  1. That's pretty expected though, as it's used by the same skill as the one getting it, i.e. slicing Only ever gotten one myself, whereas the other skills keep popping up quite frequently on critted missions.
  2. This is fixed, at least on my server
  3. On my 2nd char I am skipping all space quests, all FPs and only doing a few Heroic 2+s (solo), but just by doing the main storyline with sidequests and the bonus series I am easily ahead of curve by a level all the time. I actually skipped all of Nar Shadda except the main story, just to not get ahead too much... The bonus series (for the planets that have them) is easily as much exp as the main storyline+sidequests. If you skip those you will have to make up for it with FPs, spacequests, PvP and heroics for sure.
  4. Hated it when I started playing, changed my queue to zero and haven't noticed any issues since then. Might change when I start doing OPs. I don't PvP, so I am guessing that's where most of the complaints originate. Too bad that MMORPGs are PvE based (especially a storydriven one like this one) and PvP has always been an afterthought by developers. Sux being the redheaded stepchild of the genre I guess ? If you want crisp, competetive PvP I suggest the FPS genre or why not try out SC2 as it's as competetive as you can get in E-sports these days ?
  5. I am fairly convinced that the "buff" in patch 1.1 was an oversight by the dev team, basically old code finding it's way into the 1.1 version, and that they reverted it to it's "nerfed" status with the extra patch yesterday. Considering the pace BW usually handles non-gamebreaking bugs in, I find it hard to believe they did these changes deliberately on such short notice.
  6. Actually that's not true, and here's why: The monetary cycle in MMORPGs isn't a closed environment. Credits will enter the economy in several ways, through quests, killing mobs etc. As more people reach 50, the influx of credits into the economy will continue to increase, causing inflation. This is of course pretty self-explanatory. This inflation will increase the "value" of commodity when traded between players, increasing gain for suppliers, and yes, this has no relevance as to how "good" slicing should be in a strict sense. (money-sinks counteract the inflation, but are currently not even close to making it balance) BUT, the mere fact that inflation exists will diminish the actual value of credits per se, and as slicing is a nominal gain of credits, it's relative usefulness will decrease as inflation increases. Yes, slicing does accelerate inflation as well, which gives a catch 22 and hence a gamedesign that was poor from the get-go. TL:DR: Slicing will only get worse as time passes and it's already extremely crappy.
  7. Vibroknives are "known" to not RE currently (same for Scatterguns). See other posts in forum. And yes, it's a shame they still haven't fixed it.
  8. All materials gathered from mission skills have been showing up under their corresponding gathering skills before (at least pre-patch). I.e. Investigation has shown up under Scavenging etc. The Fabrics you mention sound like a different bug though.
  9. Put one in every spaceport as it would increase activity there. Currently spaceports are huge wastes of space. Fleet is horrible with 260+ people like we have on our server and Dromund Kaas is not accesible enough.
  10. Tooltip states damage on weak, standard and strong targets, which is an indirect way of saying that it won't work on Elites+ For IAs you can use it after Debilitate, Sleep Dart, Flashbang, Grenade and Slice Droid (I probably forgot something). Never had any issues with it myself since I figured out the non-elite part.
  11. Unfortunately this isn't the norm anymore in MMORPGs. It was until WoW made an entrance, but since then it has been apparent to developers that the masses want the easy path to victory. Grouping, timesinks, social interaction and building your character is normally frowned upon by the mainstream companies nowadays. It is a niche for some games, but it's not the ones that attract the huge subscriptionbase out there. Personally I could never go back to the hardcore grind that was EQ, but I would definately encourage any title putting some more strain on the players instead of catering to the FPS crowd that have taken over the genre. (no offense meant, I am a carebear ) After all it is a business decision and games will be designed to attract as big of a crowd as possible and for the MMORPG market that means "singleplayer ezmode".
  12. ^^ This With KP rolling you get a TA proc every 4.5s or so (correct me if I am wrong here). The GCD triggered from that extra SP makes you regen 9 energy during it. 3 "batches" of KI+SP costs 12 energy net, triggering two extra SPs from procs, regaining 18 energy, for a net gain of 6 energy, which just happens to be the net cost for KP. Total time for all these effects is 15s (3*3,5 + 3*1,5) which means you can easily keep the KP stack up timewise. Add in the extra TA procs not accounted for, for stim pack or extra SPs, and you should see that it's no problem going on forever with this rotation, just as was posted earlier. As long as you start your first KI at 73 energy or higher, you will most likely be gaining energy as you go. This is all in theory of course. Factors such as latency, interrupts and targeting would just mean you gained more energy. Randomness of TA procs are well within the boundaries for not affecting the end result by much.
  13. Of course it is a scam. If you are trying to sell your account, verifying that you are the current owner wouldn't solve a thing, now would it ? (unless you already sold it ofc) Just hover your mouse over the HTML links in mails like that and you will see the actual HTML used. It is NOT what it says in your post (or what appears onscreen), it is something completely different, hence scam.
  14. Grats on finding a niche. Always fun when you can do that and see the credits roll in. Too many people level "too fast" to have time establishing a niche at lower levels, also knowing that higher levels usually means more credits (nominally, not relatively). Personally I love crafting and could easily see myself leaving a character at a certain level if I found a nice niche, playing another character when I felt like leveling. Even if going straight to 50 would probably be a lot better for the bankaccount
  15. Didn't work for me either. After I did the first step of the class quest and was heading back to my ship, I dropped the quest and once I got onboard the ship everything worked just fine (re-taking quest etc). I did make sure to have Kaliyo out as companion, no clue if that matters.
  16. That's pretty harsh considering he is very doable if fought wisely. I wasn't even aware of how hard he was considered until I read this thread (beat him a few days ago). Yes, he is LoS bugged at his spawn point, so pull him away from it. LoS kite him around the computer consoles and keep your HPs up. Stun/flash if he gets on top of you, rinse and repeat. Toss in some dot and melee here and there and you should be golden. I used Vector as companion and tried to keep aggro on myself throughout fights. The first one is the hardest, the latter ones were easy for me. Dit it at 30 if it matters. Probably the first real challenging encounter so far in the game and I thought it was a great ending to chapter 1. Edit: Snipers might have a rough time though, not gonna argue with that.
  17. You fail to realize what a game is. A game is not rated after the # of subscribers (and definately not by the amount of Chinese subscribers as WoW is currently). Two of the most fun MMOs I have played over the last 12 years have been really small in regards to subscribers, but they had amazing communities and gameplay that had me hooked for hours, days, weeks and months on end. (Earth & Beyond and Horizons) Yeah, I played WoW from before open Beta and thoroughly enjoyed it up and through TBC. After that point it became too watered down in order to keep catering to the masses and it lost most of it's earlier profile imho. Sure there will be additions in swtor eventually in regards to macros, addons and so on, but I've been around since before any game had those features and can manage to have fun regardless. I know how to spot the slackers without a parser and how to get a group without an LFD tool. Maybe you should try harder ?
  18. Sweden too and have iPhone app since just after Xmas. I think the poster above is just really misinformed.
  19. Set your queue time to zero and you should get rid of this problem most likely. Often it happens due to hitting the hotkey more than once, making the spell re-cast before finishing. It happens more often when GCD is done, which is why setting queue value higher can help too. There was also a bug with cover earlier making this happen now and then. Since I don't use cover anymore due to that, I can't say if they have fixed it yet.
  20. Turning 30-31 should make you almost invincible when soloing quests as full medic. You have to be proactive as an Operative though. Here are some basic pointers that will make things a lot easier (many have been mentioned already): 1) Pre-buff two stacks of KP on companion before engaging (yourself as well if you anticipate taking early dmg). You can pre-buff stim too while stealthing up if TA procs early. 2) CC the strongest mob in the pack, turn off AE abilities on your companion. Use sneak to get close enough without aggroing. 3) Kill off weak targets first, focus fire. Use shiv, backstab, debilitate, eviscerate, flash bang (if no CC), carbine burst (if no CC or aimed properly), grenade (if no CC) to help your companion out. 4) Soak some damage yourself to take pressure off companion initially (even more so once you get your shield buff). 5) Keep companion topped off early as damage is worst then (when pulling packs). Fighting elites/champions just run the same pattern but focus more on healing, keep KPs up on companion, toss in some backstabs between heals if possible, use your interrupts and cleanse any armor reducing buffs. At 33 I still haven't found a single mob I couldn't kill yet, including any champions or elites I have come across. I roll with Vector though, as he kills faster and requires less maintenance gearwise than Kaliyo. Remember, if things go south just hit your "vanish" key and restart the fight at your will. This is often required in fights triggered by convos (i.e. ambushes etc). Stuff don't respawn, so kill off a few weak ones, vanish and kill off rest with CC etc.
  21. If you have issues as a IA Medic in your late 20s you need to reconsider how you deal with mobs. Yes, Kaliyo is squishy unless you gear her properly, but assuming you put all your points into the medic tree you have more than enough tools to keep her up endlessly. Pre-buff probe on her before stealthing in, use your CCs to take at least one mob out of fight, focus fire on one mob at a time (ctrl-1 to have her target your mob), kill normals before strong (they should be CCed if possible), use your backstab and debilitate to kill faster/stun mobs (shiv/arrow if energy allows), keep stim up at all times and keep Kaliyo healed especially for the initial parts of multi-pulls. Turn off her AE abilities if you CC stuff or she will break them. If things get messy toss out a flash bang, kill off a weak enemy if you can and vanish to start the fight over. The only fights that have been remotely hard for me are the quest ones triggered by convos. Just vanish out of them and start the fight at your will instead of being forced into it. Yes, the exp slows down as you level and your dmg output isn't on par with some classes, but you should be able to go on forever as medic and never even be remotely close to dying while you solo non-heroic content. Good luck
  22. Higher level speeders lowers the risk of being thrown off when aggroed. The 10% speed increase per rank is just a bonus imho (Obvious to many, but I get annoyed seeing so many complain about the prize for a "mere 10%")
  23. Couldn't agree less. Haven't had much use for cover since I chose my AC basically. When questing with my companion I *always* use my melee attacks (backstab, shiv, debilitate, ambush) inbetween healing. Trash mobs, elites or champions alike. Of course if I need to heal full time, I stop meleeing (duh). Only exception is if a Champion has a nasty, uninterruptable PBAE ability in which case I keep distance. If doing tough group content I could use cover on pulls to avoid some damage from the initial healing aggro, but with a good tank that is miniscule and the bugs assosciated with cover hasn't been worth the risk. I am sure there is some gain to be had from using cover in certain fights, but the delay in taking cover, movement due to fight mechanics, LoS, range and other factors make me really not bother with it.
  24. Just curious of how crit really works in crew skills. Seeing as I won't get any companion with crit to Armstech I was a bit disgruntled, although Kaliyo does have Efficiency at least. Then last night I got her to make a Blaster Pistol with an Augment slot and was surprised as I thought she couldn't crit. Did I misunderstand how crit works, or is there an inherit % for anyone to crit and if so how much does that +2/+5 really add (for those who have it) ?
  25. To the OP, it's fine to have opinions of what to change in a game. Naming 25 odd things to change varying from totally irrelevant to the games survival, to game-breaking bugs, really doesn't add weight to what you are trying to put forward. Half of the things you mention I just laugh at cause it's irrelevant (currently), a bunch is critical to the game and some I think you are just delusional about. Also adding obvious incorrect information doesn't really mean I care more about what you have to say... If you want to put forward things that need changing for this games "survival" (lol) then you should have known what to bring up and what to ignore for the time being. Venting about every tiny thing you think is missing/wrong makes the big issues dissappear in the white noise.
