  1. Exactly the same situation, Original Server : The Harbinger Character Name : Nexelau Dest Server : Gav Daragon
  2. I definitely like the idea of being able to use features of each race. If they can cross breed the genetics must be close enough for that to happen.
  3. This is true, this is where I got the idea from in the first place. Forced factions has always been a stupid idea in MMOs.
  4. I'm really over this "OMG No! The Community!" Garbage. If you want a Community to interact with, more power to you, join a Guild. What I want, is to be able to login and play the game and as much of the content as is reasonable. I don't want to spend my time standing around waiting to play because there is no reasonable method of finding a group. And no, spamming chat channels is not reasonable. Especially when it takes longer to do than running the Flashpoint was. First step, full Cross Server LFG for all instanced group content. Second step, the ability to automatically "scale down" to the right level for the content. Third Step, the ability to group with players of the other faction to do content. Fourth Step, reward players for all this with extra stuff. Priority should be to make it as easy as possible for anyone, on any server, of any faction, to do any appropriate content for them or content they bypassed or want to repeat.

  6. 1. Cross Server LFG with rewards for random groups, accepting random flashpoints and even for being willing to "scale down" your level. Ensure the maximum possible pool of players for all group content. Even offering the ability to group with the other faction via it if possible. 2. Vastly improved LFG facilities for single servers so that it is easier to find groups for Heroic content. 3.Changing my last one... instead of more content, the ability to use a full group of companions and also use our alts AS companions, similar to Guild Wars' Hero system.
  7. PvP seems like, a bit of an afterthought in this game anyway to be honest. A well done afterthought, but one none the less. I think perhaps a Story based MMO might not be directed at someone who wants to level purely through PvP.
  8. Rules are not set by players, they are set by the developers creating the game. If they make the item accessible, it is open to the first person who claims it. Morally, I may not agree with that. I am however mature enough to realise that my morals.. and everyone elses.. are entirely personal and subjective. I accepted long ago that not everyone see's the world the way I do, and that behaving with honour and decency would often put me at a disadvantage I would have to accept, especially online. I have accepted this, apparently other people cannot. Games are not coded to be the moral guardians of our playtime. They are coded in the optimal way to ensure that everything can be accessed by as many people as possible. Unless you can suggest a way in which they can avoid locking nodes to players who have no interest in them I'd suggest you stop inserting morals into a discussion about game coding and mechanics.
  9. I don't think they should be lootable in combat. Scenario time. You're in a group for an especially difficult Heroic quest. It was hard enough getting the group to the objective, what with the idiot in the group always running ahead and pulling more enemies. You engage the pack infront of the quest objective... and the idiot loots it, and leaves group. You wipe, with no hope of getting back to that point. Group disabands. Better option.. make quest objects not despawn because one person looted them, just make that person not able to interact with it again.
  10. You certainly like to make personal attacks on people and assume their intent from neutral statements. Perhaps you're a little to emotional about this and unable to see it from a different point of view? I don't think I've ever done such a thing in my whole time playing MMOs. If anything, I'm probably too nice, waiting patiently incase someone else wants quest items until they are done in an area, and letting others finish their quests before I do. However, this sort of coding has been tried before, and as I said it caused more problems.. longer term, larger scale, problems... than the relatively minor inconvenience that it solved. There ARE suitable ways to solve these problems with quest items.. namely not making quest items get "used up" by someone accessing them for anyone but that person... but with harvesting resources and chests it's pretty much against the whole point to impliment something like that.
  11. The rule in pretty much every game I've ever played has been the same. Until you claim it, it's not yours. Until you actually click on it and use the item, you have no claim to it. The only game I played where it flagged things near combat as belonging to the person fighting ended up with a buggy mess because people would agro mobs and die and still be considered the owners.
  12. I get what you are saying, but just imagine this scenario. We are both in the same area and on that quest. There are a limited number of prisoners. I decide to be "funny" and run around as fast I can freeing every single one that spawns. Suddenly you can't complete your quest as the game never makes me stop.
  13. Nonsense, this game is still in it's infancy and low level content is vital to keep new players long enough for them to even become interested in end game. Also, perhaps.. just perhaps.. Bioware has decided that the "end game" isn't the only important part of the game! I know, I know, terrible and shocking idea that.
  14. I really hope we see something like this in the UI in the future, at the very least having easier targeted group members and click casting is pretty much needed. Healing can be extremely difficult and stressful, especially with some of the mechanics in this game, anything to make it easier will increase the number of healers available..which is always good!
  15. Like it or not, this is the reality of the situation. Demanding that people stop texting each other and instead pick up the phone and call isn't going to stop people texting, it's just going to make them look at you funny. More than anything else people are used to connecting to others quickly, and with a minimum of fuss. Especially gamers. Once upon a time, if I wanted to play a mulitplayer RPG or FPS, I had to know the IP address, type it in manually, wait for my modem to connect and hope it wouldn't drop out. There were so few other players I'd probably been told the IP directly, in person, by someone I knew from day to day life. Now we have server browsers.. hell, now we have automated match making services. If I don't want to use those tools, I don't have too, but I have no right to expect other people to inconvenience themselves because I don't like them. Whatever some players, or even Bioware, likes.. the reality of the situation is that people expect convenience in their gaming experience these days, and Bioware will either include this or suffer subscription loss.
