Massive 'golden age' open world pvp: - Impossibly difficult to do successfully - Colossal development time - Swtor engine can't deal with it anyway Arena: - Easy mode design - 3.5 minutes development time - Impossible to argue it's not worth implementing because of above point - Why is this not in the game

    Sents won't be nerfed, because they aren't close to op. They rely completely on defensive cooldowns because they are squishy. They have average damage. They don't have a stun. Playing a healer, sentinels give me no trouble. I'm not a sorc though, I guess.

    You can heal yourself better as hybrid lol. I'm not joking, revitalizers is amazing. At least it felt that way, maybe it was all the root. You definitely dont lose survivability, I can say that for sure. This spec excels at 1v2'ing and the like, that's its strong point! Its weakness is when you want to do nothing but heal others, you're missing ~10% on injection and the aoe.

    Man if you have never even tried it, I have to urge you to because it's quite strong and seems like it would fit you perfect. You just go up to pin down in conc, its like 24/17 since energy screen isn't a must have after 1.2. Revitalizers is like a free extra probe on yourself, and its super overpowered in 1v1. I won't lie though, losing rn is noticeable when healing your team.

    Pretty sure it was the best single thing Blizzard ever did for their game, in terms of profit gained. Nobody ever really cared about the balance, we all knew deep down mmo balance would forever be a joke compred to a real competitive game. The complexity of trying to balance all the classes and specs is just too much when new tiers of gear come out and reset any progress. Like the guy said, introduce 2v2 + 3v3 and you instantly get at least another 5-10% your current player base to sub for a year. Hell introduce 1v1 nobody cares if its obviously going to be viable for one class only. I reckon you would pull in a bunch of curious sales just for being the first mmo with a 1v1 ladder.

Imagine a marauder dueling or 1v1ing the best operative healer on your server. He's snared all the time, stunned half the time he makes it to melee range, and his own snare is dispelled quickly every time. He spends half his time out of melee range if this is happening on a flat open field, and if there's a pole for the op to run around he spends more like 80% his time out of melee range. Now imagine a mdps op in place of the marauder. The op healer is going to be in melee range for a maximum of about 7-8 seconds after the mdps operative opens from stealth or after using a vanish, as the mdps op uses his stun and dispellable root+snare. Assuming the healer doesn't use his cc breaker, in which case it's more like 3-4 seconds. Over the course of a few minutes he's going to spend over 90% his time out of melee range, regardless of whether there is a pole for the healer to run around or not (this includes him using vanish). The amount of pressure he can put on the healer is super low in this situation. Right now in your average warzone this problem isn't apparent because most players don't know how to kite as well as the best player on their server. Most players aren't even aware of how easy it is to kite mdps ops/smugglers. In many fights the op can rely on being ignored, or other players slowing down his target. This is all that is keeping mdps operatives present in the game right now. In the setting of a rated warzone with two good teams, the mdps op is going to be nothing but a burden, especially in huttball. I think game devs would agree, the lack of a competitive stealth melee dps class might not be a totally game breaking issue, but it's definitely worth addressing as this role is historically a popular one.
  17. If you engage situations where two or more enemies are probably going to target you it's pretty normal that you die helplessly. I think that's what is happening because playing ranged automatically keeps you out of a lot of trouble (and it's easier to keep good court vision) and you said you did better as a sorc.
  18. Ye I'm 99% sure I took all my mods out of my bm chest to put them in an augmented orange then bought the war hero chest later with the completely empty bm chest.

  20. I reckon just pick whatever you like the feel of best out of gunslinger and sage, cause it can be argued forever either way (scoundrels aren't really ranged).

    Your end game rotation against me is, get cc'd, have no gap closer, do zero damage. You can't play better and avoid this. Seriously, I'm not trying to sound like an elitist here, I'm trying to get my class buffed so I'm not pigeonholed into playing healer if I want to be competitive. The best scoundrels on my server don't even try to target me anymore, not because I can outheal them while standing still, but because I'm one of the few players who will make them walk around slowly like an idiot trying to get in range of me.

  23. I've played lethality at 50 for a good while. To cut a long story short the strongest build is one with weakening blast. Not really because weakening blast is super amazing or anything, just because any healing/leth hybrid I tried was energy starved and weak. I was better off just focusing on damage and healing with kolto injection. I found myself playing more like a ranged class than a melee one as lethality. I would dot every single enemy while trying to land corrosive grenade on clumps of people, and didn't go out of my way to use weakening blast most of the time. Just dotting everyone then focusing on survival. 1v1 is more demanding as lethality, you really have to kite melee classes hard and abuse your dots as much as possible, running around corners to heal while they tick and whatnot. If you can orchestrate landing two culls with both dots and weakening blast up + none of their defensive cds up it's basically over for them. Heres a screen of my best game, showing the potential raw damage http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=4179096&postcount=29 If anyone reading this wants to try a healing/damage hybrid spec at 50 I think you should try out this spec http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#401rcfMdhokzZMIbRzd.1 It's super super strong in 1v1, and you can still heal your team maybe 75% as well as a 31pt healing spec. I don't see many people playing this spec but it really is very strong. Maybe because it doesn't look good on the scoreboard..

    Videos of smugglers slapping 11k hp people down in 'sick 2v1s' and beating people in duels playing hybrid spec sure are educational. Not. If you can't see how easily concealment is kited idk what to tell you. Since you mentioned wow, think mutilate rogues in s4.. except without the damage.
