  1. I haven't logged in for nearly a month. Don't have the time for gaming () and not really in the mood for MMO gameplay recently anyway. Nonetheless, I was happily keeping my subscription up because I loved the ideas behind SWTOR and wanted to support its continued development. No amount of balance changes, focus toward / away from certain game elements and playstyles, or technical issues with the servers or client software would have changed my mind on that. With this announcement, I am cancelling my subscription. This is the only thing that could have done it. Grats guys, and adieu.
  2. There is a bathroom; it's just been renamed so as to fly under the ratings radar. Also, one of your crew members did something NASTY in there, so you can't go in right now. The game even gives you a helpful message when you try, telling you it's "unavailable at this time."
  3. On my Miraluka Sith Sorcerer, having "hide head armour" checked shows the hood... and having it unchecked shows the helm instead. So I can either have hood or helm. What I really want is an option for neither, though (even just to activate before certain cutscenes).
  4. If you're outside and >= level 25, hopping on the speeder and back off again also works.
  5. Given this thread, I'd question whether you're capable of enjoying either on its own, let alone both. If you really feel so aggrieved by the fact that you have to grind a bit for (in this case wholly optional and unnecessary) shinies, you're in the wrong genre of game. I'm disappointed (but hardly surprised) that it took 5 pages for someone, anyone at all, to post a worthwhile suggestion. Having the current prices for if you buy something at the minimum legacy level required to unlock it, with a (probably percentage-based) cost reduction for each legacy level beyond that, is a really good idea.
  6. He's not deriving pleasure from people's misfortune. He's deriving amusement from people's silliness and poorly made decisions - which is the core of most comedy.
  7. My only complaint about the event is the fact that even though it's over, the plague is still hanging around in game. There was even an unscheduled maintenance the other night which I had hoped would wipe it from the servers, but no such luck.
  8. Statistically speaking, I doubt that My Synthweaving REs since the patch have been pretty accurate to 20%, but due to the nature of probability it's expected that over such a large sample as the people playing this game some people will have exceedingly low success rates for an extended period of time, while others will have exceedingly high rates of success.
  9. If you're finding the NPCs too difficult, make sure that: A) You're only fighting one group at a time. Extra packs of enemies running in halfway through a fight can make things tough if you weren't expecting it, especially if you're not playing a healer. B) You're not in a Heroic area. Heroic areas are clearly marked on the screen when you first walk into them, and they're intended to be a challenge worthy of 2-4 players. Also what sjmc said; his advice is good.
  10. Stupid question. There are multiple players in it, so it's multiplayer. Case closed.
  11. I don't see why anyone would complain about overwriting a level 1 character. It certainly shouldn't overwrite anything you've put any actual time into.
  12. A good idea would be to make it check to see whether you have a character of the same name at level 1 (i.e. a placeholder only, not a proper character) and if so overwrite it. I don't know whether any MMOs' designers have thought of that though.
  13. I don't understand. They told us when the AU servers launched that free transfers would only be available for people in NZ, AU, HK and Singapore; has that changed?
  14. All I wanted was some forewarning so that those of us who were almost-there-but-not-quite had a chance to try for it. We got that and more. Very grateful.
  15. I would've been level 50 by now if you'd released the game in Oceania even one week earlier. But no, because you delayed the local release for so long, I haven't had the time to reach 50 yet... and because of that I miss out on a free month? That hardly seems fair. You've given us two chances at the tauntaun - both on the 12th and on the 21st - so why can't you do the same for the free game time? You know, to give those of us who are almost there but haven't quite made it due to lack of time / heavy investment in alts / etc a chance to cash in.
  16. Patch 1.3 confirmed for May 15. Now we wait and see if anyone quotes that and takes it as actual proof.
  17. I think the complaints that they didn't give us enough notice are valid; after all, it was only about 0.012 days. Of course, that's Venusian days, since I'm forced to assume that the people kicking up a fuss about the amount of notice given aren't living on the same planet as the rest of us.
  18. Coupled with an ability queue like in KotOR, that wouldn't be a bad idea. However, I'm fine with it as it is now. Coming from a WoW background I was concerned at first, but the lack of autoattack has really grown on me.
  19. Every Tuesday I get home from work right bang on maintenance time. You know what I do then? Literally anything else in the world. I managed to wait until the NZ/AU release to play; now that I've got the game, I can go one night a week without server access - even if it is sometimes the only night I'm free.
  20. You may have to go retro for the night... in the old days, they had these things called "pubs" for that. I hear they aren't even Republic-affiliated, so no need to worry about the guards killing you if your main is Empire.
  21. I'm glad it's perfect for you guys. Have fun when it goes live <3 As for the OP, sit down and shut up. There was no maintenance downtime on Tuesday this week, which means looking at the week as a whole it's only an extra two hours out of your time; two hours extra for a major content patch is not only acceptable, but completely reasonable. Personally, I quite like having downtime during my prime time; it gives me the opportunity to catch up on the Funday Monday. Not a bad deal at all.
  22. The same calibre of gear shold be available via raids/ops, pvp and solo play. It should also require a similar level of time commitment regardless of which path you take. Thus, a casual player could access the same gear as a hardcore raider - but whereas the raider might getsomething decent within a few weeks to a month of running with their guild, learning the encounters and all that entails, the casual player would have to do (for example) a couple of months' worth of reasonably difficult daily quests to have a shot at something equivalent. To be honest, the solo path should take significantly longer than the others - as you're having to put in effort equivalent to everyone in a raid group. As a begrudging newly-casual player myself, I think that would be fair; make it available for everyone, but for casual players, a much longer-term goal. I am, however, wholly in favour of having a small number of iconic items which are exclusive to only the most hardcore of players, like vanilla WoW's legendaries... just as long as there's a story and epic questline associated with earning them. The way I see it, casuals should be able to work toward raid-level gear, but in the same way the top raiders should be able to work toward legendaries. Clearly recognisable symbols bestowed on only the most elite among us are both awesome and inspiring.
