  1. Merc Healer LF Raid guild on week nights. Quit in 1.2, have been playing for around a month again. Have done EV/KP NMM Some HM EC Haven't raided much since starting again because of lack of guildies. buffed: 730bheal 42%crit 80%surge 9%alac (61/63 gear) I am in Vancouver so preferably Pacific Northwest but seeing how this is an east server it doesn't matter .. Just weekdays (pref not friday or sat, maybe sunday)
  2. Because they are full of nonsense and whining, and one more thread going to the top never hurt anyone.
  3. Firstly I enjoy this game, a lot, and am disappointed in your (biowares) late updates and incomplete features. But that doesn't really matter there are more pressing things. 1) Merge low pop servers. Its easy to do and will bring life back into the game for those players. Almost all of my guild quit when 1.2 was delayed and there are no new people to recruit (at least none that can run NMM ops with us). We need more people to enjoy this game 2) Flashpoint Finder. Noone is grouping to do flashpoints, same thing happened in lower pop rift servers when it came out. They created a LFG and all of a sudden there were people doing dungeons. All you need to do is lock class gear to classes, with an alt roll button with lower priority. For token drops you could easily check players gear and only allow them to roll if they do not have it (not perfect, but it is an idea to stop ninja looters which in my opinion very rarely happen, at least in my experience) 3) Cross server PVP (and flashpoint finder). The cross server pvp should already be out. This is more of a problem with our low pop servers (which would be helped by merging) but would also be good for ranked pvp when there are not enough 8 man groups to enjoy it. The flashpoint finder might not NEED to be cross server, but it does make sense to consider it after data and feedback comes back. There are a lot of other things like itemization / legacy / whatever, but the previous issues need to be looked at soon because no one wants to play an empty MMO. Eventually the real fans will either re-roll (happening now) on large servers or quit. Re-rolling will lead to a couple full servers and the rest laying dormant, not good for business. I don't want to quit, but when there is nothing to do but craft and dailies (unless you already have all the needed gear like me) there is no point in playing.
  4. As a pve healer Alacrity is a must. Smart rotations and not spamming buttons + alacrity is way better than stacking surge.
  5. Pre 1.2 I had done all NMM ops, I did not feel overpowered but in 8 mans me and the sorc (who have played together in other games) did very well together. Post 1.2 I can still heal everything I used to be able to, the only difference is when I weave in spot heals during massive OP damage I can not sustain low heat and will fail. Conclusion: Mercs are still great healers with a slightly lower heal output. They still cant AOE heal and are unable to manage heat in large OP heal situations. Like before, a merc needs to be paired with a sorc to manage healing op healing in all situations. Namely SOA when you drop down the "stairs". (we run fast and it's really hard to heal everyone though I'm sure it's possible with two capable mercs/ops) Another tip, a lot of people say alacrity isn't as good because of heat management. They are not healing to their potential. Don't spam buttons and play smart, you NEED fast heals. Crit/surge is great, but it won't help you in a pinch by adding ~500 to a heal.
  6. First: We SHOULD be comparing swtor NOW to WoW NOW (if we are comparing them at all feature wise) Just like a new website should have the same features better then its existing competitors. A new car should be compared with other new cars even if the manufacturer is newer. Second: Bioware JUST released this. They have set a precedent of being late and unfinished. So we CAN expect this to get better. The game is good, their terrible updates (not releasing 1.2 features -ranked / cross pvp - with 1.2, being late, ect.) are making it less good. Bioware needs to fire the highest up manager of operations and communications and start releasing expected updates on time. People will stop quitting and complaining if they talk to us, and release what they say they will.
  7. The sorcs *should* have a higher HPS then us, as we focus more on single target. I am finding that in most fights where the op/grp is organized healing is just as easy, but any mistake and lots of damage to the op kills heat way to fast and leaves us useless. Kolto missile is not beast imo, what above said about it still hitting wrong people renders it mainly useless. I think there should be a skill that reduces CD of vent heat, that would counter massive aoe heat gains while still keeping out heals as they are now (since they want to balance pve and pvp..) In pvp I average around 100k less healing, mainly because I die 10x faster now. If left 'unchecked' I can still help, but most groups are smarter then that and just insta kill me. We definitely need a revamp on pvp.
  8. As a merc bg done all raids nmm pre 1.2 i can say We can still heal everything, we just cant aoe heal (like before but way worse now). In FP's, dpsers have t not be lazy and actually move out of dmg, in raids, well we don't do most of the aoe healing anyways. Basically my heat is on average 20% higher and my output is around 10% less (cant confirm no pre logs, but basically the more people youre healing the lower your output) They really need to add something to allow us to ACTUALLY aoe heal, or reduce the heat so we can manage. In pvp, well I just get faceowned over and over and average 100k less heals per match.
  9. Yeah Rift was smart though, they at least merged their servers very soon after launch. That along with LFG made it so you could actually get groups when guildies were offline. Cross server may not be required (but I am definitely for it), but merging low pop servers IS required. 15 people max on the fleet at any point in time is just a waste of hardware.
  10. To bad we can't compare HPS pre 1.2 to after. No wonder they didn't want to include a log. My guilds been farming both NMM, and on at least 4 of the fights I know I will not be able to heal with any increase to heat (not hard fights just way to much raid damage). Losing the kolto buff is bad enough. Disclaimer: I cant test it in 1.2 so that is an educated guess.
  11. I agree with you that it is easy to heal, but not easy enough on NMM with a BH to make these changes. I will have to play it before I make any final statements, but there seems to be no reason to bring a BH now. Atleast before I could easily keep tanks up and spot heal players when they needed it. Oh, and making it harder on healers WILL NOT make dpsers pay more attention to avoiding damage. It just simply wont. Not to mention lots of the raid damage is unavoidable. All they need to do is introduce the new ops with more mechanics, not nerf healing to make it harder. I'm pretty sure the changes were made with PVP in mind, since most players who QQ only pvp.
  12. nerfing healers doesnt make gameplay harder, it doesn't make the raids harder. It makes the healers job harder. Making a raid harder shouldn't come down to healers. Mechanics are needed, not nerfs to healing. And yes, you do need healer coordination especially in nmm because even the sorc is running our of force when huge raid damage occurs and a merc will go 100% healing 3 people not to mention the tank damage. -- I'm only talking about a couple bosses. Most are so easy these changes won't really matter. But if 1 class cant heal all of the bosses they can't go.
  13. I was talking about HM vs NMM not 8 vs 16man. in 8 mans you always need a sorc for AOE, now you might need 2.
  14. No, I was trolling there. But damage taken goes way up, and raid damage becomes insane and only sorcs can really do anything (even moreso if these changes are made, I really don't want to have to gear up my sorc)
  15. I stopped reading op when he said he hasn't done NMM. Now, being a THEORETICAL mathematician, I can tell you that it does not take actually playing the game to do the math and see that Merc changes are enough to tip the heat scales and make me useless in most situations. I'm not quitting, whining or anything else, I'm just saying the changes are bad.
  16. In NMM raids I was already out of heat most fights (which is fine, just requires people to be on the ball). With the changes I wont be able to heal. I just hope they make some more modifications.
  17. I have a 50 merc healer as my main. Ive done all nmm. I was already almmost 100% heat an entire fight now its going to be more brutal. I don't care about PVP, but even when I do I have 5 people on me at all times and Im walways the only healer. I was nowhere near OP even if it did take a maurader and good stuns/ints to kil me. These updates make Merc healers useless. Thanks for ruining this class. NOTE: This could all change, but going by the notes we are broken.
  18. How many of you actually heal NMM as merc? This is going to destroy it. I'm not the best healer, but I think I am pretty good, and on some fights I have to heal so many people it's impossible to stay low heat. This just ruined NMM for merc healers. Thanks Bioware, go to hell.
  19. Obviously there is an exploit and they have to do it asap...
  20. napeh

    red goo

go outside and mine for some gold K THANKS
  21. you paid for a starter crystal.. I guess if I bought a truck 5 years ago I shouldn't have to pay for a new one right? If you know what actually communism is you'd know that is what OP and everyone saying they should get it for free are. tldr QQ noobs its capitalism
  22. Don't know why you are being sarcastic. The system is random, and is working as intended for pretty much everyone else out there. I've done all the content in all the modes and drops have been consistently random.
  23. Im a merc healer and I can handle up to 6 bad dpsers solo. one good player can destroy me though, luckily most people are bad (especially without parsers to tell them their rotations are useless)
  24. It's because they would need to code a whole new player type to show armor, and have different models for armor. Yoda is short. I don't know why they didn't code this seeing as how most games have gnomes/dwarves, but that is the reason.
  25. Your wrong first of all, you say 64 bit programs don't run faster... Putting more data on ram does make a program run faster. Second, the 32bit 4gb ram barrier includes VRAM.
