  1. Are you done with your class quest? I was using Kira exclusively while leveling and what would happen is that I'd get a bunch of quests all at once from her, then nothing until the next act. Then a bunch of quests, then nothing. Make sure you advance your main quest line, as unlocking her quests (not sure about others) is tied to that.
  2. It's mostly for show. It gets a base of 30% of its listed damage (up to 66% with the talent), but even then it has a base 66% accuracy, and doesn't proc on all skills. Kind of disappointing, really.
  3. Use your 10-meter-range abilities to kite the clones outside of the room along the hallway leading to the Emperor's room. Knock them out one at a time, and when only the real one remains, fight as normal. He will teleport at roughly 80% HP and 50% HP, and then it's just a regular fight. You can not interrupt everything, so use cooldowns to handle things while you DPS him. Be sure to interrupt his insta-kill ability, he will cast it at least once and possibly twice (it was a while ago, I forget), but it's got like a 6 or 8 second cast time so it's not hard to miss unless you just aren't paying attention to it at all (which is a mistake). You can use Force Leap and Awe if the clones are clustered to stun them all, then use a single-target ability to hit them off one by one. That should work for one wave (or most of one, kite them afterward). Cheers.
  4. There is a very real problem with the design intention of the Guardian Tanking talent tree when their methodology of designing it was, "Let's make their Tanking stance cripple their ability to gain their resource, then put in multiple talents just to balance it out". That said, you (or someone else) should really dissect the topic at hand in a much more thorough and in-depth manner than you did here. You may be right, you may be wrong, but you need to do more either way to make a case.
  5. Yeah, I rolled a light-side SW and was also kind of shocked that my LS choices suddenly equated to trying to reform the empire. Maybe if there was any indication at all that's what you might be doing or could do ahead of time I'd be cool with it, but as it was, I had zero interest in that random addition to the story, so I rerolled. Seems like it's necessary to stay neutral until you get her to turn her darkside, then you can start going Light. /signed for this. Considering most companion romances end with you getting married and with no real 'stress' in the relationship, I fail to see how it would somehow wreck lightside Jaesa if something happened. Especially since it's obvious by her interaction with her Master that it isn't just an auto-on, all-the-time proximity-based ability, as her master hid himself from her ability for the entire time they were working together.
  6. TL;DR Trooper/BH tanks are the best for a mix of survivability and AoE threat generation. JK/SW can survive the damage but have poor AoE threat generation. Shadow/Assassins can generate the AoE threat but can't survive it. Ideally, these issues will be fixed eventually, but right now they're somewhat frustrating for those people playing the classes.
  7. 50 Guardian, Defense Spec. Used Kira 100% of the time she was available. Never used Doc. Didn't have many issues. When I did, it was usually because there were some AoEs which would kill Kira fairly early on, which made the fight quite a bit harder, and sometimes I'd bite it. The only mob I can recall just *not* being able to deal with was a Sith Sorcerer Elite mob on Corellia. Too much Damage/AoE that I couldn't keep interrupted, and Kira would not decide that standing in the middle of a force storm was a bad idea. Silly girl. I did find it amusing that the other Sith variants (the Juggernaut especially) were cakewalk, though.
  8. Against the advice of seemingly everyone here, I used Kira throughout my leveling to 50 as a Tank-spec'd guardian. Never used Doc. I didn't have many problems, as I think the added DPS boost tends to equal out to the slower but safer pace that Doc likely sets. And as a tank, you have plenty of defensive cooldowns to survive. Just don't be afraid to use everything at your disposal. Enure, Warding Call, Saber Ward, Call on the Force. Don't forget to buy Medpacs and keep a few in your inventory. Stims and adrenals are less important, in my opinion, but if you're having trouble, grab some.
  9. Posting to show my support for attention to be paid to this issue, by the players and devs. It is insanely frustrating spamming a button and spending time getting beat on while you can not activate an ability to do anything about it.
  10. I prefer the Jedi Guardian's animations (which are much more fluid) compared to the Juggernaut's. I also prefer things like Blade Storm over Force Scream (though force screem's sounds is awesome, screaming.. with the force.. is not nearly as cool as sending a wave of force with your lightsaber). I also prefer the JK Meditation to the SW animation. The shoulders and the arms are a bit out of position. If it were more 'wolverine' and less 'I raise my shoulders for no reason' I think it'd look a lot better.
  11. This isn't the proper topic for discussing Sentinels and any issues they may or may not have. That said, I just now tried to put the matrix cube in my cargo hold and it would not let me, ergo I can not craft more than one matrix cube. And in response to the OP, I agree: Allow us to craft as many as we want, but make them unique-equipped (so that you can only have one granting you any kind of bonus at a time), allowing us to switch out which cube is applicable for our current role. It took hours to acquire all the parts, allow us to use what we spent so much time acquiring.
  12. I don't think it needs to be taken down, but I think it being labeled "The secret" to guardian tanking is a bit misleading. You can tank just fine going full defense. However, you can also tank just fine going the route presented in this thread, although in my opinion, you should add a note: You will be leaping all over the place. The build is viable, if you use your leaps on cooldown and leap back and forth to keep the damage reduction procs ticking at frequent intervals. If you fall behind on your leaping, you are going to end up misusing this spec and hurting yourself for not going full defense. It also has other opportunity costs (like no hilt strike and force stasis being channeled, which together make you lose two interrupts/incapacitates). Overall, I just don't like this spec being taken as "the right way to tank" over going full defense, because full defense is absolutely viable--and is a lot less twitchy and more versatile to boot. That said, good job on finding a hybrid spec for tanking. Obviously there are a lot of people who enjoy it.
  13. Don't be a dick, I guess. I did not fight romancing Kira to be all that difficult, even as I went DS (though sometimes it's better to not have her around as you do some things). There are a ton of non-LS/DS options (general reply kinds of things) which, if you take the 'heroic' or 'noble' route, will get you 17 affection from her. It tends to more than make up for any negatives you might end up getting by going DS (LS options generally get you more affection from her). I didn't really see any point where I should have not done something in order to keep a relationship with her going.
  14. I honestly don't want to see the difficulty of the fight adjusted as much as I want to see the bugs removed from it. Issues include:
  15. I don't know if your 15-second HP regen skill counts toward it, but I do know for certain medpacs count toward it. I've healed myself 25k worth of HP via a resuable medpac.
  16. I've also had this problem, and I'm mildly curious what you're supposed to get from him. Anyone happen to know?
  17. Basically, that. Biochem is for convenience--it's especially good while leveling to get yourself, at the very least, a resuable self-heal in combat. But once you're done leveling and money isn't an issue, buying consumables won't be a big deal. Likewise, if/when things like Respec costs get adjusted, and maybe trained ability costs/etc, this becomes less of an issue as you have more choice in how to spend your credits. But as it stands, like most other things, buying consumables is expensive.
  18. The amount of abilities is sometime silly (creating very minor distinctions between certain skills, ala Pommel Strike and Opportune Strike), but I definitely think some common sense changes to the system would help. Allowing macros would solve all my problems a Jedi Guardian, but a stance bar and not having to reapply sprint on death all the time (making it remain until canceled, like a stance) would help a lot. Kind of mind boggling why they did not bother to change things like that pre-launch.
  19. SNAAAAAAAAAAAAKE!!!!! Your argument is invalid.
  20. Guardians don't have a rotation, they have a priority list depending on the situation and what's available and what's needed (focus gain or focus dump, AoE or single target). Your frustration probably has to do with thinking you should have a set rotation as a guardian.
