  1. - Bioware don't have time or the resources to make new events and so reuse old ones and their content

    - People on the forums who feel entitled to have every single item in the game (and Bioware seem to be on their side) and whine and moan when they can't get it

    - Bioware doesn't want people in game to show off their one-time reward, "I was there", items

Bioware has just pre-released the GSF, which probably is taking up most of their time, ready for it's full roll out, which hopefully will involve more gsf areas.

Yes, people moan about events not recurring, so now they are, I've managed to avoid this event entirely, so let the players who want it, have it for about a week, then go back to normal.

One-time rewards are not really being repeated, the outfits are slighly different I believe, the crystal is completely different, so obviously the rewards are changed.

  2. Well the tolerance of species would allow different or "lesser species" to advance in military rankings due to their skill whilst if the Mandalorians had low tolerance of different species then only a few worthwhile commanders would advance through skill while the reast would advance through pedigree and the lesser species who could be confident commanders would stay in the core of military hierarchy.

Yes, but it wouldn't be enough, yes the mandalorians have better troops, and better armour and hand weapons, But they don't have force users, and one force user is worth ten non-force users. The Sith Empire has more troops, better ships, and Sith, some of whom could cut their way through a hundred Mandalorians without breaking a sweat.

Don't let the BH story with it's killing of both Jedi and Sith fool you, that is the story of a unique individual, maybe one in million are ever that good, and maybe one in ten thousand are good enough to go against Jedi/Sith.

In short the Sith Empire would win hands down, there would be some tough battles, but the outcome would never be in doubt (unless the Republic decides to intervenne).

  3. Merc weilds two blasters so does more damage (off hand blaster does less damage than main hand blaster, but more than a shield) and is focused on ranged combat.

Powertech has one blaster, but has a shield, which helps him survive longer (but fights take longer) and half his abilities seem to be close range (you punch an awful lot, at least mine did).

Basically the decision is whether you want a powerful gun-totting Bounty Hunter with less survivability if the fight goes on too long, or a mixed combat Bounty Hunter with good survivability but less wham.

PS. Bounty is a Coconut Chocolate Bar where I live so Bounty Hunter makes me think of somebody running through supermarkets looking for sweets.

  4. 1 - Cross-faction emotes.

It is just a bit silly that everyone around, regardless of faction, can hear what you say (/say) but at the same time they apparently cannot hear you when you shout (/yell) or see what you are doing (/em). It's just... weird. As a bonus, cross-faction whispers would also be great.

Fair enough, but limited emotes, some of them are asking for trouble.

    2 - Blank phases

While I doubt anyone will consider it worth the effort of making - what we could really use would be for phases from quests or flashpoints to be available to enter without the corresponding quest, calling up a blank, npc-free version of that instance. The lack of such a feature locks people out of some amazing roleplay locations.

Limited use, but micro RP area's could theoretically be done, but full instances would be a drain on servers.

    3 - Hood toggling

Turning hoods on chestpieces on and off is actually possible - there are some Jedi headbands that do it. There used to be a fair number that did, but it seems to have been reduced to just one specific one. I think everyone could benefit if the hoods on things could simply be toggled on and off with a button.

Apparently there is some problem with this, because if they could do it, they would, believe me it would do away with about thirty threads per month, and make people happy.

    4 - Equipping non-useable weapons

Because in RP characters occasionally wield something their class cannot use, and we have to compensate for that by making multiple versions of each character just so they can run around with different weapons. It would help if non-usable weapons could still be equipped, without giving any stats, just so they are visually worn. The same goes for un-equippable armour.

They won't do this, because non-RPers will complain that they thought that because they could equip armour they gained it's stats, and they died because of this (now imagine it in angry, rude, abusive language)

    5. Textbubbles. Please. Give us textbubbles. IT REALLY helps in RP to see who's saying what, and where they are as opposed to you. /s textbubbles -really- is something you need in RP, any other MMO has them. I've missed this feature from day one.

Don't get this one, yes I seen it many times, but the text boxs tell you who said what, so it just leaves location (which again isn't hard to follow) and style (and I don't want to believe I'm in a comic book, I want to believe I'm a Jedi/Sith/Trooper/operative)

    6. Guild ships. What's more awesome than having an actual ship for your guild to call home?
  5. Not a bad Idea, I doubt they would do it because Dyes are a huge cash sink, (recently redyed my Recovered Hero's Armour to light Blue and Light Yellow, really changed the look), and they want cash sinks in the game.

And if they did do it, then the prices for individual colours would rise (3million for a black dye for example).

Plus some people want to apply Themed Dyes (Camo Dye for example) and this would require them to take the colour system in the other directionl

But as I said, not a bad idea, it would work.

  6. I have been one of this game's biggest supporters since, hell, since 2010. I have been critical when necessary, but I have always tried to be fair and reasonable about it.

But seriously guys, how freaking long is it going to take you to figure out that being chain stunned and knocked all over the place by freaking trash mobs is NOT FUN GAMEPLAY?

Stop with the trash mobs stunning so damn often already.

    /signed

There are a few places were you do get stunned far too much, especially by mobs not bosses/elites, you use your one ability to remove negative effects, and another NPC uses a stun (or worse the same NPC, seriously two stuns in a row). They really do need to dial back some of the stuns, not saying remove them completely, just dial it back so you can actually fight without being stunned ten times be second (slight exaggeration, but not much).

  7. In a group and in an instanced area. Otherwise there'd be a glaring exploit from grouping with an unflagged healer for a PvP fight. Healing flagged groupmates in open areas could possibly be allowed if they are not fighting another player.

Fine, that makes sense, I don't want people taking advantage of not being flaggable and causing grief for others.

  8. Multiboxing is against the ToS so you are within your rights to report him for that alone.

The video does not count as naming and shaming in this instance.

Multiboxing using software is against the EULA but multiboxing via hardware is not, you need to prove it's via software.

  9. Yes, the Cathar warstaff is the sword equivalent of the Double bladed lightsaber, so you need Double Lightsaber proficiency, which is Shadows and Assassins, although some companions should be able to use it (Kira for Jedi Knights, Jaesa for Sith Warriors, etc).
  10. let it be so what you couldn't turn it back for a week or even a month to prevent exploiting this option

Fair enough, although once a day should be enough to prevent exploitation of it.

I agree. It should ALSO, for symmetry, prevent heals on a flagged Friendly player without turning the PVP flag on.

With the obvious exception of being in a group, otherwise Heroics and flashpoints would become impossible.

Thanks, Alex. I hope they implement it.

    Thanks.

  11. Here's the thing. I've been a sub for 2 years + (since the beta leading in to release) and I enjoyed the game quite a bit. Two years down the road though and there's nothing on the horizon to make me want to keep playing once ESO hits in April.

So I'm just wondering, has anyone here gone sub to FTP (and back) and if it's okay for casual play. I don't plan on quitting but I'd rather pay a sub for a game that will give me at least a year if not more of new things to do, new places to explore and new methods of playing.

Quite a few players have gone F2P, and quite a few have gone back to their subs afterwards, one of the things that keeps popping up is that on a sub you don't have to worry about anything, and when you create a new character you don't have to buy any unlocks for it.

But since warzones and Flashpoints no longer have limits for F2P it's just a matter of taste.

  12. So long as its Bind to Legacy.

I dont want, for example, to get a sweet looking lightsaber, only for it to be locked to my artificer. Or great looking armor locked to my armstech guy.

BoE would make more sense, that way you can trade the gear you craft, and transfer it between alts, but it won't be as good as Gree BoL gear.

  13. The way that it works now, anyone that is flagged is a pariah to me... I won't group with them, I won't heal them, I won't rez them. Because I will get flagged, and way too many times I will get ganked before I can get back to safety and wait 5 minutes to lose that flag.

I think it is ridiculous the way it is, but unless it changes my behavior will stay the same; if you're flagged, no nuttin', no foolin'!

I have a thread in sugesstions asking that we have the option to disable the PVP flag in preferences, so people don't have to worry about getting fagged for PVP accidently.

Disable the PVP flag option in preferences

  14. As for the quit button part, I can't find it! I checked my sub status and it turns out I did the 90-day recurring deal, but I don't see an option to cancel my sub and of course they just billed me not too long ago :(

On the subscription options page of MySwtor there is a cancel sunscription button.

  15. But there really isn't a need to use Area attacks in this area, most of the mobs die easily to basic single target attacks.

I use area attacks if mobs are killing my companion, or as an interrupt on tough bosses, and it can be enough to save me from a respawn. Also people are getting others flagged everywhere, not just in specific areas, and in some places area attacks are a good tactic.

I agree that most of the time mobs can easily be killed without using an area attack, but the way things are going you won't be able to use them anywhere, which is just plain wrong. I'm not saying people shouldn't pay attention, just that paying attention alone is not enough, some of the griefers are sly cunning little <insert appropriate insult here>.

  16. EAware doesn't care about this forum or about you, therefore this will never happen.

Um, I don't know how to break this to you, but EA/Bioware have implemented numerous suggestions from this forum, admittedly the majority don't make it, but they certainly don't ignore it either (or the suggestion forum).

  17. Dear Bioware;

My character's name is Abrahamlincoln, a level 50 Sith Juggernaut already deep into endgame content. IYou see, my character looks exactly like his namesake; the beard, the hair, and the eyes. He behaves as Honest Abe did; in fact, he's Light Side V, and has never told a lie. However, he is missing his trademark top hat.

    http://i.imgur.com/nvny5.png

First if you get a Top Hat, it needs to be armoured appropriately for a Jugg, secondly you need to find some lore to back up your request (find a picture of a star wars character with a Top Hat or something Similiar), Thirdly he needs a lightsaber that looks like a walking stick (it looks like hes hitting the enemy with a walking stick, but the game treats it as a lightsaber).

Fourthly, Abraham Lincoln was antislavery, the Sith empire runs on slaves, bit of a logical disconnect here.

  18. Learn to pay attention to your surroundings, otherwise you have no one but yourself to blame for failing.

The problem is that griefers will cloak and hang about in the hope they get hit by Area Attacks, and some will follow behind you where you can't see them (yes you see them when you fight and move around, but noy before)

I know a lot of people say just don't use area attacks, but area attacks (AOE Attacks) are part of our arsenal of abilities, and it doesn't make sense to limit our options because EA/Bioware won't fix this issue permanently.

I've started a thread asking them to allow us to disable the PVP flag in preferences, which would solve it I think, please add your support if you agree.
