  1. Serioiusly, do people not visit and quest on Ilum already... a planet where there already is PvP area's, and a place you can be steamrolled if your not careful? I would also like to point out, to those with concern, that Ilum had a specific and DEDICATED place for PvP area last time, it was not the whole planet, and it seems like a lot of people with concern are just freaking out for no reason.

    *Get some recruit gear

*Prepare yourself for PvP (and if your playing on a PvP server, then please DO NOT complain about open world PvP, its what you chose to do)

*Practice, and play some PvP matches... it isnt brain science

People have gotten too comforable with this game, and are used to sitting on the fleet for most of their play time, a place where they are safe. If I had it my way, the fleet would be destroyed, and you would have the chance of being attacked anywhere, at anytime. If they do this right, it could really add a very important element to this game that its been lacking for almost a whole year.

Those of us who have been here since the beginning, and experienced Ilum and its open would PvP would probably agree that the issue of it being released is NOT you being attacked, its going to be if the engine can support the large scale battles, and not play at only .5 framerate, then crash your game.

Speak for yourself. I have been here since the beginning and have experienced Ilum in both PvE and PvP and I DO NOT CARE if the engine can handle large scale battles. I just want to keep the PvPers in their area and out of the PvE areas so they do not have the opportunity to show how big of a jerk they are by ganking the players playing PvE on the RP-PVE server I am on.

  2. Here are the tech specs on the video card http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/other/Pages/x1900-specifications.aspx

That video card is really old tech, should do as recommended above and thank the gift giver, but no thanks. You can get a decent system with current tech for around 400 to 500 US Dollars at Target, BestBuy, Wallmart, Dell, or if you do serious research and comparison shopping then try NewEgg.com, (Recommended).

You also would not want to run the SW:TOR or other games off of an integrated video chip (built in to the mother board). Uses system ram as video memory and therefore normally slow and not the best graphics. Integrated audio is ok. As for a monitor LED is better than LCD which is better than CRT, but all three can be used and would provide acceptable video quality.

Recommended video card, nothing less than a AMD 6000 series. Recommend at least an AMD HD6870 or equivalent Nvidea card. Lessor cards will handle all current games, but a HD6870 or later is more current tech and will equal or exceed minimum spec for almost all games to come, for the next 2 or 3 years.

You would want at least 4 giga bytes (GB) of ram at least. However, 8 GB is better and recommend, especially if you are going to use an integrated video chip. You can squeeze by with 6 GB but 8 GB is better.

  3. Play with people who use it correctly instead. There are plenty of them out there, and most in high end progression know how to use recount for more than DPS. It's PuG leaders who tend not to know what they are doing.

Those that know how to use them are not the problem, the idiots that don't are. There are more Idiots than those that know how to use a damage meter.

  4. It's already huge on Harbinger. People there are allergic to grouping so you have to grab stuff fast. Send your comp in to get aggro, grab item and THEN start killing the mobs...otherwise your quest item will be ninja'd. Need a quest mob killed for quest? Do your insta attack and THEN send in comp (even if you're a healer)...otherwise that small delay will be just enough opening for a ninja to tag the mob and you have to wait for respawn. Great community that I'm so glad was saved by not having xserver lfg /sarcasm . And lol at the 'self-police advocates'.

Many times I have wished, I still do, I could have my EQ Necro here in SWTOR. Ninja me then, you'd learn just what FD is and does. Can you say TRAIN!...

  5. Is anyone else having problems with finding gear on the Market for Khem... I'm at level 32 and he is woefully under geared.. making things rather difficult :(

Buy Orange gear and mod it as you can.

  6. Yeah, this was my first 'fear' as well. Lotro has some cool features (scalable instances and helluva lot less loading screens), but the Legendary BS grind is a complete waste of time.

Don't know the time frame you are pulling the above from, but Legacy Items have been revamped a couple of times; a lot less grinding, easier to customize, etc. BW can learn a thing or two from LoTRO LIs. Also enjoyed EverQuest's Epic Weapons, long quests chains, could not solo parts of the chain, often needed a raid to get an item and no guarantee that it would drop.

Really wanted my Froglok Necro to get his Epic, never did, sigh....

  7. With out have more detailed specs on your current system, nobody and I do mean nobody on these boards can give you any kind of accurate advice.

You never talk about upgrading a CPU without also knowing the specs on the MoBo, specs on current RAM, etc. Which bridge sets does the current MoBo have, what are the specs, make and model on the power supply. When you talk about upgrading the MoBo to get a better CPU, you need to look at the video port; or if you must go this route, which integrated video solution, plus what power supply and connector type, etc.

So, until detailed specs are provided on your current system, do not take any action on any hardware that may be recommended by anybody on the boards.

  8. After updating to 1.3. logged into the the retail client on my main a BH and received the notice that my skills were reset. Do not see anything mentioned in the patch notes about a reset nor do I see anything in the notes that would have caused a reset..

What caused this? Did this happen to any others? Yes, I have logged in many times since the massive skill reset a few months ago, and logged in before and after transferring my toons in the character transfer episode.

  9. Back in the day of WoW if someone ninja'ed it was a huge deal. Said person would get the mark of shame be it reporting it to his guild or on general chat that person will be known for it. And if his guild didn't discipline him that guild would get shamed everyone almost always found out because it was repeated in general at Ironforge for hours.

Nowadays in WoW people would ninja or grief just to be jerks since there are no consequences.

    ****en cross server LFG....

This is the most effective method of controlling this type of looter, used in EQ. HOWEVER, it is the Group/OPs Leader responsibility to clearly state the loot rules.

    I would use:

Your Class Need before your alt's or companion's greed

Need only for toon in the group or OP. All other toons or companions you have are greed.

If no need then its a random roll greed.

No need or greed then it rots.

  10. 1.

within a short period after this or that time, event, etc.: We shall know soon after he calls.

    2.

before long; in the near future; at an early date: Let's leave soon.

    3.

promptly or quickly: He came as soon as he could.

    4.

readily or willingly: I would as soon walk as ride.

    5.

early in a period of time; before the time specified is much advanced: soon at night; soon in the evening.

    EXPAND

    6.

Obsolete . immediately; at once; forthwith.

The definition of "Soon" is mutable, contexual and relative - Soon derives its definition from the context used in.

  11. What do u thing guys?

As far till now , i can say Lotro is completly Setup MMo than Swtor..

    i wait for opinions..

Are you unable to form your own opinion?

Two different types of MMO. Two different ages of development. Thus can not equally compare the two.

  12. Yea, found this and thought it was interesting.

    http://investor.ea.com/stockquote.cfm

Check out the stock chart once you get there and you can see the price history and it aint pretty .

Anyone else notice that EA's stock starts to take a hit right about the same time that the open betas started and then goes down faster than the Titanic after the release of SWTOR? EA and BW can blow all the PR smoke they want about what the real sub numbers are but they have to tell their investors the real deal. Apparently, the investors aren't happy.

Go take a couple of Economics classes and learn to get the full picture and analyze the whole picture, then come here and get on your little soap box. Until then you have no idea what you are talking about.

Some quick observations, turn on the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite and you'll see that EA was high during a bad time for the economy, now it trends downward while the S&P and the Nasdaq are trending up indicating the money is moving from entertainment (in bad times people look for diversions so they tend to spend more for entertainment), to the more traditional investments when the economy is improving. It has little to do with SWTOR but the economy and industry as a whole.

  13. Do not know if this has been added, but here goes.

The chat boxes, have a lot of dead space and poor layout of controls, along the left and bottom. Maybe reduce the chat frame to a simple wire frame with little buttons in one corner or along an edge for functionality and the chat window tabs along the top or side, user selectable. Of course allow the chat windows to be fully scalable.

  14. this is an attitude you see more and more with people that started playing mmos with wow and made the progression to whatever was supposed to be the next big mmo. In the old days there were very few mmos and they all took years to get anywhere in so people got used to playing on the same server grinding away for the joy of the game. People built communities because that was where every planned on staying. These games didn't have 1/100th of the features of todays mmos and with things like losing gear if you get killed, or losing xp if you get killed and having to retrieve your body today's whiny mmo generation would all quit within a week looking for a new game to fix their void.

Truth is if your looking for your joy in an mmo based on features, patches and what the newest trend in gaming is then you will never be happy and you will always be moving from game to game to game. People demanded ez mode mmos so now they are all ez mode, people demanded fast leveling so now people are at max level within a week of an mmo launching, people demand demand demand then they get mad that everything they demanded made the genre pretty weak. Instead of getting back to actual gaming people look to blame developers for everything.

At the end of the day the old mmos were 100x harder, took 100x longer, had none of the features and a lot of things in them to make them a real pain to play and everyone that played them loved them to death. In 2012 we have whiny kids demanding ez mode mmos that you can see all the content in a month then rush to forums to cry that they are bored or that there is no one to play with. Well at the end of the day when you make demands on a company or you will quit (essentially exactly what the op is saying) you end up with games with empty servers a six months after they launch because you and people like you demanded it.

  15. We pay for something so they have to deliver it - it's that simple.

Right now Bioware (still not sure who's actually to blame) doesn't.

RIght now they get the money but don't give us something in return.

Replying to the bolded part above.

You need to read, or have explained to you and understand just what you are agreeing to with EA. Read that thing called The EULA and the TOS, find links below. You are getting just what you are paying for with you subscription - access to the EA Service, read section 3 of the TOS. Now, access to the game, running on the EA Service was provided to you when you licensed the software, which you don't own, you just purchased a license to use the software under the terms of the EULA and TOS. Read all the documentation that comes with the software...

In short you don't have a leg to stand on, you are getting exactly what you agree to every time you log in.

  16. Are you new? I do my dailies and that is nothing. Have you looked at any of the prices of ANYTHING? Look just at your legacy items most of them start at 1mil. go look at the gtn. FACT= you cant buy jack with what you get from dailies. You can spend 20 mil on just changing mods and buying legacy unlocks.

You think SW:TOR is expensive, go play AION, it is now F2P, now that is an expensive game. In AION as in SW:TOR it is easy to make credits. I would also LOVE to know what mods you are changing out that cost 20 million or even 2 million, singlely or severally, to unslot. ?
