  1. I think I know your problem ... BURY that useless FORD and snag a "Cuda" (w/426 Hemi). That'll get the old adrenalin crankin'! If ya can't find one of those ... I guess a Challenger Hellcat will do in a pinch!
  2. Without question ... without doubt! No such thing as a free lunch! Trust the old man on this one! You get what you pay for! Been there... done that (I've now skipped over the cheap T-shirts and started a COLLECTION of hoodies). πŸ˜‰
  3. The RPG aspect while definitely a PART of SWTOR (and many MMO's) is usually more like a specialized area. I have seen on more than one occasion where a server was dedicated to the RPG aspect of the game. I don't hold it against anyone to enjoy it. I personally don't get quite that wrapped up in ANY game. IMO if the game is really balanced the RPG aspect is equally as much a part of a game as is PvP. (Just my $.02 worth)
  4. The problem my friend is that some folks believe that anything more than providing a place for PvP ..(gear for said area of development) and maybe a few high-end PvE areas is nothing but a total waste of resources. In short it's all about what THEY want. ** Never mind the heritage that SWTOR once had (and has long since been pushed aside) ** Never mind the opportunity to rebuild the game, lay the foundation for MANY areas that would benefit everyone. ** Never mind the amount of profits that SWTOR generated and was diverted to other EA projects. (I didn't just imagine the posts that someone made almost 2 years ago when a similar discussion about the sad state of affairs the game was (and still is) in. ** Never mind the pleas that have been made repeatedly by (what at one time) was a MUCH LARGER audience (and still went on being ignored). IMO it is definitely OVERDUE for a large story to drop. IMO the story of Malgus is on life support. Time to move on. YES, the story has been reasonably well done. BUT it is time to move things forward. MMO's in general ARE expensive (in more ways than one). The good ones always have been and always will be. It takes a genuine commitment to this line of work to make it happen. BUT .. IT CAN happen. The simple fact is that SWTOR has been bleeding off numbers for a long time now. IMO you can't blame the VA or expenses. ** Failed GS series ** Little or NO work on GSF (yes... I'm being polite). ** Poor gearing system ** The 10th (what was that event called ... I forget. [/shrugs] Must not have been that important.] ** Dead companions (might as well be dead). ** Crafting??? Why would anyone even mess with it now??? This is just a short list. Back to OP: Yes we need the story to at least TRY to kick start the game again.
  5. I agree... BUT if for some really wild and crazy reason you (happen to be right) and this game gets fired up again .. I wouldn't mind one. (I have a suggestion floating around here somewhere. Take a gander at it).
  6. Remind me again ... why did we even drag Guss Tuno along with us in the first place? Vanilla is NOT always good! Companions ... I loved having fun with them in vanilla and later on (such as Lana). The one thing that I wouldn't mind might be a long stroll on a beach away from the war (from time to time). A new class? I know of a couple of good suggestions there! BUT realistically I don't see that happening. Heck right now I'd settle for a new XP with the stuff they have right now / finish the Malgus story (PLEASE) .. and start a new one ( @DWho started a good thread on that subject).
  7. YES!!! (again you are right on!) I do believe that Broadsword MIGHT be capable of the task. IMO the better question: WILL they? As a result of what someone else has pointed out before: I'll give them a little slack. Let's see what they'll do. If it remains status quo: I'm out-a-here! That simple. The GS series (since it's basically a rehash / hamster wheel of the past) ... should be a little easier to restructure. I know that it is still a LOT of work. I would never presume otherwise. Still it's very important to SWTOR since it is such an important part of the game. And yes... (again) YOU are correct! I also have similar (understandable) doubts. If there was any one subject that might breathe a bit of fresh air and confidence into SWTOR it would be to overhaul the GS series. If it is a win/win for the GS it would very likely be a win/win for the rest of the game as well.
  8. YIKES !!!! (man do I feel stupid right now!!!) Oh my goodness ... YES !!! You are 100% correct !!!!! I can't believe I overlooked that!! I just like to save up to buy stuff I really want (cf: the illustration I used regarding new fishing rods). AND I'd dare say I'm not alone! IMO you can get people a LOT more interested in something when there is a reward they enjoy and can use being offered!!
  9. That's cool! The whole SH idea was just one of many ideas that could be used as an alternative (as you pointed out there are several). For that matter why limit the possibilities to just one or two alternatives. We could EARN tokens then pick from a list of 5 or 6 items worth investing the time into. I can already hear the objections (since some folks are NEVER satisfied) ... MY favorite (list item) wasn't on the list... I'M leaving!! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Sooo why not be able to save up the tokens and have a redemption place available where the list can grow? Why does everything have to be grab and go right NOW?? I know it's never easy. BUT ... there are always GOOD possibilities if we want to try hard enough to make them happen! (I hope this makes sense).
  10. For whatever it's worth all my hopes for everyone using the new server! Kudos to the team for the work! (Give credit where credit is due)!
  11. Bottom line: ** GS series needs a lot of love right now. ** It's obvious that there is a sharp division over the matter of companions being the primary ONLY theme and or reward of what has now become a major part of SWTOR. ** The LAST thing that the community needs is another thumbed-up nose to what is being said (If we can't stick to what we want we will throw out more stuff that is liked even LESS). This helps NOONE! ** If someone wants a companion THAT bad then maybe the answer is to make the offering through a special token that can be redeemed at the end of the GS series. Those who would prefer something else gets something that is EQUALLY valuable (like maybe access to a new REALLY NICE stronghold (not something thrown together in a part of the galaxy that few are interested in). Heck ... even a full customization for one of our favorite companions that does not have that available right now (ie Lana or Theron) would be preferable to what is currently available. There's always an opportunity to find equitable solutions. Sure it takes more work. But it's also been my experience that the extra efforts usually are well worth it and pays a much greater dividend.
  12. Ummm .. I kind of get where you are coming from. Hmmm ... Too carried away some won't care for it. BUT ... (maybe) things like a few choice strongholds: ** Space Station (Not a flat in a major hub such as we already have for the Republic and Empire sides) ** Skii chalet ** Other resort area (maybe with a place to relax and do some fishing) πŸ˜‡ ** Repeatable interactions with a favorite companion on the beach The idea is that these might be a welcomed momentary break from the daily grind/business of star WARS. (If you catch my drift). Not at all a bad idea. Just needs a bit of fine tuning.
  13. If nature is starting to return it would also stand to reason that both the Republic and the Empire would be interested in returning if for no other reason than to establish a presence for strategical purposes. Interesting ... I like it!
  14. I'm thinking maybe ... 2 of each (2 Republic and 2 Empire). They would be WIP (work in progress) in varying stages. You get the idea. But yeah.. the game can reflect progression on the planets after each character completes (selected chapter in story progression).
  15. You suggested "just hope it isn't" ... I was simply re-stating the analogy! Chocolate bunny ... (as opposed to sand) πŸ˜‰
  16. I guess we could request a cryogenic storage vault (it would save space and keep the extras in one spot).
  17. Yeah ... I often wondered if there were any decedents of Ebenizer Scrooge! But, honestly someone inside of EA (not Broadsword) could probably teach THAT old man a thing or two about the importance and control of money! πŸ˜‰
  18. Or like a large (hollow) chocolate Easter Bunny! Looks great! Might even taste yummy ... but, in fact, it is still hollow!
  19. YIP! They need to do something. Sure it won't happen all at once. Anyone with more than two brain cells in their ol' noggin get's that. On the other hand there is something to be said for laying a good foundation for the future as well. Do something: Lead, follow or (if nothing else) get out of the way! It's time to fire up the converters!!
  20. To be perfectly candid about it ... I don't care who is getting what or how much goes to whatever party! That's for THEM to sort out! SWTOR needs to be a good, successful game. NOT DOA at Broadsword. If that means we need to pay for the real deal to GET the real deal then someone needs to say so! BUT (as I said) ... I ALSO expect to get a quality product that is not BUGGY! It should also be noted that this does not mean another underwhelming GS series. It DOES mean a real, gen-u-ine XP!
  21. Dude !!! You and @TrixxieTriss are on your "A" game today!! ROCK ON !!!
  22. June would be too long of a wait. However, if there was REAL indication of changes in the wind by the end of February I'd say The end of April! Please note: one of those famous "We're excited" speeches won't cut it! (sorry ... not trying to be rude again ...but I'm not messin' around either! BTW.. @TrixxieTriss I'll use this as a place to respond to "How much"! Since I've been less than popular thus far I'll go out with a bang! I'd spend as much as I would for a brand-new St. Croix 7'3" Newly released Mojo Trigon spinning rod. I plan on ordering two of those (medium heavy action/ fast tip) along with 3 of a discontinued (well-priced) Fishing 13 Medium action / fast tip in a couple more weeks. I've saved my dough for 25+ years (retirement) ... and I'm replacing some old equipment. Sooo Yeah I'd spend it in a heartbeat! That being said: Someone had darn well better have a REALLY DARN GOOD reason to spring for the cash! I expect quality!! (Hense dropping the names of those rods. They're not the MOST expensive ...but not cheap either. They ARE quality rods.) I've waited a lifetime to enjoy a little retirement. But I ANIT gonna be stupid with my money either. BTW ... I just dropped $90 (US) on WoW to prepay for the new XP just a few days ago! Make sense Trixx???
