4 seconds or 5 seconds either way you're going to put an attack into the mara before you realize it's up and stun then wait for it to drop while he's CC'ed and finish it off. The mara will have it up somewhere between 1.25-2 seconds before the stun so you should be good!

they get hidden strike which is spike + maul then backstab using those one after another is just as good as a maul>maul. Only difference is we can keep using our 1 out of stealth.

You KB them both then low slash the low HP one and run around like an idiot? Nope that's not spammable. Oh and on top of it all it has a positional requirement on it. So learn to strafe properly and stop keyboard turning. Maul is fine.
