  1. Known issue. It is fixed on PTR in patch 1.1.1, so just be patient, it will be live soon enough.
  2. Makes perfect sense! Because not getting credit for your wins is such an awesome incentive to keep playing!
  3. This would be a problem then because PvE gear would be just as good as PvP gear in PvP, which is NOT good for the game. The best PvP gear NEEDS to come from PvP, not PvE. I would not be opposed to the "expertise" like stat being for PvE instead of PvP, but it is all cosmetic and does not really change anything. The people with Champ gear will still have an advantage over those who do not because all their base stats will be higher. Expertise is a NON issue, it does NOT cause PvP gear to be overpowered. The TRUE problem is the curve for acquiring PvP gear is too steep and needs another step like crafted PvP gear that is level 50 mods like the crafted PvE gear.
  4. Been trying to drive that point home now for weeks. People just refuse to believe it. They somehow think that once expertise is removed, they will all of a sudden be so much better at PvP and be able to ROLFstomp all that come before them because they l33t pvp skills were being handicapped by the inclusion of expertise in the game.
  5. Ok, how about some reference for this assertion? Because I find it really hard to believe since Tionees armoring mods have BETTER PVE stats than battlemaster gear. Armoring Mod from Battlemaster Force-Master's Vestments 31 Endurance 33 Willpower 50 Exeprtise Armoring Mod from Tionees Gear or any other level 51 armoring mod (i.e the dailies on ILum) +34 Endurance +48 Willpower So, why would a guild who have the talent and time to be the first to clear EV in hard mode due so with inferior gear.... on PURPOSE. You could farm level 51 armoring mods to outfit all five slots in two or three days tops. It takes a whole lot longer than that to farm BM gear. In addition, if you did have BM gear, it would be best used by ripping out the enchantment and mod slots and sticking it your tionees gear. In fact if you were that hardcore, you could be full Columi gear within ONE week and even without replacing the Mod and Enchantment slots it would be better than BM gear. You claim is laughable on its face. By the time a guild got completely outfitted in BM gear, they could have been in full Columi much much quicker and have superior stats. And for the fact you currently think there is a wall to PvE geared players wanting to PvP just shows my how little you know about this game. As been stated by me and a few others, expertise is UNDER POWERED compared to PvE gear of equivalent level. Anything above 5% expertise is a waste. And some would even argue lower than that. Optimal gear right NOW for PvP is about 70%-80% PvE gear and the rest PvP gear.
  6. Well it is a known issue to any who routinely plays in WZs, I can only assume it is a known issue to Bioware. What I THINK is happening is you are getting some of the players that are supposed to be assigned to the other team. What I mean is, there is only ever 16 people in a WZ, so if you have 10, that means they only have 6. This is only speculation on my part, I don;t really know how or why that bug occurs.
  7. The way you combat that is simple. You don't just keep adding an ever increasing cost to better and better PvP gear. WoW came up with a simple solution. There is effectively only 3 tiers of PvP gear at ANY given time. There is a crafted beginner set (which I feel we need) a tier 1 set that is fairly easy to obtain and a tier 2 set that is harder to obtain and some of which requires participating in rated matches. When they release new raid gear, they also create a new PvP set and give it the same cost as the old tier 2, and the old tier 2 is reduced in cost to be the same as the old tier 1. They then buff the crafted gear to be on par with the old tier 1. So basically no matter when you start to PvP, you can get instantly a full set of beginner PvP gear that is only 2 steps away from the best gear in the game. The issue is NOT expertise. The issue is the progression of PvP gear upgrades. PvE has the crafted gear to help step people of to the next level. PvP does NOT have this crafted step which makes the first step of PvP gear upgrades a significant one. People are going from level 40 PvP blues or maybe PvE 45 greens and blues and competing against people in level 50 purples. Well Duh, of course they will have a hard time. The level 50 purples will have more endurance, primary stat, and secondary stats. THAT is what makes them so much better. The expertise is hardly a factor.
  8. This makes absolutely no sense. A new level 50 will still not have good gear and will still have a disadvantage against those who already have gear. The removal of expertise does not change that fact. Personally I do not care if the "Expertise" stat was on PvE or PvP gear, but that is NOT the issue. How in the world do you think that removing expertise will all of a sudden bring parity to everyone's gear levels? A PvPer in Champ gear will STILL have significantly better stats than someone who just turned 50 who is still in level 45 greens and blues. A new PvPer will STILL have to grind out gear and face harder opponents until such time they have earned better gear. How does swapping the expertise from PvP to PvE change the gear grind? Changing it around is mealy a perception issue, but considering the enormous amount of work on Bioware's end to re-balance all the stats on the PvE gear, I highly doubt this will happen. Again I will state due to diminishing returns expertise beyond 5% or so is NOT worth the loss of endurance and your primary stat. A poster on the first page was comparing BM and Rakata, but what he forgot to mention, (or did not know) was the higher your expertise rating, the LESS expertise percentage you actually get. Expertise is NOT the problem, mainly due to the fact it is currently UNDERpowered. Your real issue is the lack of gear parity among PvPers in the same match, well, this is a gear progression game, so you will just have to deal with it. Once there is rated WZs and arenas, your better geared players will not be running the normal WZs as much, so all you undergeared PvPers will have a better opportunity to be matched against people with comparable gear.
  9. And yes there is, see the post about yours. To not accept the above video just shows how biased you are. The ONLY difference between now and pre 1.1 is buff stacking which is OBVIOUSLY not taking place in that video. And what the OP is asking for is ridiculous. What operative is going to willfully post proof that his class needs to get nerfed. It is in their self interest of their own class to NOT try to show how OP they are. That is like asking a criminal to take it upon himself to prove his is a criminal so that he can be arrested and sent to jail.
  10. +1 to Thread Necroing! I am not sure about most people, but I prefer my threads fresh, not have a 9 day gap in-between posts.
  11. While this does need to be kept in the forefront of their minds, it is disingenuous at best to say they have been silent on the issue. Not only have they fixed some of the issues, they have said they are fixing more of them. They have publicly stated they are addressing them. Just because they have not responded to this specific thread does not mean there has been no response. Most people just have not seen it. For example three to four times a DAY I see threads from people asking when they are going to fix the issue of wins not counting for the PVP daily... well that fix has been posted on the PTR for almost a week now. Publicly posted for all to see, yet people still have no idea it is there. The best way to track developer responses is to read the developer tracking forum, that way you will not miss anything that is officially put out there.
  12. Correct me if I am wrong, but the biggest problem with pre 1.1 is the 15% expertise power up stacked with the 15% adrenal, which only happens in WZs... sooooo since this is a duel in open world, and neither can be used, what is the problem?
  13. Oh really? A couple of pieces? How about most. Fine, here you go. Champion Force-Mystic's Robe +86 Endurance +87 Willpower +46 Expertise Rating +44 Power +48 Alacrity Rating Columi Force-Mystic's Robe +98 Endurance +114 Willpower +44 Power +48 Alacrity Rating Winner? I think I have proven my point. Go spread your ignorance elsewhere. Next time you make a statement like that, back it up with facts.
  14. It is fixed in 1.1.1 which is on the PTR, just have patience. Check the patch notes next time. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=212341
  15. This is like the 4th or 5th thread alone today on this issue. I am going to tell you the same thing I told everyone else. This has already been fixed in patch 1.1.1 which is on the PTR as we speak. So just calm down, it is coming. Before venting about an issue, you may want to check the upcoming patch notes to see if it has already been addressed. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=212341
  16. No, the PTR is patch 1.1.1. In THAT patch it is fixed. They did a hotfix this week to address issues they felt was too urgent to wait until 1.1.1 hit. This current patch is 1.1.0b on the live servers. Based on my experiences, the issue of wins not counting has everything to do with which group you are in. If you are in the group with the Op leader, you get credit. If you are not, then you don't.
  17. Then go back to guild wars and leave this game alone.
  18. Then you do not understand how ineffective expertise already is as implemented. If I HAD to choose between a full set of Champ gear and a full set of Columi gear, I would take the full set of Columi gear everyday and twice on Sunday. It is that much better. Now best case scenario is about 70% to 80% Columi gear and the rest in Champion. There are a few champion pieces that are better than the Columi equivalent, but not many. Because diminishing returns kicks in later on, a few pieces is all you need to get a nice efficient boost to your damage. Anything above 3% to 5% expertise is way to costly in terms of lost endurance and primary stats. If they scaled it back from where it is now, then no hardcore PvPer would wear ANY PvP gear and ALL the best "PvP" gear would come from raiding.
  19. Then expertise is not the issue, you are advocating a gear neutral PvP system where once you enter the WZ, it does not matter what gear you have on, everyone will be the same. No thanks. I like to be rewarded for my efforts and improve my character in the process. I am sure there are some, like yourself, who like this type of system, but I do not. If this was so good, and this was the end all be all of PvP for the masses, then one might think it was used by the most popular and successful MMO in North America. Oh wait, it wasn't. It was used by DCUO that had to server merge and go to free to play within a year of being released. If this gear neutral system you speak of was so great, why is DCUO not more popular? According to you, they have the only PvP system worth anything, skill only, no tangible rewards. Sounds fun. So to sum it up, there is a gear neutral PvP system out there that is free to play, why in the world are you coming here and asking Bioware to radically change their PvP system to be the same of a failed MMO. Go play that one if that is what you really want, it will save you $15 a month as well.
  20. Bingo! That is the correct attitude to have. The vast majority of players are PvE type players. I feel that statement is supportable since there are nearly twice as many PvE servers are there are PvP servers. Good or bad, PvE players have been trained to do content for rewards, if there are no tangible rewards, the likelihood of them getting involved is lower. Which means a gear progression based system of some kind.
  21. I am not sure what side you are supporting, but I want expertise of some kind, but in its current form, Columi gear is superior to Champion gear, so because of that, your statement makes no sense to me.
  22. You poll makes no sense, what do you mean PvP stats based on skill? You asked the question and gave options to your poll to skew the results in favor of what you want. I could easily ask the question Do you want PvE gear to be the best gear for PvP? Yes, let those raiders get the best gear and face roll me No, I want PvP gear to reward those that actually PvP You poll is completely biased and worthless.
  23. Yep, and those people who play the game for "fun" how is their talent compared to those who play for a reward? Generally speaking those who have the most talent at a given sport will play for a reward, be that reward a scholarship, money, or opportunity for advancement. Those that play for "fun" generally are not the most talented at whatever sport you are referring to. I would love an example of someone who is at the top of his game and is NOT being rewarded in some way. It is very simple. It has nothing to do with wanting to faceroll lessor geared opponents. You first have to accept THIS IS A GEAR PROGRESSION GAME. There WILL be gear that is better than other gear. There WILL be players who have better gear than other players. This is the FOUNDATION of the game that Bioware created. If you are advocating for a gear neutral PvP system, then this is NOT the game for you. Go find whatever game that uses that system and play that. Now if you have accepted this is a gear progression game, then in order to make the gear different from PvE you need something to make it different. Different play styles, different gear. The way Bioware choose to make it different is through expertise. Wow, I have no idea what game you are playing, or who you are playing with. It has been my experience that as implemented, expertise is pretty useless. I am getting rid of my PvP gear as fast as I can find a PvE equivalent. I both raid and PvP and currently raid gear stomps PvP gear in PvP. As I have previously posted, I am all for implementing an additional tier of PvP gear that can be crafted. I completely agree there is too much of a void between the level 40 pvp gear and centurion gear. But this has absolutely nothing to do with expertise. Well good for you. My friends and I dominate on our server as well, and most of them are in mostly PvE gear. We roll with PvE gear because it is better than PvP gear of equal level.
  24. The patch today is 1.1b I think, 1.11 has NOT been implemented yet. It is on the PTR.
  25. Having two paths to the exact same gear IS the problem. Why should a hardcore raider who has never stepped into a warzone have the best PvP gear? That will make the elite gear club even MORE exclusive.
