  1. Not a game killer for me, but I agree. This really detracts from the idea of force using classes vs non-force using classes. :/ #notimpressed
  2. Seriously, this 'World First' crap is stupid. There's no achievement indicating you got a 'World First' kill. There's no broadcast message indicating it, and chances are you weren't even in the first three let alone 'the' first. Most 'progression' guilds really can't be bothered to post on the tracking threads and so they aren't taken into consideration. The fact that they post doesn't make their kills any less legit, it just means we don't know about them or when they happened. I've seen more than a handful of guilds claiming 'World First' full clear on EV/KP 16 man nightmare mode. Yet we already know for sure, that both were full cleared as early as January 24, 2012. Potentially earlier, so the 'claims' most of these guilds have made are bunk. I'm not knocking people being proud of their guild, I'm proud as hell of what mine has achieved but I'm not nearly bold enough to claim World First or even Server First until I know for damn sure we've actually achieved that right. Soon enough, BioWare will launch an armory system and we'll have sites (like the one I'm currently finishing up) sc****** kill dates etc, and then we'll know in a more 'official' capacity. Good luck to all the fellow progression guilds out there, and making the rankings be with you!
  3. You sir, have made my day! Finally!!! I truly well thought out and detailed post. I would love to see some of these implemented!
  4. They've replied to this a few times now saying the same thing. They'll be giving details about it at the Guild Summit.
  5. @Mysquine You sir, are intelligent and I like you. Here are my issues with this complaint at this point; 1.) We don't know the thresholds for a server being designated 'full, heavy, standard, or light'. 2.) Are we talking about people who live in Australia playing on East Coast US servers (yes, it happens, A LOT) and then complaining the server is empty when they login? 3.) The complaint is generalized to say 'servers need to be merged'. Which servers? What timezones? What areas are you in that are empty? Yes, I realize fully World of Warcraft did it better, it did everything better didn't you know (that was sarcasm for the challenged). Let me tell you a few little known facts about World of Warcraft that people either don't know, or have conveniently forgotten (I played since beta all the way to Cata). Laucnh day - The servers ALL crashed repeatedly for hours, it was a wretched launch experience, Shadow Hand at least at SWTOR launch was actually up and stable from the outset, as were the majority of other servers from what I saw on the forums. Login queues - If your server had a queue, forget about logging in that day, period. This one went one for almost two MONTHS before they finally really had a handle on it, SWTOR had this issue dealt with within 3-4 weeks of launch. Bugs - Blizzard invented re-invented the word 'soon', see quote below... Bioware? I expect no different, honestly. Level grinding in WoW - Is a hampster wheel, the only difference is that the wheel is slightly bigger. I digress but my point is, that people are expecting this game to have the polish of a 7 year old game. Not going to happen. There are things this game does EXCEEDINGLY well, and things it does TERRIBLY. Make a logical, and sound argument and I'd get behind it 100%.
  6. This thread honestly made me go LOLOLOL. Seriously, the authority on all things vital to gaming has spoken; 50% of a server gquit the game. Threads like this are honestly just pointless. They aren't constructive, they're baseless and completely unsubstantiated. Now, before the troll above me can do so I'm going to just quote the obvious reply to this post ^^ Pretty much summarizes what I know most of you are going to say about my post. <3 to all!
  7. People really need to start reading the technical support forum (which by the way is where this post is headed, mark my words). @OP: I run this game on 2 systems, one with 2x GTX 580's in SLI mode and the other a Radeon HD 6990. After doing some EXTENSIVE testing, we're talking thermals, memory, load, etc. nVidia finally posted on their forums (unfortunately I didn't bother saving the link) that there are known issues with SWTOR and SLI right now. That was however about a month ago. By the same token, SWTOR does NOT support AA for my HD 6990 either as there are issues with the 6900 series cards and AA so its been disabled for users of these cards (ATI's new beta driver added support for SWTOR though, so we'll see what happens). At any rate, after testing on my SLI system here's what I found Cards in SLI configuration - Low FPS & Stuttering Cards in non-SLI surround - Frequent game crashes Card01 removed and Card00 left in place - 60-90 FPS with no stuttering @ 1920x1080 Caveat : This is NOT suggesting that some SLI configurations DO[/u[ work. Different manufacturers make different chipset customizations and those customizations are going to have a performance/stability impact. Both my cards were EVGA's and those who know hardware know, EVGA is far from 'crap'.
  8. *sigh* Reading this thread is 5 minutes of my life I will never get back. Seriously the whole fat or not debate had to be brought to a freaking video game? lol I have every expectation of being trolled for complaining about a post I wasn't forced to click on, but my main point in clicking it was to see if it was actually a logical/intelligent complaint. This isn't a jab at the OP at all, her point was well made. The basis of the argument however is silly. PS ... +1
  9. So as you may (or may not) know, BioWare has disabled AA support for 6900 series Radeon cards due to the glitches caused with these cards when AA is enabled in game (yes, the option is still there but enabled or disabled for 6900 series cards makes no difference). The last update we had from BioWare (a few weeks ago) was that they were working with ATI on the issue and hope to have this fixed soon. ATI posted the following on twitter (https://twitter.com/#!/CatalystCreator/status/170256426067955712); 12.3 is available pre-WHQL (as is 12.2) for any interested, however I'm curious if BioWare is going to wait until 1.2 to re-enable AA support for 69xx series users or will they be releasing a hotfix to enable it for us? (Currently I've got it enabled using my control center and forcing it, but that's a less than ideal solution)
  10. The point he's making isn't about making the game WoW. He's merely using it as an example to articulate content features that are severely lacking in a game with a $300 million budget. I love this game, I think its extremely well done but I must agree there are basic features that are missing and should be implemented as early as possible. - Ability to move UI frames around. Playing at extremely high resolutions is virtually impossible, although a minority I play at 6048x1080. :| - Combat log, this really should have been in on day one. - Guild Recruitment channel in global chat(?) - Basic armory type system (nice to have) - Dungeon finder, and I don't mean that POS where I can see an icon next to someones name in the social panel. - Class balancing needs to be addressed in a big way (juggernaut threat is TERRIBLE) but I can see this waiting until more urgent bugs are addressed. Anyway, the list is long and everyone is going to have their own priorities. I think the post was EXTREMELY well done, and very constructive. Kudos for writing it.
  11. I'm actually with you guys. As a progression raider UI customization is a rather valuable tool. Hell I'd settle for a combat log at the very least!
