  1. Tempest Edge Seeks You! What does Tempest Edge name actually mean? Its a group that stands for surviving the war against the Zakuul together. They don't do anything specific or follow a path they simply do what they have to survive. Who are we? Tempest Edge. Formally The Order of Ruin are a group that have found each other again after many years and they decided to stick together once again but not to be the Order. To be something new, something different. Tempest Edge have come become a pirate group in order to survive this war. To stay off the radar to make their credits and provide a life for one another. The Tempest will go out into the galaxy and get into the life of crime. The group have moved on. The sort of things they are doing are selling spice, selling weapons and such, but they will also explore and go on adventures to try and find things worth credits. They will do many things such as taking territories etc but there are also the things they will -NOT- do. They will not bring innocent civilians into it, they have no need take liberties, their enemies are only those who oppose them. How do we tell our stories in events? We will be using the raid warning system for the most part of it to tell the story of the environment and the enemy with a simple roll system /roll with a guide used inside the raid warning emotes. Now I know what you're thinking "How can we tell where our enemy is located?" Well it will be explained in such a way you will know, however we have taken into consideration that this could get dull without any actual enemies to see or makers at least to see where the enemy is located. What we will do in many occasions is emote the environment and emote the enemy actions however write (( free kill )) and you kill the mobs in that location we will also use different variations of that by implementing rolls even in these situations which means people can do proper emotes suited to their character and according to the roll they get if there is one at that given time on the enemy for better immersion. We will also be using people who like to play the part of the NPC in most cases the enemy of Tempest Edge for the story we're working on at that given time. What is your system of coordinating events? The dungeon master will typically only be there as OOC so they do not have to role-play and run an event at the same time but sometimes you may see the DM also there in character. The dungeon master will open the event with an area emote, describing what's there, if there's anything to interact with. The DM will also pay great attention to the emotes and always try to provide something for someone to do, but the IC leader of the group will also be doing that. Anything is possible to search or interact with, looking under a box, looking for a terminal, sending up a probe droid to look around an area. These are things we try to provide in DM emotes but we also want players to have that freedom to explore and do other things, which means an event could go very different way. The guild could end up actually failing their mission. We try to make it feel and be as organic as possible. As for combat. The Dungeon master will raid warning emote the enemies and what they are doing then give out rolls by putting out the player name and a roll number. The player just /rolls and if their roll is higher than what was given out, your defence was successful. As for attacking in combat. The player and emote whenever they want, The DM will get back to you as soon as possible with an attacking roll. If your roll has been successful the DM will confirm the success of your emote by putting your kill inside the raid warning emote. What else will we do? We will be willing to work with other guilds as alliance or enemies if that's what a guild wishes, we will be able to work alongside and adapt different styles of role playing to make any stories work which anyone wants work with or against us on. What can we do for you? Tempest Edge can't always do main plots let's be honest we are going to get brain fried coming up with new ideas constantly to keep it fresh, just putting it out there we're all human after all. So we will be offering a character progression system of events to players for their characters. What does this mean? Well i'll tell you. It means that on your application form on the website, you will be asked if you want a personal event based around your character for progression, this could be a mission or it could be to deal with a rival, we could most likely make something work under any circumstance even if it has to be tweaked or changed in small ways to make it also fit with the guild. Now this won't be our main focus but if the chosen player who applies to the guild decides to fill that out as its a choice its not a must. Then we will get around to doing it for you, might take a while or it might come sooner than you think. The player would be notified and spoken to first on how they want it to be structured. Breakdown of events: Personal Progression Events - These are events where the character would be going on a solo mission, these are a way to deliver other parts of the story that we're trying to tell in the main chapter. Ways to give evidence out towards who or what the enemy is in the chapter. It is also an opportunity for people to have personal progression done. So if the character had debts they needed to pay off, they can go do that or go deal with it in some other way. Main plot - Main plot events will cover the main story arch of what we are doing as a guild, some plots may last days to weeks with twists and fun enemies. Side plot - Side plot events would be stuff done on the side on the fly not planned. Lets just say there's a lot of people on someone could do their own event relevant to the plot to add to it. However side events could also be anything from being away from the whole fighting to something more light hearted, so for example instead of going and fighting something or applying something more to a main plot, it could be something as simple has having a few beers. A social gathering if you want. Personal plot - People have the choice and opportunity to have character progression missions, however there is only one of these done per person. This is not someone we shall focus on but its something we will get around to if you put a request in the application form. What we will try to do during events? We will try and have everyone involved in some form or another if they choose that, taking say a turn to have what I would call "Epic moment" which means on the "Raid warning" you do something cool to make it feel like your character has actually contributed to the event. What are epic moments? Epic moments are parts of events which a player can basically be the hero of that moment in the event and do something cool so they feel like they have actually contributed to the event to feel more immersed and part of the story. Now I understand this is a very difficult thing to do so when planning my events which I do via wordpad, the players name would be written to who's doing what. This means I have a record of all players who have had an epic moment during a plot, so I will basically go around in a circle with people for epic moments so everyone gets a turn at it, because well there won't be an epic moment on every single event, just some of them. But I assure you, every player will get an opportunity to have an epic moment during these events over the course of their time in the guild. No this isn't a one time thing, one player could end up having several epic moment events as time goes on but every player will get one at some point. Y'know how it is trying to figure these things out to make it fit. Of course these are freedom of choice they are not forced upon anyone we just like to think it gives more a feel to players involved in the events, but as said it won't be every event but there will be quite a few per chapter that we do and per chapter there could be 2-4 events maybe more, really depends on what we want to do. So everyone would get a turn at this. How to join? The application can be found at our website, just register to the website and fill out an application form. Once this is done we will be in touch very soon to arrange and IC interview for you to bring you into the guild. Guild site: http://theorderofruin.enjin.com/ Who can join? Any class any race can apply to the guild. Ranking? Initiate - You're a new member to the guild/ on trial for a short period of time. Member - You're a full member of the guild. Founder/Enforcer - Leader of the group. How will the ranking system work between Sith/Agent/Merc? The guild has changed from its military stance to now a criminal guild due to the Zakuul invasion. So we're now running it as a triad leadership ICLY. In criminal guilds there are the bosses and there are the members. This applies to being force sensitive characters or not. Everyone else is the same in terms of power. So obviously agents/mercs will have orders but one thing we will not be tolerating is people role-playing. "Wash my shoes, fetch me tea" and bullying. The idea of this is "I want my soldiers in best condition they can be" having it through fear isn't the way to have soldiers fight the best way, as these agents/mercs will be employed! Therefore they are paid for the work they do and they need to earn it obviously so all that bullying things and stuff i've witnessed in role-playing won't be happening because i'll be honest that's no fun RP for anyone and we want people to have fun and RP as agents and mercs. I understand the universe and power structure inside the empire but there is a limit to what's fun in RP and what is not. The way its explained is, Marl will want his forces in best mental and physical condition they can be in. So having their morale screwed up isn't going to do anybody any good. Are there any restrictions to the guild? Yes there are some restrictions to the guild one of them being Darth's why do you ask? Simply because if a player is the rank of Darth they would already be an officer in a guild or a guild leader in our opinion at least, that is just our opinion not fact. However we're not saying Darths cannot apply we would just look at the case very very carefully. Do you have a guild stronghold? Yes we are using the Yavin Stronghold and its fully decorated. Do you have a guild ship? Yes we have a guild ship and its still a working progress. Who to contact if you have questions? We would like to request that this post is left clean for bumps and advertisement, we would much prefer if you contact the following people in game, whisper/mail or here on enjin mail or if prefered leave a question here and we'll get back to you. FAQ's Are you a military guild? No. We're more pirates/crew/ if anything else. Do you take alts? Yes, each player is allowed one alt with their one main, this allows us to monitor activity better. How active are you expected to be? We ask that all our members are online at least every 20 days. Do you encourage members to run host events? Yes we do in fact, we just ask that the event is talked about oocly with Myself and the officer team. before doing it. We also offer help to run the event too. Leader: Marloran Officers: Serua, and Jesna

  3. The Order of Ruin seeks you! Who are we? The Order of Ruin is a group within the Sith order striving to serve the Empire. The Order of Ruin get their orders from the higher up ranking Lords within the order. These orders could be anything from dealing with a small encounter to a large one, foreign and domestic. By following the sphere of defence. The way we would explain their orders, they would come directly from higher up sith ranking officials within the empire, when the officers/myself ICly would relay them ICLY to tell the story of whatever we are working on. This is essentially military role-playing, we go here and we do this and that, obviously myself and the officers are going to spend a lot of time on storylines to explain why they are doing this and why they are going here and what exactly the enemy is at the given time of the story-line we are trying to tell at that given time. As we all know roleplaying is about telling a story and being part of one. How do we do this? We will be using the raid warning system for the most part of it to tell the story of the environment and the enemy with a simple roll system /roll with a guide used inside the raid warning emotes. Now I know what you're thinking "How can we tell where our enemy is located?" What If I'm not a high enough level for the planet? What I would do here is. I would ask you to come along to the briefing anyway and I would assign you a different mission from everyone else on a lower level planet and the next day which doesn't have an event planned. I would do your own event for you so you don't miss out on an event. Said player would at least get something out of it. What are epic moments? Epic moments are parts of events which a player can basically be the hero of that moment in the event and do something cool so they feel like they have actually contributed to the event to feel more immersed and part of the story. Now I understand this is a very difficult thing to do so when planning my events which I do via word pad, the players name would be written to whose doing what. Enforcer - You're an officer of the guild IC and OOC. Leader - Leader of the group. How will the ranking system work between Sith/Agent/Merc? The Sith are obviously in control since its the Sith Empire, but its not going to be like. "I am Sith hear me roar" because that isn't fun for anyone, so the agents/mercs won't be bullied around. Of course their will be orders given but as stated even my character "Marloran" will take orders from higher ranking lords which the order do missions from. So obviously agents/mercs will have orders but one thing we will not be tolerating is people role-playing. "Wash my shoes, fetch me tea" and bullying. The idea of this is "I want my soliders in best condition they can be" having it through fear isn't the way to have soliders fight the best way, as these agents/mercs will be employed! Therefore they are paid for the work they do and they need to earn it obviously so all that bullying things and stuff i've witnessed in role-playing won't be happening because i'll be honest thats no fun RP for anyone and we want people to have fun and RP as agents and mercs. No we do not currently have a guild ship but it is something we inspire to have in the future as its a lot of working to get a guild ship and the justification for having a guild ship could be easily explained, its simply not a dreadnaught class ship but one of the smaller class of imperial ships. Who to contact if you have questions? We would like to request that this post is left clean for bumps and advertisement, we would much prefer if you contact the following people ingame, whisper/mail or here on enjin mail. Officers: Serua, Ba-Rul
  4. Hello. I thought I would add my thoughts on this one. I think a better idea in regards to replaying the class story could be done by doing the following: Once you've completed your class story you get an achievement in legacy right? So what if you could simply speak to an NPC to just watch your cutscenes of your class story. However! You must have completed the class story in order to watch it. I personally don't think this is a feature that will be added but it would be nice to just sit back and be able to watch your own character go through the story without having to actually play again. Okay okay. I know "Just go watch it on youtube" Its not the same as its not your own character.
  5. Hello. I would suggest -YOU- come back and see the game for yourself to see what -YOU- think of the game to see if it has improved for you. To see if you wish to stay, whats the harm you haven't canceled your sub anyway? So you aren't losing out on anything if you return and try it for a little while to find out you dislike it. If disliking it is the case you can simply remove your sub and save yourself some cash monthly. If you like it then happy days you've found something you enjoy playing.
  6. Hello. There is nothing wrong with people wanting to role-play out their wedding. Regardless of their reasoning behind it, it doesn't matter at all. However coming on here and bashing/trolling them is just down right rude. Threatening to troll from some of the other people posting. Is just really bad form, if role-playing isn't your thing you simply move on and just leave it at that instead of wasting everyones time coming on here and just bashing people on the internet.
  7. Hello. The 25 limit probably has a lot do with how the game is designed. I don't think Bioware has put it in here to purposely annoy people. I'm not saying this isn't stupid having a limit, it is. At least the limit could be increased but you never know, Bioware might increase the NPC cap and ask you to pay Cartel Coins for it and to be honest that seems very likely.
  8. Hey. If you don't like the game, then you can always leave. Personally I think the game is fine, i'm not saying the game is perfect. TOR has its flaws we all know that. However coming on here and moaning about it will do nothing. Please lock this thread before it turns into trolling and just insulting people.
  9. Hello all. I shall share my thoughts on the matter. If someone asks what game you play and you reply with your main game as SWTOR, you are simply answering a question. The opinion of someone else online does not really matter including my own. If this is the game you like to play then this is the game you like to play, thats all there is too it. People bash the game for many reasons but there are also many who would say that SWTOR is a good MMO. I'm not saying TOR is without its flaws, no game is without its flaws. Its all down to what people prefer. I shall give a small example. BF series vs CoD series. These two games have die fans which bad mouth each other, always have and they will always will. So I propose this question, Why should MMO's be any different?
  10. Yo. To OP: Well man after looking over your spec you pretty much have what I am running, almost the same infact and I get solid FPS anywhere I go on the game. I would check to make sure you have everything updated, video drivers, sound drivers and make sure you have the latest version of direct x installed. Also tweak around with some of the video settings, lower a few things but keep most at highest y'know its up to you mix it around a bit fiddle with it to get the correct set up for your machine but that machine there should take almost all of TOR's settings on max.
  11. I think this is a fantastic idea and it would be a very good selling point to the game. I would do this with my Sith Warrior and Agent and my Guardian all over again..
  12. To answer to your reply. I said the mindset of role-playing like people thinking okay these are my character and this is my main role-playing one therefore he is leader of this faction, So he should be here where as these ones should be below it. Thats what i'm saying so you can personalise your logging in screen for the whole fun of it with the mindset of character stories. I'll explain this in two ways. From a role-playing perspective for me personally: None of my characters are actually related or connected in any shape or form. However as a role-player I make up other stories in my head as I play the game when i'm leveling up raiding and whatever else i'm doing. Also all of my characters are on my legacy for the obvious bonus stuff you get from it. From just playing the game perspective as a non role-player: You can have your character screen looking neat and everything in the way you want to, such as splitting up your empire characters from republic characters. Or from highest level to lowest level. I know i'm being OCD about it. Nor am I saying Bioware should make this a priority but this is the suggestion box forum and i'm putting an idea up here. I was giving reasoning for my idea by explaining my personal mindset. I know role-playing is not connected to how you login or how your characters are selected or even their positioning but as a role-player for me personally I just think about these things even though my characters are not connected in my role-playing. As stated above I just like the idea of being able to position my characters in whichever way I please instead of it going straight to the top. Either way it doesn't bother me either way I don't expect something like this to ever happen with the game as its not really developing the game in any way its just giving a nice thing to do. Which isn't the top of biowares list. Edit: Nothing of what I've said here is actually connected to role-play in itself. I'm just saying that there could people out there in the same mindset with little stories in their head that they never actually role-play out. Because none of which i've said here can be used for role-playing. It would just be there for a personal touch to your game and your characters. Its nothing to change role-playing or improve role-playing on the game. The role-playing on this game as well we know its good if you're with the right crowd but i'm not going into details about that. I'm just saying its a personal touch for you. Not as a role-player. I'm just saying I am one of those types of people when i'm leveling just think about what that characters is thinking etc. Heres another example. I'm leveling a Jedi guardian and I would think that he would be top notch guy on my republic characters even though I don't really role-play on that character. Its just to add nice things for people who have a mindset of setting things up and fixing things the way they want it for little things they do in their head whilst playing the game even though those things can't be used in role-playing because if so it would actually be well strange. Peoples characters could all be connected but mine personally aren't. Now to finish. In a nut-shell I'm saying it would be nice to be able to position your characters how you choose. I'm just giving my reasoning behind why I personally would want that change? Why? because I'm not going to sit and suggest something bluntly without giving reasoning to why I think something should maybe considered.
  13. Hello. I've been doing a little bit of thinking about the character selection screen. I've been thinking it would be nice if we could position our characters where we want them as opposed to the latest character that has been logged in is at the top. I think it would be good for players in the mind set of. "This character is the leader of my empire characters" and "This character is the leader of my republic characters" Role-playing or not I think because TOR is so involved with class stories and the whole legacy thing connecting all your characters together means something to the players. So being able to set up your character login screen in whichever order you want could be a very nice touch. Now I understand this is more for a role-players mind set but as I've stated above the whole thing being able to do that sounds cool. Personally from a role-playing perspective none of my characters I have are actually connected to each other in a role-playing perspective. But all of my characters are connected through legacy just because I believe its a nice little touch to the game. So i'm pitching this idea to the community/devs here to see what the thoughts are on being able to put your characters in whichever order you want them to be in instead of latest character logged in to the game to be at the top of the list. Maybe I'm just being OCD about it but I thought i'd share my thoughts on this here to see what kind of response I get to this idea.
