  1. I'm honestly floored that this topic didn't get one reply yesterday. What happened everypony? There is some Grade A trolling in here.
  2. I was spectacle at first, but then I was motorcycle with the alligator and it was 'k.
  3. Hit "R" only and you should get the behavior you want. Admittedly though, it is still a bit wonky...
  4. I'm not all that upset, and I'm not floored with Bioware's response, but it's not that big of a deal to me... but I love nicknames: Biounaware.
  5. *shrug* Not sure a whole new topic was necessary. This is the nth topic on this issue, it's pretty well understood.
  6. I don't think there's any misunderstanding. The de facto point of view on these forums is more or less what you just stated. It's been stated/requested many times in less words and more eloquently. Source: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=183716
  7. That's funny, we would have that issue when we killed them one at a time. We had our gunslinger take them out at range and we killed him the first time we did that. That was the first, and only, time the third pyramid actually scored a hit.
  8. The Kinetic tree is indeed very fun, there's a proc and priority rotation built in that is actually quite enjoyable. On top of that, situational awareness is key. It's a very well built spec and class, I've really enjoyed the uniqueness of it myself. After Act I the story actually becomes quite enjoyable, the saving Jedi masters gets pretty old but after that, it really is fascinating. Glad you're having fun!
  9. i think you misunderstood me because, upon reexamining his comment I may have misunderstood what he meant by secondary stat. I assumed he was referring to def and such as the primary stat (I know those are secondaries, I was being a derp). But yes, you are quite correct, END is very dominant. Simple miscommunication
  10. It stays that way (thus making many of these posts pointless...)
  11. Right, you just explained WHY they shouldn't focus on catering to the 1% of the "hardcore." Many people sub for 1 or 2 months and leave, agreed. So maybe if they cater to them, instead of the 1% of the population that resubscribes consistently, they'll sub for months to come! Fact is, the uber hardcore progression raider is a sheep. They will consistently flock to the most juicy content and pay their subscription. Evidence: see every so called hardcore MMO released in the past 15 years.
  12. I think most people stopped caring about your post when you pretended to represent a group of people you do not represent. Furthermore, I am the 99% (lul...).
  13. I feel ya, the main problem is that depth perception is inherently more difficult on 2d surfaces like, say, computer monitors! I do hope they do add a void zone, or at the very least a shadow (it makes no sense for their NOT to be a shadow, AFAIK Soa's prison chamber doesn't defy the universe), but at the same time I've more or less been able to get Soa under it 100% of the time now. (Unless of course I really am missing the third one every time). I generally just pull into basically first person and look up at the floating pyramid. Soa is right in front of me, I can his shield clipping into the pyramid sometimes! And then, BLAMMO--nothing happens except I get hit for an exuberant amount of damage and Soa remains shielded.
  14. Well, unfortunately I am not german. that being said i've encountered that topic multiple times hoping to decipher what it says. So quasi bump/plead for more help!
  15. As my guild has been forming into SWTOR the few of us at 50 have been running norm EV and what not. We're just about to step into a more regular schedule, to take on HMs when we have the comp and after post launch blues, but there's a few outstanding bugs that concern us. First and foremost is the reason this topic exists. Every other bug I speak of there's a way around (mostly just brute forcing). But Soa in P3 with the floating Pyramids we've been having issues. Namely positioning. I myself am tanking this sucker but after the second pyramid drop, the boss seems to take a turn for the buggier. Pretty much without fail I have been unable to get him successfully hit by the third pyramid. From reports in the raid, about half of the raid reports that Soa is right under the pyramid and the rest says he's about 10 yards ish away. Here's the kicker on this... I still get hit by the Pyramid. We haven't been bothering wiping on it over and over and over again as this is just what happens. The pyramid seemingly lands right on top of Soa and his shield remains. Obv. there is SOME rng in this fight. Who gets trapped, etc. A pyramid set to land across the platform and Soa decides to cast a spell halfway while walking there. But this bug on top of it all just is icing. Let me repeat, many have reported Soa is correctly positioned (others say he is clearly not under it as well). It has always been the third pyramid that has this issue it seems. Any tips or if anyone can confirm this bug. If it is truly a bug, we may just skip Soa in the future and work on HMs or the new KP bosses. Danke! PS. I'm a Shadow tank. Raid comp usually is myself, an off tank (usually just dpsing), 2 healers (commando and sage), 2 ranged dps (sage and gunslinger), 2 melee (vanguard and sentinel)
  16. OK, I guess I'll feed the troll again. I'm a sucker for people who lie. Please, quote yourself where you said you tried a different talent spread. Oh wait! You didn't say you tried it. I don't know which attitude you speak of, but I tend to not treat people with respect who do not give other's suggestions the time of day. Your topic boils down to this: "PLZ HELP WUT AM I DOING WRONG" People suggest things. "LULZ YOUR SUGGESTIONS ARE WORTHLESS, CLASS IZ BROKEN!!11!1!" Don't preclude the possibility you're wrong. Because, I'm sorry starshine, you're being a bit of a tool when people offer you suggestions and you don't try them. You came in here with this topic, not to ask for help, but for the forums to feed your preconceived notion that the class is broken. Despite your seemingly innocent question, it's quite clear that all you wanted was for people to agree with you. Obviously, you're not interested in discussing or trying anything new. Wow, I really responded again... *sigh*
  17. Well, I told you what you could be doing wrong. And you don't seem to be giving it any sort of thought. I will not be replying again unless you seem to be putting any noticeable effort into resolving your issue!
  18. Here's the problem though, I can tank H esseles just fine... And I have the same stats as you. I'm not saying L2P because you apparently do already know how to play. Perhaps the group you're running with is doing something wrong. I can't say for sure. But something is wrong if you're having issues. IE not a broken class, I myself do not have issues (despite the same stats) nor have I had issues. So, *shrug* You can ignore all suggestions and insist you're right and be wrong, or you can try some of these suggestions and report how you've done.
  19. I have no real clue as to what you said Allexj, but I'll hazard a guess and respond in earnest to said assumption. No, we are not broken. We merely excel at single target tanking. For the areas that need AoE tanks we are not the best choice, no. But we can do just fine in a pinch. I for one don't want to see the tanks homogenized to the point where no one excels at anything and isn't weaker in some areas. Class balance and variety is an important part of strategy, I would dislike to see it go away .
  20. To be honest, I think you've already found what you need to do to play like that. I played much the same way leveling in the Kinetic tree, I didn't go into the infiltration tree at all and felt very stealthy. At the same time I also could put up a glorious fight against all sorts of threats.
  21. I was having issues AoE tanking and I did two things and the problem has all but disappeared. Also note that I have incredibly similar stats to you. (Like, we're less than a % off on your mitigation and I have about 200 more hp) First, I realized if I tried to tank everything, I'd end up tanking nothing or simply die. Thus I let, nay encouraged, my DPS to focus down some of the mobs quickly whilst I build threat on two to three targets by rotating my single target rotation amongst targets. I cannot stress how huge that was. Second, I switched from the 31 points in kinetic tree to 25, picking up force in balance in the balance tree. This really made AoE tanking a breeze, first picking up adds from distance (security drones adds in HM Esseles for example) was 25x easier. Way less force was used to threat with whirlwind and/or slow time and then I could focus on what keeps me alive. Beyond these two main things, another thing you should keep in mind. Cooldowns. Use them. Use them on the AoE pulls. Two minutes isn't really a long time, feel free to use them. They'll be back up for boss fights etc. Take biochem and use your Rakata Medpac, a 90s cd for one of the best heals; this helps your healer and yourself. In EV, on the trash between Assault Droid and Gharj me and a guardian tank split the pulls and use a single target threatting rotation between our 2-3 targets. Keep in mind the "single target" rotation for shadows affects many targets. You simply split the damage now too and dps don't pull off. Ultimately though, I don't foresee as great AoE tanks. We are not the Prot Pallies of SWTOR, we are somewhere between Bear Tanks and Blood DKs (if you want a WoW comparison :3)
  22. Mindlessly stacking any stat is not how a tank should ever be geared. Both camps here clearly have that understood. But you have to consider a tanks role. Your primary job is to hold threat and mitigate incoming damage. DPS is secondary. Yet this is an interesting dynamic, as increasing DPS is paramount for keeping threat. When you can't hold threat you need to reassess your gearing and/or spec, maybe this means more willpower, who knows! When you're holding threat--increase your mitigation. DPS just comes naturally and is not, nor should it be, a concern. For example, I swapped to a Force In Balance spec from a Slow Time spec. Best decision I've made yet on my Shadow. Despite less frequent AoEs I've held threat on AoE fights much better. This was better than any stat decision I've made. But between Endurance and Willpower, I am neither concerned nor giving it a thought over what is my main priority. These stats pale in comparison to the mitigation gained from Defense, Shield, and Absorption. And don't forget we still need accuracy! As someone stated above, the fact is the stats we need come on Endurance heavy gear. You can retool some things here and there, but you are retooling because you are high on X mitigation stat. If the result of that is higher endurance or will power so be it. It's all a balancing act and is definitely down to choice. What gets the baddie down? You have to do what you have to do.
  23. http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lkc1t87D4y1qe66alo1_500.jpg Couldn't resist. Don't pander to me, kid. One tiny crack in the hull, and our blood boils in thirteen seconds. Solar flare might crop up, cook us in our seats. And wait till you're sitting pretty with a case of Andorian shingles. See if you're still so relaxed when your eyeballs are bleeding! Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence. Space combat is anything but boring! How do the kids say it these days? "You mad 'cuz you bad." The space missions are meant to grab your attention for a few minutes--a distraction from the leveling grind. If you play them constantly, you're doing it wrong. It isn't, despite it's best efforts, Star Fox.
  24. ~.~ I've had this legacy for awhile, and the character as well. Needless to say, I'm super proud
  25. Not entirely sure what you mean here. Yes, you could save up for the weapon... But if you're looking to get more expertise *faster* why would you get your weapon first?
