  1. http://d37nnnqwv9amwr.cloudfront.net/photos/images/newsfeed/000/200/420/BRTky.jpg?1321408042 You don't have the issue so it doesn't exist! Seriously, I would lay a bet mine and my brother's computer blows whatever you have out of the water and you are telling people to buy a new rig? Basic troubleshooting, every other game works fine on ultra and textures are displayed properly, come to this game and textures are blurry. Now unless you have no sense of logic then you'd come to the conclusion that it is the game at fault. http://memegenerator.net/cache/instances/400x/12/12553/12854563.jpg
  2. I'm sure something like this will pop up after the major issues get sorted out, they don't even need to make it themselves, they just need to make a basic API.
  3. PVP In rift is enjoyable but you'll probably get the feeling that everyone is playing a tank role Considering rift can be picked up for around £6 including 30 days it is well worth giving it a go at least.
  4. So let me get this right: 500,000 * £40 or 40 is equal to $300,000,000 ? NOPE.
  5. I love the generic "I am a programmer - did you know it is hard to program stuff, true story" type posts. How about you come back when you ship a business level software project to a client in this sort of state, then come back and say that this is fine. I'd be rewriting my CV.
  6. It's ok, one of the upsides of the 'Devs' not reading these forums is that your post won't be seen either

  8. No point trying to knock peoples machines, my game runs this at full graphics. It is well known that they aren't the full graphics so you can choose to be ignorant or go and look at the bug forums and see that the textures are bugged. Either way, I don't care.
  9. Yeh I think we played different versions of Rift, either that or your sense of size is way off.
  10. It would appear as though I am not allowed to call people idiots so I apologise internets. I received a warning for that word.
  11. You have missed the point completely people are complaining about SHARDING not instancing, come on read the thread and stop jumping in at the start.
  12. And what would your snide remark fizzle down to if you found they knew what the hell they were talking about?
  13. And sorry, but TOR's land masses aren't massive or at least anything bigger than the MMO universe has seen so far, just Bioware chose to shard the crap out of stuff so the chances of seeing someone are far less than they would have been.
  14. I don't know if we are on the same page here so for the sake of the thread I'll clarify. I think the whole seamless instancing with the storyline (class instances where stuff happens that is specific to you or your group) is great, I think Bioware did an amazing job with that. Sharding however (splitting up people in a certain area based on a set number of people) is a pathetic move and detracts entirely from the MMO experience in more negative ways than positive. The only main positive like I mentioned before is questing, it'll suck at level 50 when you actually wouldn't mind seeing people.
  15. Hey, the; Aion, Rift, Vanguard, RF Online and other MMO title forums want their defensive posts back, they worked really well for their community forums I hear they are all hitting high subscription numbers now. Oh wait.
  16. I don't think you quite understand how the gaming scene works do you? If a new Battlefield or Call of Duty is released and big teams / competitions despise it then they don't cover it or get involved in it, this gives the public a bad impression of the game and kills sales off. Whether you like it or not, big name communities and guilds not to mention podcasters and streamers are the people Bioware needs to win over, not so much people like you or me. Sorry.
  17. Haha. This post made me laugh, considering I play EVE online alongside this game you'd be in tears while playing that game.
  18. So that justifies a subscription right? Get to 50 and pay monthly to do...?
  19. Doesn't matter textures are still piss poor, but I guess with rose tinted specs the game looks perfect. Don't bother telling me it's perfect Bioware have already acknowledged it as a bug.
  20. The difference is, WoW isn't new and wasn't new at the time of that event they had the market share and still maintain it, they don't need to prove anything to their customers. Unfortunately whether you like it or not, Bioware had to impress the "WoW Fanboys" to take a hold and increase subscription numbers, it's too early to assume anything yet but in a few weeks we will see how much of those 1.5 million copies they retain. Once they get below 500k subscribers, staff will be streamlined and it is an uphill struggle for them from there, not my opinion, fact. Oh and to the guy that thinks Bioware have made back the $300 million budget back already, do they teach mathematics where you grew up?
  21. The game was more than your meagre $60 here. I've never said I won't be playing it but I only play it to play with my friends, if they weren't on here, I'd have no reason to stay. As soon as people developers implement sharding it removes a huge portion of the MMO world. The only positive thing it brings is the fact that quest objects and other interactables are manageable but apart from that it just shows that they either felt they didn't have the space or don't have the facilities to hold the players.
  22. It amazes me how much people seem to think this is a good thing, every single MMO I have played that has had this feedback has dropped to hilarious subscription numbers after the first 60 days. I'm sure all the fanboism will be worth it when BioWare starts laying people off to streamline profits.
  23. Sorry mate but you don't got from a sharded setup to an open world single instance setup in any reasonable timeframe. Doesn't matter how many of these lines are quoted either, it doesn't feel massive for most people and I know exactly what they mean.
  24. I get that feeling to be honest and I am not the only one, I only play because my friends have been fanboying this since I can remember and even they are starting to say the same things, it feels empty and you even get the number to tell you it's empty where you are. I play on a full server at peak times and it just doesn't feel massive. Sorry people who are able to see players running around in the masses but it just isn't happening for us. I joked about this with my friends way before launch saying "Will to be instanced / sharded for sure." - "Nah just the quest line is sealed off, rest is open world no sharding etc.", so, so disappointed with it.
  25. Wait until you hit the late thirties, early forties, come back and say we are fine without Doc after that
