You're doing it wrong.
30%defense.
45% shield
60% absorb.
1300+ Expertise.
Get pocket healed and it will take a very skilled dps to take you down.

I remember being on ilum with huge 150+ on 150+ and yes it was lag fest but i was still able to live and get kills. Where as others couldn't even go there.

lol i never really had a problem with lag but i have a very strong PC.. it would get low, but nothing terrible.
any idea on when the update is or event... i remember something was coming in jan/feb

Is there any more news on this? I remember hearing a few things about it recently. Did some searching couldn't really find anything of value.
I miss ilum and i hope they bring it back in the next update!! I love PVP in this game, I just wish there was more than just warzones...

If you're a sorc/sage try this spec.

It's a aoe heavy, proc spec. It allows you to aoe everyone with your lightening storm, and your chain lightening procs. Plus your dot proc and free double speed force lightening. You'll put out really good numbers.

Stack all willpower augments then stack power mods/enchantments on your gear. You'll get some crit from the willpower.

It's not cheap if you are given a counter. YOUR CC BREAK. Since YOU wasted YOUR CC break on something else, or have it on cool down. That is YOUR fault. I have multiple 50s in full war hero I pvp on... I do this on my shadow all the time. However It's ONLY possible to do if my vanish is up, if they've already used their CC, and if its a true 1v1.
What's even better is if you do this to someone, heal back up, pop a medpack, and then stun them again with a combat stun and work them down.
Shadow's/Assassin's are some of the strongest 1v1 classes .... be very careful when using your cc break etc agaginst them.
Coming on here and complaining about this only shows people you're not an experienced player, thus giving your opinion no real merit.
Just save your CC break and when they do this, break the cc and kill them. They won't be able to vanish again for awhile so you'll be able to get the kill.

Then use /stuck you die instantly. I've used both shield and generator, and the extra mitigation helps in 1v1s, plus staying alive while guarding a healer who is getting focused.
that lil extra forcepower isn't worth it to me.... but then again if you're playing solo without using your guard then i could see how it would help you.

keep the shield. Hybrid build is based off surviving. You'll do plenty dmg, but staying alive and controlling the war zone is what your build is for.

I think most classes are pretty balanced now....
However... Smash spec a lil strong, merc/commando's could use a lil love, nothing major just a good lift ya know?
Bubble pop on sage/sorc has got to affect resolve a whole lot more than it does..
everyone should be happy with that. Nothing else is really ground breaking.

Took me 3 days to get full 61 War hero in pvp from recruit.
Why QQ?
Get beat for a few games, get your gear, focus on playing better, and boom now you're winning games and geared.

Save your warzone comms/ranked comms when you hit 50 convert them all into warzone comms and buy a ton of the war hero gear. Problem solved.
Work for the gear, stop asking for handouts.

The reason you see more "Negative" threads and "QQ-ing" on forums is because negative feedback, game issues and other annoyances more often feels more urgent to express (or vent) than positive feedback.
I for one almost never go out of my way to leave a game, log on to a forum and post a thread about how I enjoyed the game, or some feature about it. It just doesn't occur to me. This goes for all sorts of products. If I buy a TV for example, and it works perfectly, I don't write the TV-company and tell them it's working perfectly.
A company should ofcourse receive both positive and negative feedback. But I guess most of the postitive feedback will manifest in the form of continued financial support from the customer, and his or hers lack of complaints about the product.
Oh i agree, but even when there are other positive threads ... the lurking "Swtor hipsters" jump on it and say ... Oh I unsubbed before you and that makes me cool
...."Like someone being like "I just pre-ordered i can wait" and then next comment is .. I just unsubbed this game is bad and so are you..."
like *** why take the time to sit around on a game you dont like and be mad about it. Go outside, go play another game, don't hate on the forum LOL blows my mind..

World PVP comes back i'm taking a week off work and running pvp ops allllllll day.

I preordered on both mine and my fiance's accounts. We're looking forward to the great storytelling, even if it's only a planetary quest chain. We can only hope they address some of my wish list with this expansion and surprise the community by giving us more value than the $10 preorder cost suggestss. I have a little faith after the tfb operation dropped in that there's life in this game yet and I'm more than willing to put my money where my mouth is and see it through.
Things I'm hoping to see either in this expansion or have the preorder $$ going to once this expansion releases:
All current issues and bugs with the game fixed, even the ones they won't publicly acknowledge.
MORE events: the Rakghoul event was the most enjoyable ingame event I've played in any MMO in over a decade of gaming. Even a direct repeat of the past two events would be awesome.
Quality of life improvements (Ops readycheck isn't just something that raiding guilds want)
Legacy expended and given more value, we were told it was so important that it required its own patch but it's not been touched in a very long time.
A discount/special store section to directly buy things available in the cartel packs for subscribers

I agree also i think a really cool purchase would be a "Legacy Cargo hold" Make this cost a pretty penny, but it would allow you a single cargo hold to be accessed on any toon within your legacy. That would stop some of the frustration of switching toons, finding stuff etc...
TFB was great i loved it. EC Nightmare was truly a challenge and my guild was the 1st to down it Republic side on our server. Prophecy of The Five.
This content is so much fun, and i'm even leveling another 50 yet again now that its so easy to get them to 50 with the xp boost/legacy perks.
Bioware you've got a homerun on your hands keep it up!

good luck with that idea lol. Im sure they wont be introducing much more info until the pre order date has passed just for that reason.
I know better with this games track record to not pre order anything. Not a fan of cat people and i truly enjoy slaughtering them. 5 levels and a new planet is ok but if thats all there is going to be then i wont be buying the digi pac and just lvl my toons through fps and pvp.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who enjoys seeing this update. Haven't preordered yet but probably will in the future. Reading all the QQ threads just makes me want to pull my hair out, the sheer volume of complaining for the stupidist stuff drives me insane.

I was ready to log on here after work and ***** up a storm, due to the fact that the unify colors companion issue was not fixed with this patch, and the fact that they again put more content in the cartel market. When I saw the expansion, I got happy. For a few reasons if swtor was hurting as bad as allot of people had been saying, they wouldn't be able to afford to make this expansion, and they would be in the same ship as sto. Meaning no real expansion. Two they said they had allot more surprises on the way with this expansion. I am hoping for Jump to lightspeed for swtor, and a fix on the hood issues. These two things alone would just utterly blow my mind. So I am hoping.

I'd like a dual spec option. I play a tank in huttball but hybrid dps in others. A quick switch would be nice.
