  1. I could deal with the bugs... And the downtime... And the clunky UI... The non-existent customer service... If only it wasn't another 12 button theme park grind fest. It just isn't fun to spend hours and days clicking the same few buttons to watch a number increase slightly. Yes, the story can be good at times, but it is amazingly linear given the illusion of having 3 choices at each point. This game will likely go the way of warhammer, and aion, and spellborn, and conan, and daoc, etc. I think the best they can hoe for after deciding to intentionally not innovate in exchange for a known formula is to end up like LOTR, mostly F2P with a small, but loyal following. The starwars name can probably buy them that. But not much more. And please, before you flame me realize that this is not something I hoped for. I would have liked to have seen them make something that was more fun to play, more original, and not just a banal amalgam clone of every failed or near failed mmo over the last 5 years.
  2. Pros: Voice acting, lightsabers Cons: Buggy clone mmo, little foreseeable future TBH, many of the "whiners" are just disappointed that this turned out to be a theme park clone mmo with buggy mechanics. (However much they put into the story.) Hopefully GW2 is more engaging. In the end, other that the voice acting and star wars name, swtor has nothing that recent failed mmo's didn't have, and if history is any lesson, will probably be either going for abject failure or F2P. You can make emotionally based counter arguments if you wish, but the odds are firmly against them.
  3. The only thing that will keep this game form going the way of DAoC, Conan, Warhammer, Spelborne, Aion, etc, will be to realize that the money comes from the customers, not the corporation.
  4. Entitlement? We are paying for it. Paying. Money. That is not "entitlement". They are shutting down the servers every night for 4 hours and not even fixing the bugs people are asking them to, but ones they feel like fixing. People are asking them to fix the crewskill window popups. People are asking them to be able to change the "\" bind key for popping up an nearly undismissable bug ticket window (ironic? with certain keyboards this causes slipping when hitting enter to lose control of your character in pvp) People are asking them to fix the GTN. People are asking them to replace the blue L50 pvp gear that disappeared at launch.. Instead, they fix a "bug" that was keeping people from kill trading on Illum as efficiently as they wanted to. And are taking 4 hours to reboot.
  5. 4 hours of downtime to patch one minor accountancy bugged that has likely already been fully tested on the PTS. Mehtinks someone is putting their ability to milk the time clock at bioware so far ahead of customer satisfaction that it is actually kind of awe inspiring.

    Warzone Bugs

Ran a warzone, huttball, parts other scenery were disappearing which made it hard to maneuver, but we won anyway. Next game, voidstar, they had TEN from the gate, 6 sorcs, 2 mercs, and 2 snipers, I have pictures. Needless to say, we go *****., They were (without even focusing all the way) killing people in less time than it takes to cast a single heal. Full to zero in < 3 secs, repeatedly. Next game, I am trying to heal, but 2 of my team were not on he ops frame, so I was not able to target them, because click targeting friendlies is not possible in wz. I have pictures of that too. How is this possible months after launch?
  7. vs 8 in a voistar wz. They were killing people faster than I could cast a single heal. How is it that they can't tell when they are going over 8? t
  8. Like: Its Star Wars Huttball. Dislikes: Grind based not skill based. And add to the the grind itself is RNG based. Fresh 50's get double shafted by not even having a starting gear set. Once people do get geared they all are clones of each other, as 99% of the gear in the game, even modable, is useless endgame. Pre 50 there should probably be 2 level classes, even with bolstering, as characters under 20-25 don't have any abilities yet. Too much CC, with full root / interrupt combos not counted as cc at all Ability delay, which was not fixed as advertised. WORST TARGETING EVER. Tab goes to people behind you, clicking usually gets nothing, or sometimes wrong person if you are lucky. Designed to be impossible to click on friendly when near enemy. Obnoxious restealth mechanic that can be used to easily (imo), and even when an attack is in the air coming at you and just hasn't hit yet (Project) Healing classes tend to also be reconfigurable into the best DPS classes, out dpsing non healing classes like snipers and such. Crewskills cover op frame by default on mission completion. 4 man premade for 8 man ops hugely benefits large guilds that can field several teams at the same time. and double pop for full 8 man premades. Open world PvP with only 2 factions, which does not work well at all. Cookie cutter amalgam of all "mainstream" mmos of the last few years, only poorly implemented on the mechanical end. Other than huttball, no originality I can see.
  9. I think the next game to do this correctly will be huge, tbh. People are sick, sick, sick of the poorly implemented clones.
  10. It doesn't even seem to care where you click, or understand that when you reclick it means you want to target someone else. But at this point I am no longer surprised.
  11. This is not an "aparent delay" issue, or any of the other bioware BS i have been herign. Here is the scenario. I am in a WZ. I have not casted anything in a few seconds, so I know I am no where near on Gcd (besides, i have queue enabled,, so it shouldn't mater.) I press the hotkey combo for a move when lag is high. I see the icon flash Nothing happens.. ... ... This happens at least once or twice every WZ. It's gotten to the point where I pan for it an subconsciously am ready to rehit the keys every time it fails. I am near coming to the conclusion that they have no plans to ever fix this, as they are lying about its existence and trying to make us believe they fixed it, which is the dumbest placebo strat I have ever seen. It's to easy to notice to be believed that it's been fixed when it is still happening. This is getting annoying.
  12. That's why you would tweak abilities inside (Attribute override). It would take some work, but it's possible.
  13. You could still do that in warzones if you like. But the point of arena would be ladder. Plain and simple. And if you don't think PvP challenge, ladder rankings, and fun play are enough to keep a lot of people playing, you are ignoring a lot of incredibly popular games.
  14. That's because it costs sooo much less than adding new story content. It's backlashing big time though. A lot of people are just sick of it. Same old grind, different skin. EDIT: Let me put it another way. People wonder why the devs took away the ability to hoard champ bags and use RNG on the battlemaster bags, despite it making people mad, and not adding to the story in any way. It is because the difficulty in getting the gear you know you need just to play right IS the content, as far as the PvP team is concerned. The problem is, it isn't fun anymore. It's been done to death.
  15. Ya, like I said, idk if it would even work with this game, which is unfortunate. The first thing need to tackle for the PvP side of things is still ability lag, imo. Hitting a button and having nothing happen to taking 5 seconds for an instant animation when laggy. This would propably be hard, as this is the core frame loop stuff that's really tricky. The second thing, or maybe even first given how much easier it would be to do, would be to remove a lot of the CC in the game, fix the resolve system, and give melee tools for keeping on ranged despite that.
