  1. We've complained about this since they first brought in the bolster for RotHC. For weeks we've been saying that people in 72 gear are going to trash anyone in PVP gear. There have been many posts about it in the PVP forums. They have very easy knobs to tone down the bolster but they've chosen not to do it. They already lower the bolster as the gear get's higher but it's not nearly enough. When PVE gear is BIS for PVP slots you know there's a problem. Well... we know there's a problem... BW think PVP is amazing right now. They've had ample time to tune the bolster, they've chosen not to. My PVP gear doesn't get stats added to it when I step into an Op either... still waiting for that. Apparently this "fairness" of theirs only goes one way.
  2. If their game engine functioned properly so that we all had smooth gameplay... sure. Half the time I'm not actually where I think I am, so jumping can be... unpredictable. I'd rather they acknowledged they have serious memory leaks and performance issues and kept that platform game crap out of the game until they've fixed them.
  3. I certainly don't care. Given the craptacular performance of the game and the lag spikes, I can't see myself playing it much longer. Why invest in time consuming brownie points when I'll probably be playing something else pretty soon.
  4. My keybinds are full already.....
  5. I see this all the time, but I'm not sure its a bug. It seems more like a keybind mapping or duplicate partial mapping problem. I see it in PVE when I send my companion in manually before I start attacking via the Alt-1 or whatever it is. If my character is moving when I do that, then they will keep moving even when I stop the relevant key command to move. It's effect is like autorun being turned on. I've developed the habit now of double tapping the forward key so that it no longer affects me.
  6. Yeah.... no. You've been lied to son. Crashes don't come with a 15 minute warning.
  7. It was scheduled enough that they could post the 15 minute nuclear warning. Apparently they haven't quite got a handle on this "communication" malarky yet though.
  8. This company makes an artform out of the wrong way to do things.
  9. This is a new low for complaints threads... We got something we've been asking for, for a very long time, but you want to complain because they didn't wrap it up just the way you wanted it. Seriously? What possible story could they write that allows for the suspension of disbelief that someone could change their race, gender or species at a biological level? I can't think of a single story line that wouldn't make me say "give it a rest, how dumb do you think I am". And I'm not jumping through hoops just to get a haircut. Accept this for what it is. A means to an end we wanted and zip the whining....
  10. I think account-wide friends is a bit more problematic. It would put a bit too much power in the hand of stalkers. People may have medical conditions that require them to step away from people for a while. They may wish to avoid someone, or not want their guild to know they're online and leveling their alt when they should be raiding. There are many reasons why someone might want to disappear, so if there is account-wide friends, I think there has to be an "offline" mode. Some sort of toggle that removes you from everyone's visibility should you wish to use it.
  11. I'd say earlier on in the life of MMO's there was a whole lot less trolling and narcissistic entitlement. Back then, group pressure probably did change some players' behaviour. Now.... not so much. The decent people tend to stay quiet and in their own circles, and general chat can truly be a cesspit of idiocy and ignorance, intolerance and abuse. Most days I reach my threshold and turn chat off altogether. This may, of course, just be the server I'm on, but I would use a global ignore... without hesitation.
  12. Ok so you are delighted that PVPers lost their rewards for their time spent in game. What do you think should replace it? You specifically want to claw back any advancement a PVPer might make, back to starting level because hey, it makes you feel better. Why is your time in game more valuable than mine? There shouldn't be huge gear level advantages I agree, but these changes have gone too far. They didn't just remove the carrot, they removed the whole damn vegetable garden. They castrated PVP gear and put training wheels on PVE gear, plus allowed the PVE gear's higher budget stats to carry over into PVP. And so far I'm not seeing any reward for the PVPers. Just a whole lot of taking away, and nothing to strive for in PVP anymore.
  13. All the unpleasant flaming this issue has drawn notwithstanding, the issues I have are - What is the carrot now given the gear is almost irrelevant. Why is equivalent PVP gear lower stat budget than PVE. Why do PVE players get an equalizer in PVP but PVP players don't get one in PVE. In PVP in other games there was always high risk attached to glass cannon gear and builds. Some have always been able to wear PVE gear in PVP just to blow stuff up but there was also great risk involved and required good teamwork to protect them. This change has put training wheels on PVE gear and almost encourages level 72 glass cannon play as three quarters of the risk has been removed. I used to be a hard core raider in WOW, then with SWTOR I never found a right fit. There's too much trolling, entitlement and just plain rudeness to make me want to invest in a guild again. So I PVP. I have always wanted to see progression though, getting those swish shoulders, or the awesome graphic bow..... and now... I just don't see it anymore. Its like each game I step into.. thats all there is. If killing people who were underprepared floated your boat, I really don't see a problem with it. You didn't expect to have an easy time in a raid undergeared either.
  14. I have a cure for that. It involves the airlock and a nice nebula. GUESS WHAT QUINN... I LIED!
  15. I leveled my Jedi to 50 with Lord Scourge. Besides wanting to run away with him I'd like to use him for everything... on every character. Make it happen.
  16. I just installed it and I'm noticing considerable improvement.
  17. That other game used this mechanic as a skill/gear check also. They hid some rather important achievements or keys on the other end of their completion too.
  18. Having only leveled Sith so far, I really don't see the issue. Your companion loyally follows you into the maws of death many times.... and there they stand, quivering with anticipation to kill these so called "innocent" mobs. What sort of a friend are you to value mere strangers over the single vice your trusty companion has? If I was your companion I'd leave you to find a more accommodating friend. The coffee is very good by the way
  19. Definitely didn't have it. Adrenals were the first one I tried as they are easier to get. After I made the other ones though and went back to them again, and the restriction was gone... and got the recipe on the first try. Go figure...
  20. I've managed to RE the recipes for the new med pack and the stim. But when i try to RE adrenals they say No Research Available. Did these get taken out of the perma packs?
  21. I'll make a prediction... snipers in full underworld are going to be very popular in warzones, assuming they're pointing at the other guys.
  22. I read that differently. The context is the bolster of the expertise, not the gear level. To me that says all PVE gear will have a minimum of slightly sub Partisan level. The rest of the stats aren't mentioned so I would assume that they're not relevant to the bolstering. Just checked dev tracker. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6163779#edit6163779 underworld gear...... so close to LEET
  23. Where did BW say this? I've been trying to find it to no avail. As far as I can see, the bolstering exists on any PVE gear that doesn't have expertise on it already. If my understanding is correct, we're going to get run over by people in 72 gear that have been bolstered to just under Partisan expertise.
  24. I did it as a 54 healer with my tank comp on the boss. I found it long but fun and not at all difficult. I wasn't in any danger of dying. Took me longer than I'd care to admit to figure out that things would be easier once I killed the droids...... I just healed through my stupid up until that point though Thumbs up for this fight BW, and the cranky droid with running up and down stairs nonsense. Would really like to see more of these for single player. Don't want to have to raid to see fun fights. You did well with these.
  25. I read PVP zones as real world.. meaning, no bolster of any kind, ever. There, expertise was kind of important.
