  1. They provided a link here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force_sight The easiest explanation for their using holos is to communicate... Holo communicators fortunately aren't just used for visuals and Miralukas never seemed to have any hearing difficulties. The fact that they're transmitting images may just be comfort for the other party so take assessment of a situation. As for computers, I'm sure some rep will stop by to tell us about some new old technology that transmits what is on screen directly into the ear of some Miraluka (perhaps by an earpiece we can't see thusfar) and their keen sense allows them to type on basic boards.
  2. We just have a load of control options...I noticed that when I play as my Jedi Knight, the only ones to really take me down are the Sorcerers. I consider that to be, not only humbling, but balancing.
  3. A few of your suggestions that I've thought about myself after playing... Agreed. Having a primarily centric zoom/zoom-out has hindered my screenshots quite a bit. It is a stupid thing, but I'd love to see it happen. I've often wondered why this didn't just simply go into the upper-right "Pending Mission Rewards" area. I'm especially annoyed when this happens and I'm selling things on the GTN. You're able to do that, so long as you know what it is you're searching for...Find the category, search, type name, enter. Voila! My addition to this would be a strong update (not just to the GTN, but crafting and buying from vendors) is that the Sort By/Show Only [usable By Me] actually chooses the things you can use effectively. Thusfar if I have Heavy Armor skills, it shows me every single piece of equipment there is. Which of course coincides with your merchant complaint. I believe that could be a fairly handy, if not simply cosmetic, option. This is one of the few bugs I've experienced in game to actually cause me grief. I noticed they didn't stack, so I began manually stacking them. I can't remember exactly how many were in the stack, but I went over the limit I now know to be 50. As a result, upon my next log-in, the entire stack was gone from my cargo hold. Having something to restrict the player from stacking over 50 or simply auto-stacking upong right clicking would be a saviour. I would love to see a change to the icons for daily missions that I've already completed. Many times I've flown over a triangle and ran back to it thinking, "Yes! I found a new mission!" only to realise midway through dialogue that it was one I completed many a moon ago. Additional colours/icons to show instance missions or completed daily missions would be nice. There is, indeed, a notification for this. It can be found as a buff to the right of your character portrait, opposite all of your current buffers, near the divide. =) It's a count-down timer that is reddish with a silhouette of a body in it. Yay! This was also difficult for me to figure out at first...I realised there were different vendors for different classes after checking out their gear and looking at what they were doing (some wore armour that was very obviously Smuggler or Trooper, while others were doing a Counsular move, etc.) Have the 20/40 gear separated would be nice. A clearer presentation overall would be very helpful, though. With regard to some of the other stuff you mentioned, personally I don't particularly agree with many of them. Especially the Twi'lek thing...They, as a race, had joined the Republic. They were generally enslaved by the Empire at this stage, so it makes sense to say that they wouldn't have too many roles on the Empire side. Considering their natural agility as opposed to outright strength, Inquisitor makes the smarter choice. =)
  4. Well, space...sort of dictates that... You can't just fly to the next planet without a ship, and you can't get on or off a ship without, er, entering and exiting said ship. And some planets have their form of 'customs' that you have to go through to get on-world, so....
  5. 10. No player housing? So the employed Trooper can just head home whenever he wants to and drink blue milk? What would be the point, honestly? 9. If you play side quests, they lead to long chains that aren't instance/flashpoint-based. I haven't touched a flashpoint in ages. Some phased things can be allowed to have other players in them, if you allow it in your preferences. And they're story-based, not instance-based. 8. Almost all large scale MMOs have this. 7. I haven't noticed that part. 6. I've got them enabled... 5. Mirrored though they may be, this makes the transition across factions easier for some players. And the storylines are significantly different. 4. Because you would really want to travel into an asteroid field without those rails... 3. GT...N? It's not bad. Click to search categories. Type into field, hit enter to search. Sorry, though, no Auctioneer add-on. 2. You'd rather sit there for an hour and a half waiting for your character to craft xxx Bolts of Linen then, instead of sending an un-used companion off to do it while you're in PvP? Because...I sure don't... 1. She's better looking than Khem. And easier to feed.
  6. I am thoroughly enjoying this game. There may be a few factors biasing my opinion though: #1: I am a rabid Star Wars fan. I was the only girl in town with more 3 3/4" action figures than nail polish colours and, when I was working at Toys R Us for all the midnight releases, I managed to snag all of the 5' long ships when the store took them down. #2: I have comparison to my few months in BETA...When I first played it then, I thought it was boring. Then again, I realised I was trying to play it like WoW and rushing through the dialogue and storylines to get some OMGAWESOMESKILLZYO. I've also been able to see the improvements they've made for launch, no matter how rushed. I have seen the error of my ways and their efforts and am happier now that I listen. #3: I am searching for a Wilhelm scream. It's a hobby. Other than that....The Light Side/Dark Side gains, affection gains, companions, storylines, characters, general friendliness of the community, fairly quick responses of the employees (they were probably as unprepared for the immediate popularity of the game as anyone else), and immediate action against spam, flaming and trolls on the forums have won me over totally. Much to the dismay of my 8-year guildmates on WoW, who have probably wondered if I died. Technically, the quality of the graphics (while sometimes they seem to overreach themselves and stages were rushed) have impressed me. I have a computer that can handle everything cranked up...and I've compared it with the lowest of the low...only to find the slightest nuance of changes (light, shadows, facial features, etc). I can easily play this on my ancient Mac (with Parallels, of course) and not feel like I'm losing anything...then switch to my boyfriend's gaming PC and not have a heart attack. (Like in Rift or Warcraft....the switch between low quality and high quality always takes me for a loop.) The talent trees are well set up, I believe. I've been able to customise my character without noticing any 'perfect build' to maximize your character. I doubt cookie cutters will be an issue because either way you go, you have a nice arsenal and if you favour some talents over others...what you lack can be made up in mods for armour and weapons. I like this a lot. Interaction with my companions really takes me for a ride...In other games, I'll have companions that I can't wait to get rid of/kill of/drop off at the nearest toothy Ogre. But for the first time in any MMO, I am getting sucked into my character and actually cry out, "NOOOOO! Not T7! Poor T7! I'll save you!" Or, alternatively, "Oh, I'm making Khem eat you the first chance I get." I'm loving it. Every MMO, though, has it's issues. I haven't experienced many with this game, having a higher tolerance for new games than most. I won't sit there and say, "Soon as xx comes out, I'm gone." or "If they don't fix xx, I'm cancelling my account." I sit and wait...patiently...hoping that the next thing will either be slight fixes or small additions. Having said that, I haven't really had any bugs besides a small stack of materials disappearing from my inventory and two total nodes that are unable to be clicked. Conclusion: YAY! STAR WARS!
  7. I found it appealing...But that's just me. I am a girl. These things happen. Either way, back to the topic at hand...There are death penalties in this game. And they can be pretty harsh. I found that out the hard way when I neglected to repair a few times and lost an orange item from my inventory as penalty. Let's not even mention the 3k credit repair bill...
  8. That's so not true. I was wishing we had more than just 7 tanks in PvP the other night...Everyone was taking tons of damage, but not really dealing much. And the few DPSers we had running around were getting picked off like flies. Healers would be GREAT. I do think they deserve more medals, if that's the case, though. I can't verify the lack of medals as I try to avoid healing like the plague (I'm honestly no good at it. I keep forgetting that I heal after years or dealing damage.) Considering the fact that I find healers to be the basis for any PvP group, they definitely need more rewards.
  9. Usually that's because you have a full quest log. You can only have 25 at a time. Try abandoning something easily accessible (like Starship quests or Flashpoints from the fleet) and go for it again.
  10. I pretty much can recommend this because: -I've experienced no bugs thusfar, besides one (maybe two) nodes that didn't have a symbol above them for me to scavenge/scan. -The PvP balance is much better than other games such as WoW or Rift (that buff evening the player field out is nice, regardless as to who has what talents.) -Future patches/xpacs will probably change that. Since it's part of the storyline, worthless or not, it deserves a spot on the galaxy map. -I've opened five tickets asking questions that weren't covered in the FAQ and have gotten responses within 3 days. -Dialogues/voice actors. -Pretty decent graphics near to launch time considering I've seen others try and failfailfail right out the gate. -Immediate action taken against trolls and spammers in the forums and game itself. -Starship combat, while pretty cut and dry right now, is a nice way to 'detox' from world PvP and questing. -Relationships. Light side/Dark side options. Gives the game more depth. -Nicest group of players I've seen in years. Most of that blog had slight bitter undertones...I'll read what he has to say after the "I just got let go" mentally actually gets...let go. For now, I'm enjoying the game....and so have the folk I've recommended it to. As for the comment about George Lucas, every other news article, report and posting says that he's satisfied with the effort put into the game and the outcome, excited about its future, and thinks it's fun to play. (I think the actual phrase was "engage in," but it seems like that writer may have been putting on airs.) Just sharing a counter-opinion, by the way. This isn't meant to start any arguments. Everyone has different experiences. For a few laughs: http://bit.ly/zzmShf (It's an image of a comic, totally safe for work and notspam.)
  11. Honestly, I don't think there's really anything wrong with that...Sometimes, it's not being impatient; rather it's accidentally being in the wrong area too close to higher level mobs and they simply want to get the heck out. Not always the case, I'm sure. But it is nice to have the option. It really doesn't have much of an impact on other players either, so I'm not sure why this is a "priority concern?" If you don't practise it, it won't happen.
  12. I dig it and would totally wear it. Gave it a 5 and asked for notification if it makes it. Well done.
  13. This post should have a million more thanks than it does. <3
  14. I was talking more of a headache from the need to explore every inch, nook and cranny of space. lol That's what happens to me in Skyrim and it results in many headaches.
  15. I believe that you're only allowed one companion out at a time. In the meantime, send your other ones on some crew skills missions!
  16. If this was anything like Skyrim (endless roaming abound!), I would never be able to get anything done. And in space? I'd just be landing on the wrong sides of planets and jumping right into the middle of "bad zones" like supernovas, asteroid fields, maw clusters.... This all feels very Star Wars to me. I love the space combat, but noticed that it's very handy to have upgrades to your ship before you start it. Space exploration would just give me a headache.
  17. So far, I haven't really noticed a difference. Aside from the cosmetic looks of gear, there's not really any downside to staying neutral because flashpoints/instances have been providing similarly spec'ed gear. And much of the PvP gear has alternatives, too.
