  1. Very interesting, have to rethink some of my gearing now, lol.
  2. Yes, this is happening to me as well. However, when you try to place another skill onto that particular square, the dropped/invisible ability magically reappears. It's very annoying.
  3. Exactly! Once the timer runs out, you can sell on GTN for big credits. Grats!
  4. I think we've made this clear. But some people just like doing things the hard way. To each his own. I for sure know our healers don't like healing multiple phasic spits in a row, and I would do anything I could to make their lives easier. Some people are just too stubborn to admit that their way is perhaps not the optimal way to do it and try new things. You and I, having tried both, know which way is easier.
  5. Yup there are a few threads in Customer Service subforum about these 2 issues. You should find them and keep them bumped. Bioware has acknowledged the problems and is working on fixes.
  6. There is so much hate in this thread. Honestly you guys can tank wherever you want to. If you want to heal through 8k purple spit balls and then have your tanks only last through a few attacks during the tantrum phase, then go ahead. When we tank on the lower platforms, none of our tanks go below half health, even during the tantrum phase. Our DPS are coordinated enough not to run through tanking platforms while the active tank has aggro, and Tam and I are aware enough to step back when we know the green acid pool is coming to put it on the upper platform, then come back down for the Scream. And our healing/DPS numbers are completely accurate. Next time we run it, we'll post logs onto TORParse for you guys to see.
  7. I have a Sorc Healer who consistently puts out top heals in WZs; the only time I am not top is if I'm stuck guarding a node. Even when I die a lot and get focused, I still put out top heals. I've been able to achieve this pretty soon after reaching full battlemaster gear (am currently fully WH/elite WH geared).
  8. Yup, just to reiterate, hot potato taunting between the tanks at the beginning of the fight is necessary to ensure aggro is on the tanks, so that healers won't be met with an acid pool surprise.
  9. Thanks! It was a blast, can't wait for Nightmare EC!
  10. I was thinking that could be the reason why. Although I don't see why text would be affected by the way they do shadows. I'd rather have clear, crisp, non-shadowed text.
  11. In fact, I just noticed all text in the game is fuzzy and not as sharp as they were previously.
  12. After patch 1.4, I've noticed the healing numbers that pop up have this weird ugly black shadow under them. After polling other people on the fleet, they've noticed it too. We all have different shadow setting enabled, so we're really not sure as to what's going on. The edges and borders of the numbers are also not as sharp as they used to be. If you've noticed this too and are bothered by it, please post here. - Pansy/Bitte (The Ebon Hawk).
  13. Hmm...if you are going full time tanking, I would use augments to hit your secondary stat goals first before you pump Endurance, and would advise against using offensive augments. 25% defense, 40% shield, 55% absorb would be the minimum I'd recommend. With those minimums, I have main tanked for my guild without any problems. (We are 4/4 HM EC)
  14. Completely feel your guys' pain. I personally don't see how much clearer you two can make it.
  15. Awesome guide! I appreciate your hard work, I'm in the middle of transitioning from main tank from my 4/4 HM EC ops group to healer for our opposite faction raiding group, so I'll be referencing this a lot
  16. Hmm, I don't really see how "- Self buff Overwhelming (Hits from these massive beasts slow targets significantly)" means I am taking so much more damage as to be unhealable...
  17. My buddy and I were trying to see if we could 2-man the first "boss" of HM LI just for fun and to see if we could nab a couple more Daily Commendations. We can normally faceroll this flashpoint with 2 other players from our guild. However, when it was just the two of us (I play as Shadow tank, my buddy plays as Scoundrel healer), our companions were DPSing fine; the problem was that for some unknown reason, the boss's damage shot through the roof. I was using my cooldowns to mitigate his frenzies, and actively avoiding all reticles, but I just took way too much damage to be healed through. Is there some hidden mechanic that makes him do more damage when there are only 2 players in the instance?
  18. KeyboardNinja has an excellent post about which relics to use in this thread: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=469710&highlight=augment%3B+tank proc absorb > proc heal > activated defense > activated shield/absorb I had a chance to talk with him in game though, and I am going to go with activated defense, which I believe is more helpful during boss "berserk" phases, like Toth and Foreman Crusher, for example.
  19. Just to make it clear, I am strictly PvE, and would probably not even be able to PvP enough to afford that other relic. So I will probably just stick with the on proc Absorb relic in my second slot!
  20. I think the caps you are referring to are just from the rating itself. Here is a nice thread I found discussing the cap: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=399329 So it still doesn't change our goals of having base 25-30% defense, 40-45% shield, and 55-60% absorb.
  21. Thanks for those numbers! They were sort of what I had in my head. It'll probably be easier to hit them now that we have so many free augment slots. Will there be room leftover for Endurance augs?
  22. I was scared that my tank would receive a crippling blow from patch 1.3, but he ended up losing ~3% damage reduction, much less than I had anticipated, so I'm going to continue him as my main tank (over my Vanguard). One thing that's been confusing me is the correct balance between Endurance, Absorb, Defense, Shield, and Accuracy. I've done my research on the forums, and have not found a conclusive way to gear my tank. The ranking of these stats that I've found the greatest number of people to agree on is: Absorb > Defense > Shield What cutoffs do you guys use? Should I get my defense to 25% and then work on Absorb only, while leaving Shield alone for the most part? How about for Augments? Now that 1.3 is out, should I be pumping my Endurance even higher, or work more on these 3 stats? Some people have also said Accuracy helps keep threat, while others have said it's essentially a trash stat. Should I get rid of all my Accuracy/Defense and Accuracy/Absorb enhancements for Shield/Def and Shield/Absorb? My raid group is on HM EC so I have access to all Rakata and Black Hole gear. Thanks for any input!
  23. Many of my guildies have begun using Operations frames as party frames since it's so much more convenient to see life percentages, especially as a healer. However, one negative effect from such a change is that many of the debuffs and buffs are harder to see since the frame is so much smaller. For example, my Scoundrel healer friend has difficulty seeing in the Operations frames when his slow-release medpacks are running out. Is there anyway to get every icon into the Operations frames?
