  1. So... Is there any major storywide differences as a Consular between being LS or DS? The more "ambigious" you can be, the better
  2. My personal opinion is that Nihilus, in terms of raw power, was > anything. However, he paid a price far in excess of what he gained; he was, as far as i remember Kreia putting it, "just hunger". No desire, no passion, barely intelligence, simply all-consuming, himself included. He was more of a force of nature than a force of being. The Dark Side taken to an extreme, aptly likened in this thread, to a black hole. I think, that if any of the sith in the empire was confronted with the pros and cons of Nihilus... That none of them, power hungry as they are, would be willing to pay that price. They might be enticed and consider it, but confronted with the full scope of it, I sincely doubt any of them would take the deal. How is that old highlander quote again... "Better to burn out than fade away?" I believe that applies very much in this case ^^ It does beg the question... What the H was in his Holocron? And how/when did he make it? A force of nature doesnt exactly keep a diary
  3. There is a big difference between Nihilus and Vitiate. But yes, any sith who knew what he was up to would plan to overthrow him. In fact, I am counting on it being the reason for him, some time in the future, becoming an Operations boss.
  4. Just posting to confirm that my experience with Temple matches those of other posters. The amount of mails are finite.
  5. Right.... JK spoiler: OT, I love it. They ARE evil, even if that does not mean that every individual (though a lot of them) are rotten to the core. It is a different beast than the horde in WoW. But OP cannot possibly be surprised by this. Five minutes playing any of the Sith class Quests will have you convinced.
  6. Sith Inquisitor: Short-ish version. If I missed something, let me know (In a SPOILER! maked section) and I will edit it. Also, TIMELINE: I might do the Sith Warrior one later on, if noone beats me to it. Mind, mine is DS, so I have no knowledge of the LS branches. I have also played through the IA, but the summary by Mizozuki seems excellent. Kudos on that, and I found the last part in your spoiler to be adorable
  7. Sith aren't "aliens". Usage of the Dark Side puts you above whatever species you belong to in the empire. From my point of view, once you have earned the distinction of sith, what species you are/were is no longer important. All that matters is power.
  8. Hmm, let me see... One that was win for the pure darkside: "Serenade the Jedi with the screams of the innocent" - me: "Oh god am I glad i play the villain". Sometimes at the end of SW act 1: "I WILL NEVER FALL!" - the delivery as a male was just awesome.
  9. Would like to see some force using companions for non-force using characters It HARDLY seems fair that Jedi and Sith gets all variations of smugglers, bounty hunters, agents and troopers as companions, but the rest of us? No force loving :'< Suggestions: Troopers - liaison with the Jedi, because the army and jedi need to be able to work together well. Agent - an apprentice of a certain sith lord. I won't spoil anyone, dont worry. Smuggler - Jedi "princess"/"prince". Because if there is anyone that should be able to charm the robes of a jedi, I would have thought it to be the smuggler. And we need that ^^ Bounty Hunter - Hmm. An Exiled (read: unaffiliated) jedi. Would still fit in with the whole free spirit thing they got going.
  10. Hmm, let me see... Darth Vader - Because, ever since watching the original trilogy over a course of three weeks with my dad as a kid, he has captured my imagination. Besides, I actually find the Fallen Jedi aspect more interesting than the full-blown sith thing. Darth Revan - Especially the now non-canon Dark Side version. Because Revan was mine (at the time) to be and shape. Darth Maul - Well, not much about him, but you got to agree, he had style Darth Sion - I find him more interesting than Nihilus. There is something about prefering to avoid death and living in constant excruciating pain, rather than give in and perish, that is just so very Sith. Darth Traya - Surprised we haven't had a character like her on either of the sith characters. A mentor that is not really just our master. She just scream "mysteries of the force". I adored her. Sith Emperor - Pure power, pure selfishness. Pure sith. Can't go much wrong there. Darth Sidious - For all of his immense skill with the force, his greatest achievement was achieved by manipulation and politics. It is hard not to respect that. He always struck me as the most farsighted force user.
  11. In Star Wars, it is all about destiny. That is, from my point of view, the entire point of the Force. The Good guy wins because they were meant to. If they fail, likewise. The paths are many, but there is a set destination. Anakin learned that the hard (read: immolated) way. If a Certain jedi is meant to overthrow a certain sith, it doesn't really matter if he is that much more powerful. He will be overthrown. Likewise, if a Sith is meant to, I don't know, bring the republic to its knees and end the jedi order, then he will.
  12. Lots of good points in here. I would also like to add that the Sith of this era are often the result of generations of their lifestyle. They only know hatred, cruelty, and one way to power. If you had never known anything else, I do not find it that hard to believe that that is the right way. Personally, I love the empire. It's different. Yeah, compared to our modern world ideas, they are evil... But this is a galaxy far, far away
  13. As would I. However, it could be difficult. Class Qs are meant to be doable solo. That's kinda their point. if you have to LF a partner, only to end up with some ... who either goes "ZOMGSKIPTEXT PLZ!", or who ends up winning every interesting conversation roll... Hmm. Perhaps they should be sub-class quest. Like a bonus thing. Seperate storylines / vaguely connected to the main story, so as to still leave the choice up to each person. And of course... Spoilers: Jedi Knight and SIth Warrior Qline:
  14. Having played the DS warrior, I want to echo the previous statement that DS end of act 1 is the MOST EPIC MOMENT in this game. No question. It is all a true sith fan should want. Play it, enjoy it... then make another DS warrior and do it again That's what I did (Wanted a jugger instead of my mara )
  15. I believe this is touched upon in the Bounty Hunter storyline. Only 38 (and on hold for now ), but basically... SPOILERS! Bounty Hunter act 2 stuff! Also: it speaks volumes that the mandalorians chose to stay with the Empire. Mainly of what they think of the Jedi. They must really consider them the greatest challenge, rather than the empire.
  16. The warrior and inquisitor very much mirros the Knight and Consulars. The Warrior / Knight is the typical Jedi / Sith storyline. You all know it, you all love it. The Inquisitor / Consular is different. Its about the mysteries of the force. I know many people wanted a "palpatine" storyline with the inquisitor, and on some parts, you do not get it. A bit of a shame. But on the other hand, if you are into the mystical parts of the jedi / sith, it should be fairly interesting. I liked it myself. Although I prefered the Warrior.
  17. Having played the sith warrior and inquisitor to 50, It does, in fact, have a few effects. Mainly with regards to dialogue. I don't think there were actual major diverging points depending on your alignment. Examples: WARNING! SPOILERIFIC! Warrior first: STILL SPOILERS! Inquisitor: That being said, I kinda miss that your change in appearance isnt mentioned (well, not as far as I have found). One of my favourite parts of KOTOR 2 was when the Hand Maiden spoke about this to your character, to which you could be a total BA and say something like "Does my features frighten you?" and "This is the face of power!"... I think God I need to replay that game!
  18. I kinda adored Baras. Yes, he was fat. It was clear that he was not the physical type. A master schemer. But still incredibly powerful. About the missions they send us doing.. I found them fitting. The warrior (in act 1) take on a story much like that of Darth Maul. Baras said it himself: we are his enforcer. That being said... It is the way of the sith for the APPRENTICE to challenge the master. Thus making Baras... not the ideal sith at all. It exists so that the most powerful sith rule. Killing off your most powerful apprentice in... shall we say, underhanded ways, seem to be heavily in conflict with this. But entirely in character for Baras.
  19. Oh this! THIS BIOWARE! One of Many was the highlight of that game ;D Well, and the evil ending
  20. This was full of good reads. Thumbs up to the intelligent people in here ^^ Some things I knew, some things I didn't. Thank you people :>
  21. The way in which the Jedi and the Republic was shacked up together leaves it just as probable. Not only jedi go "The force be with you".
  22. I like your perspective. A+ from me. I Guess you could argue that the jedi's need for control was as damaging as the sith's need for dominance.
  23. A big part of Star Wars and Force Philosphy is Destiny and Fate, both being expressed as the will of the force. Your Jedi Knight defeated "The Emperor" because he/She was MEANT to. Always. It could be no different. Just as Anakin/Vader was always meant to bring balance in the Original sage. It could never have been any different. Revan was meant to do great and terrible things. But not defeat the Sith Emperor. Thus, he could not. The path may vary, but never the destination. I believe this is why Kreia in KOTOR2 hated the force. And I do agree with her on that. If the force was considered a god, it is a quite sadistic one at that. That being said.... Sith Warrior Class Q End spoilers!
  24. Thank you, I did not know that. "Bendu was a collection of non-confrontational beliefs practiced by the Bendu monks. The symbol of Bendu was a circle connected by eight even spokes, which represented the unification of the galaxy by the Force." Makes perfect sense the both palaptine and the Sith Empire would use it (or a version of it). Independantly of each other. OT: The end of the sith empire could take anything from years to decades or centuries. We won't be seeing it ingame imho. Ever.
