  1. Mostly because of the horrible f2p restrictions like "pay for quickbar", "pay for quest reward", "pay to show title/legacy name" or "pay to hide helmet". If BW monetized the jedi classes instead of these restrictions people would not be talking trash like that. on top of these, a person who pre-ordered the game and/or bought after release played a couple of month then stopped; they found out that they get same treatment as the person who spent 5$ in cash shop. this was a huge negative point. by february 2012 swtor had 1.7million subscribers, let's say we now have 500K subscribers, there are 1.2million who did not re-sub. if treatment were better at least half of them would still be active subscriber.
  2. Agreed. I don't pvp at all and no intention to change my way. Please let PvPers have something exclusive.
  3. i am pissed that there is no flirt option with darth nurin, the tion hegemony quest line npc. she is the only female sith npc that doesn't look insane to me. shame...
  4. My personal opinion is that BW should be focusing more on developing a stable build of the game instead of focusing on releasing 1 Operation every 2 month. Every time they do a weekly maintenance they break something; be that a entire quest or quest item or object related to quest or datacron or flashpoint; then they put up a hotfix a week later which in turn breaks something else, not to mention there are quests that are broken for so long(1 heroic on imp side belsavis starting area and 1 rep heroic in belsavis tomb area for example) despite reporting them numerous times, these are simply ugly to look at. focus on fixing which are broken already and develop a stable build, then add 1 Operations every 2 month. i am sure that is not much to ask.
  5. Please watch the news station on fleet again before making that claim.
  6. 1. Decent event. Started with a great story background and urge of emergency to contain rakghoul infection in alderaan so that the rest of the galaxy don't get infected. 2. it provides to a whole lot of player with something new to do rather than only end game players. i personally like the heroic and the Operation boss. also the achievement hunting. 3. as my 1st point stated it had the urge of emergency and plight of help from the CEO of GSI to stop Rakghoul virus once and for all so that the galaxy don't get infected. but allowing infected players to leave the rakghoul cave complete breaks the immersion as it is completely against the containment setup of the entire event. i hated it completely, i completely lost interest. 4. my suggestion will be to change the design in following manner : a) Rakghoul Vaccine must be taken before getting infected by the virus, taking it after infection will have no effect. b) After being infected players will not be allowed to leave the cave or use fleet pass or any other priority transport while they are infected within cave. they will also be unable to use group finder, wz queue and gsf queue as long as they are infected within the cave. c) there shall be another way to leave the cave which will be guarded by several champion rakghoul and which can only be used after killing a certain rakghoul champion boss. this boss will guard the exit and will have a one time pass code to open a secret lift to the surface. this boss will require at least 16 players to kill and pass code will not be shared outside the OPs. d) after players come out in the open they can use all transport function again. These changes will make the event more intense and will not break the immersion of event. An optional setting can be this : on fleet there will be "incinerator npc" who are strong category, 2 of them will come to incinerate the infected players and they can be killed; but can only be killed by the player they have targeted to incinerate. if someone kills 10 of these incinerators they become hostile to all players in the fleet and they can attack any player and infect them regardless if others are pvp flagged or not.
  7. I was enjoying it immensely until i came to fleet and saw people are infecting each other. The whole point of this event was to contain rakghoul plague in that cave. allowing infected players to leave the cave defies that reasoning and it broke the immersion of this event for me. BioWare should have designed it so that players who gets infected could not leave the cave, could not use fleet pass or any other priority transport, could not use GF or WZ or GSF queue and vaccine must be used before getting infected. it would have made the event more intense. it just killed my enthusiasm watching infected players everywhere when they should have been contained in that cave, bad design. I saw many 1st time players who came on fleet for the 1st time were infected and when they asked for help on what to do they were being bullied. almost all of them were f2p so i could not give them credits or give them vaccine, i sent several people vaccine for the next time they get infected but i hope they did not leave completely after being bullied like that.
  8. They don't advertise their product as "Play Free", do they? And also if BW's sole purpose is for free players to spend at least 5$ in game then they would never add Show legacy name or Show Title unlocks or Cargo Hold unlock in cartel market. No their intention is to give free players the illusion that they can unlock everything without paying a $ and make someone else to pay for freeloaders' choice of unlocks. this is not healthy business. i expect this kind of business from perfect world or aeria games or other piss poor eastern asia based company but not Bioware. And if people like you continue to defend this kind of malpractice soon enough our subscription will lose all kind of special treatment in favor of giving f2p "more choice".
  9. Hello there, this is my 1st post in this forum and for some reason i have decided to post on a controversial topic. I was f2p just 14 days ago, all the things OP mentioned; these restriction made perfect sense to me. but things that did not make any kind of sense to me are : 1. f2p/preferred can't accept lock box/credit box from any quest reward except for crew missions. 2. f2p has only 2 quickbar. 3. pay to hide head slot. 4. pay to show title/legacy name. Rest of the restrictions i understand completely. let's talk about those i mentioned above; even though many people before me raised question about those(i am frequent forum reader) but still let's discuss. 1st restriction : this restriction is just plain ugly, how much advantage those lock box or credit box provide to subscriber? after i became sub and now that i can take those lock boxes and credit boxes, i can see how worthless they are; anything they drop are found easily everywhere. more importantly these are quests rewards, when we complete a quest and all the rewards are lock boxes and we can't accept any of them because we are f2p/preferred it looks and feels ugly and disgusting. this restriction serves no purpose but to annoy players. it is even worse for returning players. 2nd restriction : monetizing quickbar? really? i am not going to name and shame here. but every piss poor excuse of mmorpg that are coming out recently; they come out with minimum 6 quickbars; just a few days ago one such game went into OBT and it has 8 quickbars; and they are not monetizing those quickbars. quickibars are standard ui feature every modern mmorpg must have and monetizing quickbar when the game itself only has total 6 is just low and petty. it is simply disgusting. i said it when i was f2p and i will still say it now that i am sub. 3rd restriction : it is also a simple ui feature in every piss poor mmorpg and Bioware is monetizing this feature. sigh..my conclusion toward this is same as 2nd restriction. 4th restriction : same as 2nd and 3rd. These should never been a part of f2p/preferred restriction. these are just plain ugly and show of poor business practice. i understand all other restriction and i totally support other restrictions but these i can never support even being a sub now. it will be great publicity and also great treat to returning players if Bioware were to remove these lowblows.
