  1. Remember with Amazon if you replace the www with smile they donate part of your purchases to charity.
  2. Let's say they did allow reservations of names prior to the purge. Whoever reserves the name first gets it. Obviously the other folks who were hoping to score the same name will be upset if they were not first. Let's say they don't allow reservations of names prior to the purge. Whoever name changes their character first following the purge gets it. Obviously the other folks who were hoping to score the same name will be upset if they were not first. Is there any benefit to doing it one way vs. the other? None that I can see. On the other hand, you would need to add a reservation system to facilitate the reservations so there is a reason not to do it. Just try to get the name after the purge, if it's not associated to a subscriber account or an active account.
  3. I for one am keeping my untypeable character names as cred of playing this game before they purged names.
  4. Even the random name generator in this game fails to have enough "imagination" 9 times outta 10. Even uncommon names are taken.
  5. The random name generator is giving me taken names. Can BW add special characters to their random name generator so it might generate names that aren't taken?
  6. I've been given many opportunities to join a guild so far on my fantastic adventure to level ... 14? But none will proclaim themselves to be the drunk sailors mature chat. When I ask, it's as if they think that's a bad thing. There were a couple I wasn't sure on, I'm sure they lied to say they aren't thinking it'd scare me off. Obviously they don't read the forums close enough!
  7. Can we dump all the F2P people to special servers? I don't want to play with them.
  8. Coming back after a while, man tough to find a name. It's not just stupid stuff like "Luke Skywalker". For example, create a character and go through the random name generator. Virtually all names created by the random name generator are taken. Can't they program the random name generator to not randomly generate taken names? I'd imagine it's more of a problem with SWTOR vs other games due to F2P and the low number of servers. So, -, ', and special characters eh?
  9. I don't know. Are you capable of moving your mouse and clicking a button? If so, I think you can in fact need the BoE stuff. I don't see why you couldn't, anyway.
  10. Thanks to companions I can need everything and then sell it to vendor, and not have to explain to people that my need for credits is equal to their need for gear. This is a game, if you can use something whether it's for equipping or selling or just because you like the icon, need that sucker. If someone doesn't like it, tough. They had the opportunity to click need just like you.
  11. I'd love to have access to move some more UI stuff. Playing at 6000x1080, you swing your head left to right quite a bit since the windows you're looking at are at the far ends, and often you need to work with both sides. Like when using a vendor.
  12. Probably they just flag the name and you're required to change it, but they don't check the new name. Once reported/caught it'll probably be changed again.
  13. I work swing shift, so maintenance at 2am = I can't play when I get home. Now, I realize I'm in a minority, so I'll deal. Of course, this past week was terrible, servers were down half the week for my play time. Yes, I imagine you could do 6 or 7am and still be off peak for US players (I've got no ideas on the euros). Of course, if maintenance runs over it's scheduled time, they give themselves a bit more time to get servers backup before peak by bringing them down earlier.
  14. It's a gift for someone though. After I subscribe and cancel my subscription to get the 30 days, (what a laugh), is the card, as you say, on file? I don't want to give others access to my credit cards for obvious reasons. If the card was deleted...
  15. So, I was planning to gift TOR to a family member for Christmas. Now, I've got a new decision. I figured I'd let them play the 30 days and if they like it they would then continue paying. If they didn't, their access is cut off at 30 days, no problems there. I would have certainly expected reminder emails to be sent telling them if they didn't do something their subscription would expire. Obviously that's not a decision I have available, though I thought I did. The game is a retail version, still packaged in retail packaging and is unopened. So, do I return the game and perhaps pick up something else, or do I hunt down a game card so they can actually play the game I planned to gift, or do I just tell them to pay up for a Christmas gift... No, I can't do the last. I'm either returning this one and getting them something else or I'm going to find a card. Probably whichever is easier. How wide spread are the game cards? Can I pick one up at a Fred Meyer?
