  1. L70 is cap now, as mentioned. And yeah, you'll want to just start with a new toon to get reacclimated. Two reddit pages that will greatly help: Major Changes Returning Player (second one is pretty gigantic, so I'd start with first ... and/or just dive in to the game!) And speaking of gigantic, there's also an incredible sticky just made in this forum: Ultimate Guide of Guides
  2. Hmmm. I haven't bought one, so I can only go what I've read. Here's SWTOR's official description of the process And here's a showing that it should have a bind time. Scroll to 1:45 in the video. If you have a single box that looks like in the video, and don't see that timer at the bottom, and you didn't go through all those steps to unlock it on your present toon (the r-clicking and the warning screens), then all I can guess is you have a glitch. In which case, definitely send in a customer service ticket in-game.
  3. I searched through the video (awesome job by Vulkk keeping it focused!). And found the reference at ~47:10: By the way he said it, it is not clear if he meant more like: a) Shadow of Revan proper (Rishi, etc.), or b) Forged Alliances (FP with both pre, in-FP, and post cutscenes), or c) both The pessimist in me assumes they meant "b", unfortunately. Would that be all that different than present Umbara/Copero approach (in format, if not quality)? But would love to see that as followup Q to Charles.
  4. Mine had been getting progressively worse in the last week, to unplayable today. Called Comcr@p, they did their usual modem reset thing and ... it worked ?!?? So far so good. Fingers crossed. [Edit .... and Saturday night ... it's baaaack ]
  5. Take a look again, it should be on a bind timer (36 hrs??). After that timer expires, you can move it to another character.
  6. A Light Sided Twi'lek was my first (and only full) playthrough, though mine was male. I think the majority seem to like to play the female as bats**t crazy. So, of course you know you were a slave. So I figure that goes one of two ways: (1) DS: you are driven by that resentment, and want to gain power and use it over your overlords, and pretty much everyone else (2): Your good nature is able to surmount that, and you use your growing power to try to bring enlightenment to all you encounter. (obvious LS paragon) Ok, I'm moving into SPOILER territory here a bit, so I'll keep it vague: I think a human is a better fit for the SI than a twi'lek, but others manage to rationalize it better than I do.
  7. Yeah, um, okay... I hope you got it off your chest now. And that today goes better for you.
  8. StevetheCynic gave you the gist. I'll add a couple of points: I see you are a new sub, welcome! I'll give my usual advice: Don't use "precious" Cartel Coins on purchases such as armor and weapons. These are cosmetic and afford no play advantage. And you can get plenty of nice ones as you continue your adventure (or buy off GTN). You will find as you play that you get millions of credits. But CC are a limited resource. Wait, play a while, then you will have a better feel for your priorities. What would I buy with them? I'll attach an old post of mine that is still mostly relevant (Treek is no longer worth buying).
  9. Beat me by one FTP account. Now I have to go make another I have Pref 70's. They do not get CXP, do not get CR crates, and can't even see what the bonus activity of the day is!
  10. Estelindis pretty much had it right (well, everyone had good points). The purple in your guide is now gold/yellow, the uber-expensive gifts that are only rank 6. Guide or not, they aren't available at ranks 1-5. You apparently used the "pink" gift, which goes from rank 1-5 (you used the rank 5 version) These max out at 1065 with the 30% altruism bonus. I was going to point you to Dulfy's guide, but it is apparently same as what you used. And yeah, Dulfy uses "love" as top influence. My logic would have the order like<love<favorite, since you can love many things, but only one would be favorite. But that's me being critical. You used the right gift, it is just "Pink" not "Purple" (i.e. Gold).
  11. http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=9567800&postcount=155 [i bolded the relevant]
  12. No, that's the one he's referring to (Aurora Cannon/Long Shots for Rep/Imp). But that boss is optional. And yes, difficult to solo due to his self heals. But you can just avoid him, r-click the glowy sphere (automatically uses grenade in your mission inventory) to complete the quest. So, yes, now easily (if a slog) soloable for the quest. Bonus boss is challenging to solo.
  13. For class story, the proper rotation is: 1,1,1,1,1,... Hmmm, maybe I'll try a playthrough where that's all I use! Okay maybe not, but now I'm seriously considering a Sage playthrough using Forcequake only.
  14. Since there's no Deception Assassin update to 5.0 there, I think you'll have to translate from the mirror Infiltration Shadow: http://dulfy.net/2017/01/15/swtor-5-0-infiltration-shadow-pvp-guide-by-krea/
  15. The general rule is: you keep what you have unlocked. So, you can continue to use those purple mounts you’ve unlocked on your current toon. You also will be able to make new toons and raise them up to L70. However, you will be locked out of the whole Galactic Command thing (no command ranks, or crates), including your trooper. Sorry, not sure how that affects purple misc items like those awarded mounts. Generally, I don’t think mounts are locked out. Tell me those items and I’ll see if I have them on my Pref account. Not sure about all those emotes. But back to my main point: don’t worry about every little item. The big issues are covered in the reddit page, and good tips in that other thread. I’d focus on: a) Having fun b) Collecting LOTS of credits so you can buy Legacy and account-wide unlocks so you ease the transition to Pref!
  16. Someone else posted on the preceding heroic in the chain. See here. Maybe they are on SF as well? If so, maybe hook up and you've got two. I know how much a pain in the a** it is, so if I'm on tonight, I'll look for you. But you'll still need two more. If you have a guild, that's the best way. And see my minor spoiler in that other thread. Best of luck.
  17. Short answer: you keep almost everything. Don't worry. Longer answer: "F2P" is sometimes used generically to cover both your original F2P status and Preferred. You will become Preferred after your sub runs out, which is just a (better) subset of F2P. Check this recent thread for info on what you keep, and what you might want to buy to enhance your game when it transitions to Preferred status. If you have any more Q's, feel free to ask away. Oh, and good choice to give the subscription a try. I'd suggest you then give Pref a month or so. Since you got by as pure F2P for years, it should be a piece of cake. OTOH, after getting a taste of the perks of being a sub, maybe you'll be jaded
  18. FYI... "To access the HK bonus chapter, you must have been a subscriber from Jan 11 to August 1 [2016]" That's from Dulfy Good luck finishing the quests! You will definitely need a group for the next mission, so if you don't have a guild, probably best bet is to go to fleet or Nar Shaddaa and start asking (or go to your server forum and ask there). It took me 2 years to complete it. But lately for some odd reason, I see a lot more people requesting help. Even offering credits.
  19. It's called Commanding Legacy. It's a perk you have to buy (2M credits), in your Legacy > Global Unlocks > Other window. One time buy for your Legacy (server). It will give you a 25% CXP bonus once for each mirrored class that reaches 300 CR for all toons below 300. For example: You have a 300 Knight, Sith Warrior, Trooper. You get a 50% bonus (25% for the Trooper, 25% for the Knight/Warrior mirror). Raise a BH up and it is still 50%. Raise a gunslinger to 300 and you go to 75%. And again, that bonus only goes for toons under 300 CR, so any future leveling above 300 for those toons is unaffected.
  20. Even with your description, I'm unclear what you are looking for that isn't in those googled guides. So, first, I'll list the obvious source of guides (which presumably you already found): http://dulfy.net/2016/12/22/swtor-5-0-class-guides-master-list/ But it seems you may just be looking for some basics? My general approach (from a highly mediocre player who finds the above guides to be a bit daunting): First, get familiar with your abilities. Refer to Dulfy / swtor_miner's discipline calculator for this. Focus on the Discipline section. The 4 active abilities you get there will be a key part of your rotation. Some of the class and advanced class abilities will be superseded by these. Read, and reread the descriptions for your discipline tree passives. You should start to see a flow to them, how one will "proc" another. For example: Gunnery Commando Grav Round enables High Impact Bolt, but has a 1.5s activation L42 Vortex Bolt removes the activation on next Grav Round. Demolition Round gets a 25% bonus if affacted by Grav Round So you can imagine you may start with Vortex Bolt, then Grav Rd, then HI Bolt, then DR. Etc. I'd also recommend getting the warzones training dummy for your ship (500K, from your Legacy > Global Unlocks > Other window). for practice. Get the Warzones one over the Operations since the WZ one is set to your level. The Ops one is set to max level 70. I'm sure others can give you more specific advice for each class/discipline. Good luck!
  21. And I'll second my alt-account's huge thumbs up to the OP for this thread! You might want to change the attribution on the acronym link to Icestar, the OP on that thread.
  22. Maybe this is why I see so many requests lately for this heroic! That's the other way around it: ask someone to group. But a couple of bewares: 1) If you do get someone, you probably have to reset the phase. When I've joined folk, I can't get off the platform, so they have to come back, and eventually exit the instance. 2) The subsequent H4 really does require 4 people since it has some puzzles all the way through it. So, you'll have to group for that one anyway. 3) And having done that, you WILL be able to get the Star Fortress hidden achievement done (I'm guessing that is why you are so persistent!). BUT (small spoiler alert)...
  23. Thanks, I noticed that. And agree on preferring less frill. Would be nice if they offered all four of the Relaxed series (Uniform, Jumpsuit, Vestments as well as the present Tracksuit)
  24. Second the covert pieces Add Relaxed Uniform (might as well make that the entire Relaxed sets) Contraband Slot Machine Dr. Oggurobb holostatue (yeah, I know this was never for sale. I just want to see all the whining on this "one time only" subscriber award being made available ) ... and while at it, please lower the prices
