So my Sentinel defeated the big bad but came out with a feeling that something just felt...off.
I felt like my Knight, while powerful in her own right, should not have been powerful enough to defeat the all-powerful, close to omnipotent, Emperor of the Sith.
Let's look at Kotor 1.
Revan defeated Malak. There is no question about this. I'm sure we will all be in agreement that Revan was far more powerful than Malak.
By the end of the game, slaughtering mobs left and right, it felt right as well.
Kotor 2:
Darth Nihilus seemed very similar to the Emperor. Both had devoured entire planets, rendering them lifeless. Both planned on doing the same to the entire galaxy. Both, therefore, were significantly more powerful than your traditional, garden variety, Sith Lord.
The Exile, again, powerful in her own right, was able to stand up the Nihilus' unique power to feed on/drain the force due to her being a "wound in the force". Whatever that meant, it makes sense. Your Jedi Companions were neutralized immediately during that fight.
Bear in mind, this is the same Emperor who wiped the floor with the combined might of Revan and the Exile.
I never got the feeling that our Jedi Knight was more powerful than Revan.
The same Emperor, who defeated with her at the end of Act 1, and dominated her mind.
Yes, the storyline says that she overcame that compulsion and escaped. Beyond that, it did not feel like her power had increases to the point that she would be able to defeat the Emperor in one-on-one combat without any external assistance whatsoever.
I mean, I did not even feel like my Knight was supposed to be more powerful than Satele Shan. Yet somehow, the Knight defeated the Emperor.
What gives?
