  1. ^ Thought I'd quote a post from another thread suggesting something similar. Also, keep in mind scouts are the easiest fighters to kill in game, even by other scouts. They are not anywhere near OP. They have a role as other ships do.
  2. I have to say I'm shaking my head at the absurdity of this thread suggesting that Scouts are anywhere near OP. Scouts have a role in game and are certainly capable of performing it in the right pilots hands. However, Scouts will not (read: WIll NOT) out kill a Strike Fighter or Gunship of any skill. Nor should they be trying to; Scouts trying to top kill charts will only be watching their team lose as that is not their primary role. Scouts excel at clearing and capturing satellites. They can also burst kill stationary or cherry picking ships. That's what they do. But once their CDs are on cool down, they fall to anything quick, including other Scouts. More than a handful of kills per match by a Scout should not be happening, and if if does, you'll want to be noting their lack of achieving objectives.
  3. I've said it before and I'll say it again, a geared Scout is a wet paper bag next to a geared Gunship or Strike Fighter. The strength of a Scout is not in doing damage, but in satellite capture and support. Anyone trying to top damage/kill charts should not be flying a Scout.
  4. 1. Regarding a joystick, go out and buy one and key bind it. I use a Belkin control pad with my mouse and it works just fine. 2. Regarding kill stealing... This doesn't just happen to gunships. It takes me forever to get damage on my pea shooter Scout and I watch also as others get the kill most times... I also don't do 98% of my damage in one shot like a gunship does.
  5. On the contrary, I'm not wrong. A geared Scout is still a wet paper bag next to geared Gunships and Strike Fighters. Sure Scouts can do all those support roles well, but they trade that for gun power and durability, even with their offensive and defensive cool downs. And if you ever see a Scout topping kill charts, then all they're doing is big number chasing while abandoning objectives. A Scout's prime objective is Satellite capture and support.
  6. I would like to be able to re-load at my capital ship =)
  7. Until then, kids can still buy packs of Pokemon cards also without having to get and 18 or 21 year olds to do it for them.
  8. Using this kind of gambling logic would suggest it is also gambling when you buy a pack of hockey/baseball/CCG card packs. Is it gambling if you open up a 100 magic card packs looking for a Black Lotus? Not in the legal sense. You still get as many commons, uncommons, and rares as you paid for.
  9. When you put money down on a casino table, you wager money with risk of getting nothing back. When you put money down on a cartel pack, you are guaranteed to get exactly what you are said to be receiving. There is no gambling involved there.
  10. There is no gambling involved here. When you buy a cartel pack it states exactly what you will be getting inside, x amount of this, x amount of that, etc.
  11. I use the mouse with a Belkin keypad. The thumb joypad works well on the Belkin which I use for adjusting axis. I'm sure with the right computer gamepad/joystick and the right software with key binds, you could use a gaming joy stick.
  12. It would sure be nice if I could use one of my preferred "basic" speaking companions as my co-pilot, but unless I choose an astromech droid, I can't repair my ship. This really needs to change.
  13. They can't suggest anything in this game is gambling because first of all, in many places online gambling is illegal. Second, in places it's not, most have to be over 18, and this game is currently rated T for teen. Not gonna happen.
  14. The primary role of a scout is satellite capture. They really are pretty weak against other geared fighters, unless the pilot is really horrible.
  15. Also note, every class suggesting that every other class is OP means that GSF is in fact balanced pretty well.
  16. Evasion is the only thing the peashooter wet paper bag Scouts have against any other player... Including other Scouts.
  17. I would like to be able to use any of my preferred "basic" speaking companions to be my co-pilot and still be able to repair my ship, instead of having to use an astromech droid.
  18. I think these could easily fit into the roles of Gunships.
  19. I've been that 1 orbiting scout many times to help get a win for my team. I've also seen others do it. The best response to this is not to try to attack the orbiter horizontally from the side of the satellite, but to fly down, flip your fighter up to face the bottom of the satellite and fire away.
  20. I use the mouse in addition to a Bellin control pad, which has a joypad on it. Works very well.
  21. Two things here: 1. The tier upgrades really don't make or break anything. There is still plenty of things a new fighter can do competitively in the SF battle zone. (I know 'cause I've played fresh fighters on alts against good players) 2. There is a definite limit right now to SF upgrades and the gap will close very soon anyway. At which time it all comes down to skill as people will have no more to upgrade on their fighters.
  22. Here's the thing, playing as a Scout and being unhappy with the damage output is like queuing into a WZ as a healer and then complaining to BW that your primary attack seems ineffective against geared tanks and DPSers. The default Scout fighters are not damage dealers. They're not. They're support fighters meant to capture and assist in the holding of satellites, as well as communication and control. If you play the game mainly as a high damage/kills number chaser (which you seem to be from your original post) you'll want to be playing a Strike Fighter or a Gunship. Period. You may be able to top a chart here or there now, but once we get a little further in, all the big numbers for damage and kills won't be coming from support Scouts.
  23. Loving both my scout fighters. Thank you for the wonderful addition to the game. Looking forward to all the rest to come.
  24. Get a computer gaming joystick or joypad and rebind the keys. I use the mouse with a Belkin keypad and works fine for me. Everything can be rebound.
  25. It's the targeting vector indicator that shows where they will be when your weapons hit. It's when they are tapping their boosters...
