once the expansion hits, you can keep enjoying pre-max level PvP by not getting the expansion.
if they just extend the bracket to 1-54 + 50, then you'll be PvPing at 50 forever along with other pre-55 players. not a bad deal if you'll ask me.
-
i heard they're planning to make the fix available on the cartel market in the expansion Rise of the Cartel Coins
-
i'm ok with having to pay for an expansion. every MMO so far has required players to purchase expansions one way or the other.
what i'm disappointed about is not being able to buy the expansion using Cartel Coins.
-
i think i just heard something swoosh by...
oh, it's the amount of ****s bioware gives about bugs
-
that will be around 500cc somewhere down the cartel shop

Wow clean your computer or upgrade it. Reformat your hard drive. Reinstall windows and the game. Stop surfing the web and getting viruses and data mining files and adaware crap that runs constantly in the background. Poof no more problems. Smooth running game.
lol, even on my pc with an nvidia GTX 680, SSD and 16 GB ram, this game still eats up your time with ****loads of load screens.
that fanboy defense is really getting old.
-
One thing wow has right is you can pvp anywhere on a pvp server.
yeah. i really loved the achievements for defeating faction leaders as well. forming a 40-man group then marching straight to the enemy's capital cities.
too bad we can't do that in swtor.
-
caveat though -- there aren't a lot of "world pvp friendly" zones in swtor at the moment.

Right.... cause re-rolling alts with zero legacy perks from scratch couldn't possibly bore us even more to tears?
I logged into my sniper on the bastion last night, within 2 mins of loading into taris, I logged out again.Keep in mind my sniper is the 4th toon i've had on imperial taris and it really doesnt change alot from republic taris (which ive done 4+ times).
I'd much rather watch episodes of Jerry Springer on the net between WZ and FP pops than go through that again.
then go ahead and watch jerry springer eps while you wait. anything that works for you. i was just suggesting an option while you folks wait for BW to do something, while at the same time enjoying the game. i just thought maybe doing quests, heroics, warzones and flashpoints with players is more fun than sitting in fleet with your decked toon doing nothing.
or if camping the forums hoping for some immediate response from BW also gives you entertainment, i guess this works too.

Even if they do close down the APAC servers, they will at least transfer all of our characters off them, they would not flat out delete them. I would rather this than re-rolling.
Also, please don't post in this thread telling people to re-roll. The people that are willing to do so, already have, the people still posting in this thread are the ones that want a proper solution. You are really not helping.
EDIT: Although I am grateful for the thread bump
yeah, i wasn't clear about it. i think what will happen is BW will eventually close out the AP servers, while providing a way for everyone to transfer their characters from AP to US. i think that is already a given. they can't do something less than that. i was just suggesting that you folks try to enjoy the game again by rolling some "alts" on the US as you wait for the transfers.
-
not for companions though. still broken for companions.

Lots of responses to the new expac questions.
Lots of responsees about the cartel market.
Lots of responses on bugged CM items.
Nada on us.
Quick question: How am I supposed to enjoy the new expac on a ghost town of a server??
Heroic 2 & 4 missions? Well i better improve my solo skills and comp gear.
New Fp's? Better hope guildies play the same time as me.
New Op's? same as above.
New WZ's? Same as above.
or you could just re-roll on the US servers while waiting for the transfers to happen. i'm pretty sure BW is leaning towards closing down the AP servers. they might be seeing it already that the cost of maintaining the servers in AP is not being met by the amount of subs/income the region brings in.
-
this bug's been present since beta, lol. what does that tell you about the team behind this game.
-
Vanguard would definitely be the best fit. He realised that all this force bullcrap is nothing compared to rifles and blasters.
-
given the budget and staff cuts the SWTOR team got in recent months, and the switch to F2P, BW/EA can't afford to continue the class stories individually.
coming up with 8 different stories again requires a huge amount of time and money. it's not feasible anymore. they no longer have the initial budget they got nor the time (they had 5 years).
going forward, i think everyone will just be going on the same path/stories.

for me, in PvP, the grind shouldn't reward you gear with better stats. better looking pieces or different set bonuses, maybe.
the grind's reward should be the experience and skills you gain for long hours of PvP. it should be about experience and skill, not the gear gap. PvP is different from PvE. you shouldn't be able to out-gear another player. you should only be able to out-skill/out-wit them.
this is why i like GW2's PvP gear system. the PvP grind only gives you ****** looking gear. so if you see someone going for you looking like something that would eat your face, it's a pretty good indication of how much experience he has with PvP. but you know that if you play it right and play it well, you have a chance at beating him.
-
see. another patch and another batch of broken things. you can spend cartel coins to get life day goodies though. and that awesome speeder.
-
I say we pick a day and time, and all roll a temp character on a random US or Euro server and make a guild called APAC Revolutionists or something and protest. All go to the fleet, shoot of flares, do emotes, try to cause the server to crash
yeah, all 100+ players from all AP servers can gather up on the harbinger and have an instance of fleet for themselves
-
if you're a subscriber, just save your coins for 2 months and you can get the space mission stuff.
-
Well it sucks for.someone wanting to level predominantly through wz's (like my.43 vanguard who hasn't touched a planet since alderaan) but I guess its a good thing for those who want to hang out in the 10-49 bracket longer, more time to pre-save comms with the higher cap.
yeah me too, i level mostly via PvP (current planet is Alderaan @ level 37). but yeah, that's another way of looking at it, you get to enjoy pre-50 pvp more now.
-
same here. before the down time, with all the legacy WZ perks, i get around 19-23k xp at level 35+ for games that are well played (winning, good medals).
now i can't even get to 15k.
-
before the maintenance, I'm able to get around 19-23k XP per WZ that's played well (10+ medals, winning team, legacy WZ perks).
now, i can't even get to 15k. anyone else notice this?
-
anyone agree? even if it's the same mechanics. the warzone is just awesome and having more maps for it would really make WZ farming more interesting.
-
Untrue, i'm an Aussie who was apart of one of the largest guilds on Dalborra, and that was a heavily singaporean based guild. In fact I know quite a few Singaporeans who play this game. There's one example of people outside Australia/NZ. I'm sure there's plenty more.
Don't go making sweeping generalizations when you have no evidence to back up your claims...
my bad for the sweeping statement. there's some truth in it though. around 30+ of us (friends and acquaintances) played at the harbinger before AP servers. AP came up, tried them (PH and SG players) and the pings were worse than the Harbinger. could be an ISP problem, but still a problem. so we all rolled the harbinger again. now though, it's just me left playing. everyone went back to pandaria. i play both.

i really don't think there will be a merge in APAC. i think everything will be migrated to the US. just give it time. it's also for the best.
really suggest re-rolling in one of the US servers while you wait for the migration/shutdown.
