  1. I was lucky enough to get a beta invite back in 2010. Played at launch/vanilla and even though there were bugs, had a fairly enjoyable time. I was a bit turned off when Bioware/EA said no more class or companion stories but stuck with it. That was until KOTFE, I absolutely hated that expac. I quit, and haven't been back. Ok enough back story. So I dropped a sub today after reading various blog and forum posts. The launcher and game are updating. What am I in for? Is it fun? Whats your honest opinion? Am I just waisting dollars on a dying game? I would like to hear you, the players feedback if you don't mind dropping a response
  2. When I was 4 years old (1984) I got an Atari 2600 for a b-day present. I was hooked since then. We even had a intellivision shortly after LOL. When sega and nintendo was released, I was the coolest kid in my neighborhood
  3. I'm still here, or rather back I should say. I took about a year off after the "lies" that we were fed ( flowing content, bug fixes, cartel market etc..) and they screwed a lot of us over when the "new" refer a friend system came out. However, after a year I just realized Im over it, and decided to check it out again. So far its not a bad game, its not great, but I am enjoying what I am playing.
  4. Lets not forget that life day was a planned event before you decided to make a cash grab at the last minute with it. I know players who are still pissed about that.
  5. Heard through the grapevine, that it is strictly 3rd person and that you will not be able to have multiple people on your ship, and its open not, on rails. However, supposedly there are to be some big big raids for space. Again, consider this a "rumor" , take it with a grain of salt.
  6. when you say content are you referring to things being put into the cartel market? Because if you are then I would have to disagree. The skill it takes to design meshes and 3d models to import into this game takes far less time and skill than actual story content like ops and fps. Even that being said is not relatively hard imho anymore because their engine provides all the preset basis set for it. Which is why all the new fp's or one op we have had since pre makeb are all the same mechanics, stand here, dont stand here, rinse and repeat. In fact the most strenuous thing at this point they have to do is pay the actors for the voice overs. Im still not convinced they are even using real voice actors anymore. In hindsight the original dev team did not worry about things to constantly be produced as a cash grab into the CM. Of course they didnt meet their bottom line and ROI either = \ **EDIT - To get back on track of the original question at hand. I am one who actually liked the differences in appearance of gear. To make the gear noticeable between players and to feel iconic to that class. I like the original concepts of this game that have been long forgotten, but thats just me.
  7. I tried it on iOS7 BETA 3 that I have installed and it works fine.
  8. but according to your post having a mount and a pet are good enough, what makes cartel coins such a sepreate issue? would you be saying the same thing if someone said hey I wanted this droid instead of that, or I wanted this mount instead of that one? I dont think it would seeing that in your original post you couldn't differentiate the value of coins vs pets and mounts. It wasnt the fact the other stuff wasnt ok it was the fact that the coins were not, so yes your argument is invalid and just because someone wants coins instead of something else does not make them entitled.
  9. Why coins? cause everything is being thrown into the cartel market. ship upgrades, datacrons, companions, mounts. Why wouldnt someone want more coins when everything is being put there instead of being, I dunno, questable items or raid rewards? Lord forbid some unique crafted items or companion missions or stories that you could use instead of inflating the CM. So your inflammatory remark calling someone entitled because they may want extra coins is invalid.
  10. The reason why they complain about not having coins, is because every thing is being put into the CM instead of being put into the game as actual content. Thus the value / want of coins goes up expeditiously
  11. Im sorry what content? There were no class stories, no extra companion stories, the only companion "story" made available was crammed into the cartel market for a cash grab. They added what 2 new ops so far? For a story driven mmo using the same planetary story arc for every character is ridiculous when rolling alts and living their story was supposed to be the end game. So in the end all we got was 5 new levels 3 new abilities and watched every thing that was supposed to be developed as playable content get crammed into the cartel market for more cash grabs. So tell me what other "expansion" in any other major MMO has depreciated so quickly. This is what you get for charging for a DLC and calling it an expansion.
  12. I dont think its entitlement at all. In fact I noticed that when subs or long time subs post about not getting benefits or perks for subbing (something that has been promised time and time again), when they post about how the feel the value of their subscription is being depreciated, it's the same white knight ******es that get on here spewing this entitlement crap. So I find it very hard to believe that any of you guys trying to defend these subpar business practices were here for longer that 6 months to a year. I know myself Im done, I was a closed beta tester and have paid month to month from day one, and two days from now Im not paying anymore. This companies philosophies about how to handle their subs completely suck. I know I have been lied too, threads deleted, and ignored too long, and I dont think Im alone from what I am gathering. If this company didnt have star wars as their IP this game would have been done months ago.

  14. This doesnt look like open space, looks like a new warzone. Either way it has peaked my interests.
  15. Im going to go out on a whim here and assume you used the group finder. This group probably just wanted the daily comms and thats it. Just form your own group. Problem Solved.
  16. IMHO I don't think the developers can fix the bugs in this game. When the the big lead designers for example left , and the bioware layoffs happened, I don't think they had anyone left that knew the language and math well enough to fix the issues. I know initially the game used and old version of Hero Script and you have to be pretty math savvy to program well in it. I honestly think that is why we never see any of the "known bugs" fixed and we are seeing more and more additions to the game. There is probably some weird physics algorithm that is causing it but unless they pay a load of money to someone(s) who specializes in the script, I think we will never see things like this fixed. Same with hood up and down feature that is constantly requested. I really think that this why we keep hearing about "technical limitations" over and over again. So in retrospect you can either not adding anything to the game and work on the bugs with a staff which in all due respects has limited knowledge of the system, or you can live with the bugs and see knew stuff come out.
  17. /sign so many possibilities here. You could also tie in comp and indie stories into legacy and end game content.
  18. What is it exactly? When you can buy everything you will ever need off of the GTN. We have got 4 guildies so good at this they never pay for a monthly sub and average 3 level 55's. They play an hour or two a day and on the weekends so they are not grinding it.
  19. Totally agree with this, and I want to add this little stipend. This will be known as the game that nickel and dimed their players. Subs have the only voice in this forum, however I have f2P players in my guild that have caught up with all the purchases to be equal to subs, and they too are tired of getting nickel and dimed. They will only invest so much before they just stop. Some already have as they dont see a point in subbing when there is really no content to sub for. One of our guildies has gotten so good at it, not only does he have two 55's he hasnt spent a dime in the CM, he has bought everything off of the GTN.
  20. I try to help my guildies gear for HM 55 ops, doing dailies with them and crafting.
