifferent. I guess the old gamers such as myself miss the days of grouping up to kill a group of folks in a pvp zone because they ganked a guildie. We didn't need valor or gear, it was just fun! alliances were made, rivalries were made, it was just fun. I am still holding out hope BioWare will fix it, as I love the game as a whole!

We do honestly pretty well in illum, our 8 man has taken out 20 or so fairly quickly, it's when we are in war zones alone that it becomes an issue. We are an adult guild and not as intense into gaming as some, although many of us wish we still could! So I hear what your saying work as a team and you should be good. I, unfortunately, can't always do that. I don't know, Kill Trading just seems dirty to me. Lol. Maybe I'm setting myself up there!

While again initially I agreed with you. The title didn't do anything until you add the gear. Now they are getting gear. One or two pieces, no biggy. Fully geared, yeah it's a problem. Whether I'm bad or not isn't really the issue, although I by no means claim to be a great player. And yes we can kill them eventually when organized in a premade. If I'm pugging it, forget about it. Yeah I hear ya! Don't pug! They generally are poorer players as well, only because they haven't practiced.
  7. This is an actual guild web page that states its opinion on the front page of their website! "It seems in every game there are those who like to tell others how to play and what you need to do. On the friendly level it might be something helpful like tweaking a spec or modifying rotation to help a player become more effective. On the heavy handed negative side there are players who try to enforce the rules as they interpret them without due regard to the fact that we all pay our own subscription fees, and no one player's fifteen dollars is worth more than anothers. Lately there have been instances where players have taken it upon themselves to try to police Illum and prevent kill-trading. Personally, I don't have a problem with trading. If a player wants to spend their time trading deaths with another player go for it. It is not currently listed as an exploit by Bioware and does not seem to violate the EULA in any way. In fact, it could be ruled in the same way Bioware answered a question about dancing and running around warzones without actually trying to accomplish objectives, the player is at their keyboard playing, just not the same as everyone else. Even though the player is chosing not to engage in passing the huttball, or killing enemy players, they are still playing in the match. Now, it does suck when this happens, but technically they are not doing anything wrong. Illum as a PVP zone is FUBAR, Bioware admits that the current design is flawed and continues to address the problem. The funny thing about kill trading is that the players are in fact still engaged in PVP, though more along the lines of a turn based game. Are players fighting players? yes. Are players being killed? Yes. Sounds like PVP, they are just taking turns playing vice acting simultaneously. All of that being said, I encourage our AT members to play as you like. If you enjoy it, then do it. I would ask though that we do not join the players who have decided to be the no-fun police and answer with anything which would bring discredit to the guild. Tools will be tools, and the server knows where the tools are currently kept." This quoted from Aeternis Tenebris' website. The front page! Mind blowing they even bother playing an MMO with this type of mentality! No team or community feeling, just do what is best for you. I left this guild for several issues, but their lack of team atmosphere was the main. That being said, the general attitude on the server is starting to turn. If BioWare shuts things down, fixes it, we may be rocking! This kill trading is actually weeding out some of the selfish players, or at least that's my hope at the end of the day!
  8. I'd take anything over the KillTrading going on in our server. Search forums for kill trading....I put up a post about it. I won't bore you with the details, but bottom line, they should shut it down entirely until all the issues are addressed.

That was my thought initially, but now they are getting geared. Didn't see a problem until now, now we are getting crushed. We don't have enough dps to kill them. They just walk around unstoppable. BioWare is killing the pvp with not taking a stand on this.

    Kill Traders

Okay, I'm going there, what's up with KillTrading. Initially I didn't have an issue with it, but now I do. On our server SpaceSlug, there are more emps than repubs. As a result of the KT, all the repubs are now Battlemaster and getting gear. So why are the emps doing it again? We are now getting crushed in PvP because we are not Battlemaster because we didn't cheat! This is a pvp zone not a hippy convention. Some guilds have taken it upon themselves to break up the KT and now folks are complaining about them! Are you serious? Yeah I get it that everyone can play the way they want using their own 14 bucks a month, at least that's the excuse they give. Well those guilds that are breaking it up, its their 14 bucks too. So until BioWare decides to fix this, I support the real pvpers. Not the babies running around complaining they can't cheat because guilds are breaking it up. Here is an example of the whining...from the guild Aeternis Tenebris by Scriveah..this was posted on the front page of their website. It's amazing to me he even tries to defend his position! "It seems in every game there are those who like to tell others how to play and what you need to do. 11. Are there any plans to deal with the issue of Kill Trading in Illum?
  12. ...oh good Lord...get over yourself already!
