  1. Hello, We would like to possibility to vote kick a player out of GSF. Why is that so? Last game, we had a *censored* who just continuously self-destruct. As he was re-spawning, he was considered active. But take a look there: Image (I blanked other name out of respect for other players which I haven't asked if I could share their names) This guy has 21 death in a match, with 0 everywhere else. 21 death in a death-match, it's 42% of the win condition. And you can't do anything about it. This is only 1 game. He did it all night long. Where do other players get the fun, when a single one is giving, for a death-match, between 40% to 50% win-condition to the enemy team? Now, just imagine having two lads like this in your team. No fun, no req, and not the blight of a chance. This is unacceptable. This is a serious issue, and something has to be done about it. But as it's good for conquest, hey, let's do this so match end faster and I can farm conquest points as much as I can.
  2. Thanks for this answer Sir! I knew we could count on you!
  3. I think by now it is safe to assume this item is missing from the pack. I've also asked plenty of lads on my server, none has seen it. A shame, as this was one of my main motivations in those packs, in order to complete my private Casino on Tatooine I truly hope then we'll see this for 1 credit in the Cartel Bazaar, as it was done for other missing items.
  4. Hi, Just wanted to know if this item was somehow missing from the pack, as I haven't opened one in two Hypercrates and can't see one on GTN. Thanks for update!
  5. Just wanted to say thanks for this wonderful guide which helped me a lot to pass from 0 understanding in GSF and 0 (1 when really lucky) medals a match (thus not liking it) to way more fun. Now I'm playing a Decimus which I love (but still have a lot to learn about it).
  6. A class is content as long as it has its own story. If you don't agree with this, then you don't understand RPGs. And yes, I would like to see a new class with a whole new story. Maybe some completely neutral one, which will have to choose side at some point, like level 10 which isn't that hard to pull.
  7. Cross server PvP. Really. Especially for ranked, it's just impossible to get 1 ranked match popping on my server. If I queue every night ranked for 2-3 hours, I'll have something like 2 match popping a week.
  8. A little more precision would be appreciated here. Where was this ? In a Warzone ? If so, you both get bolstered so your gear doesn't really matter, nor does the 4 level difference because you'll get level 55 stats. He just outplayed you. If it was a duel, did he had his companion alongside him ? Because if you have presence bonuses and not your oppenent, trust me, you can win a duel vs someone way above your level. (How to get presence bonuses: get a human to level 50: +100 presence on all char. Get a class companion to max affection: +10 presence on all char (can be achieved only once per companion/class), hence if you have a lvl 50 human as well as, let's say, 2 char with all companion max affection, you start with 200 presence more than you would otherwise, and your companion will be way more powerful.A level 55 has only 360 base presence, so try to imagine what a difference it can make). Last option, he just outplayed you (but at this level, it would be surprising because the sorc on lower level has a better survivability than the warrior)
  9. Thanks for your answer! I tried to do the same maths, and I have different results: As we consider multi-dotting, we also consider multiple targets (I think our differences come from this). As well, my spec uses creeping terror, which you don't take into account (7 dots instead of 6 for Affliction). Hence, given that 1 Affliction will tick 6 times over 18 seconds, Creeping Terror 7 times over 18 seconds with 9s CD and Crushing Darkness 8 times over 8 seconds, if I consider 3-4 targets (easy to get in PvP), I get far more than 13 ticks over 15 seconds, in fact, I get 21 ticks over 17 seconds for 4 adversary (I take over 17 seconds because the 2 first seconds i need to hard cast creeping terror, then it as 15s cd, then I need 2s to cast then 15s CD....). With 30% crit, that's in average 6.3 crit per 17 seconds. Let's round this down to 6 crit in 17 seconds, and take parasitism only into consideration. That's 6*2%*1.08*1.2038 = 15.6 % life regen per 17s, and 45.74% per minute (with proposed skill tree that has +8% to self heals and 2018 expertise which grants +20.38% to self heals), or 0.91% per second. Each Affliction would heal in average 4.7% heal per cast, Creeping Terror 5.4% and Crushing Darkness 6.2% with 30% crit chance that hit at exactly 30% frequency, with proposed talent tree. It might still look like it's not much, but over 17s with 30k life, it's 4'680 life gained, or one heal your healer can spend somewhere else every 17 seconds. As you won't have one personal heal most of the time, and will most likely see 1 heal for 4 lads in 4v4, this might be welcomed by your team. Of course, you have to compare this gain in survivability to the loss of damage due to the lack of power. And as a player kindly reminded me, 1 power point is 0.23 bonus damage/heal, but those bonus are increased by your spell ratios, decreased by your opponent armor rating + other possible buff, and such, and there it begins to be a real mess to compute every possibilities for a given build. That being said, what I can realize live as it is already 2 months I'm playing this, those are my actual feelings (and only feelings, because I have no number to contradict nor certify them): In team PvP, I now die less than I did before, and I'm more difficult to kill (my feeling is 0-2 times killed in a match). In team PvP, my healing done over a match have increased from 120k in average to 220-250k without improving the number of healing spell casted. My damage output isn't that much lower than it was before. As I am more difficult to kill, I am able to put out more abilities which fills the gap. I am less suited for 1v1 than I was before (but hell, I really don't feel the sorc to be the best 1v1 class out there). This is probably due to the fact I need to multi-dot to be effective. Now, if anyone sees a mistake in my reasoning, please let me know! This is how I can learn and adapt. And if you try this build, your feedback would be appreciated as well.
  10. Love the star ship idea! Well it would be like 5M creds or 3k CC but anyway
  11. That's probably why some players, like me, spent many hours refining our excel sheets, making comparisons based on real numbers and not impressions. That is something none can argue, because even if we have probabilities to help us, when it's luck, it basically is just this: luck.
  12. 1 power = 0.23 damages, so 218 power = 50.14 damage. And as you said, math to compare damage with or without crits are far more complicated than what you did, because both stuff will have some crit chance, and some surge. Valid for PvP only: Because in Madness, you shouldn't take only damages into consideration, but self-healing with parasitism as well. With a small sarifice of 7% of your DPS (sorry, dps isn't everything for sorc, especially in Madness), you gain a >50% increase in self-heal with parasitism, and a good improvement in every other self-heal and received heals. (And final outcome, damage+parasitism only, you reach a higher total with crit than without) Thus, you have better survivability, you can dps longer without interruption, and your heal can concentrate more on other pure dps in team, such as sniper. As well, it is easier to use consume for force sustain which is a problem in Madness, because you know you will get your life back way faster than you would in pure dps style. If you're interested in full stuff, math and such, I wrote a full post here about this, with all math and such:http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=731267
  13. So, after testing it myself and reading other posts about alacrity: My assumptions were false, and alacrity doesn't increase dot fastness. So apart from Force Lightning, which still is our main damage, it will lower your GCD by X%, but not reduce CD, not increase tick fastness nor dot timing. I will however let my second build as is, because the decrease in GCD allows faster multi-dotting, but you'll have to use mainly Affliction, as it is our only dot without CD. You won't be able to get Crushing Darkness or Creeping Terror any faster. Edited for further details: As in PvP, over 50% of your dps is based upon instant casts (no detail about the math here, way too long, but they were done), and the only instant cast without CD is Affliction, it makes the Alacrity stat an arguable choice, but not a must go. You will certainly have your Force Lightning (~40% of your damages) tick faster and have better GCD. To be honest, it becomes quite hard to put the math on the table when it affects only 2 abilities and GCDs, while removing the remaining abilities from the formula, so I didn't do them. So, what will be in yellow will be estimation or guesses. Take them as such, and if you're willing to do the math, that would be most welcome. Due to what was said before, it looks like in madness, you would benefit only 50-60% of your alacrity stat, as there are few spells that will benefit from it. However, it does make a difference with GCDs, which is why my guess is above 50%. As such, except in the talent tree, I would not go for alacrity.
  14. Thanks for those first answers:) I did tweak the build a bit by taking Forceweaver (+2% alacrity) instead of Force Suffusion (Overload heals, ~1k for allies and 2-2.5k for you). I counted the 2% alacrity as a FLAT increase of 2% in heal, parasitism and dps. Here's the result with the stuff (I changed implants and ear slots): http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/2365a0c5-b694-4475-b2a8-54934de8d5d9 This keeps the dps loss to someone who would go 3/7/36 with convection at 7%, while increasing parasitism heal difference to 57%. Please also note, that my math don't take Creeping Death talent into account, which means the DPS loss is lower than what is indicated here (approximately, the real loss is closer to 5% than 7%). About Assassin stuff: the recklessness bonus, while interesting for pure power builds, loses its interest here because of the 8% increased heal in talents here, which make the 0.5% self heal of the force-master more interesting. However, 2 pieces of the Force Mystic set might be really interesting for the shield buff. Thanks a lot for those heal bonus with parasitism precision. It comforts me with the build. I'll still have to see for MH/OH stuff, when I find out the best available I'll post it as well. I think some improvement can still be made by reducing a bit the surge rating due to it's diminishing curve to improve alacrity a bit more.
  15. Hello lads, I would like to know about your commendations for a BiS Madness PvP Build. So far, that's what I've came with: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/character/9be95810-4151-4f28-83d9-743a03c7fb08 My reasons for not going 100% power: Though I have a loss of damage of approx 7% (which "over"- takes into account the fact that I do not have convection), I have a gain of approx 38.5% self heal on parasitism (takes into account higher proc due to higher crit and 8% heal bonus due to empty body). Empty body also improves all self heals, although I have a lower heal bonus due to lower power. If my maths are corrects, using same talents tree my actual stuff would be 0.1% less effective in terms of damages+parasitism than would a full power / willpower / surge stuff be (with resolve augments, as it looks like results are better than with power augments). Using different trees (i compared against a 3/7/36 which has convection), it is a 1% final loss in terms of damage+parasitism. Why did I think this is an acceptable sacrifice? First, because as I will self heal more, I'll have more sustain. In addition, I add a defensive spell with Force suffusion, which in addition allows me to heal nearby allies by a small amount as well. And finally, if someone's healing me, the effectiveness of my mate is then augmented by 8%. Now here are my questions: Does the heal bonus influence parasitism, if yes, how ? I did not take accuracy nor alacrity into account in my maths. Should I change anything there? MH/OH should probably be changed by some pve self crafted weapon. What is the exact combination without loosing expertise rating? And finally, is my reasoning correct? If no, why? Thanks! Edit: As it might not be a evidence for everyone, this build was made having all 4 buffs unlocked, all companions' affection maxed out and at least all endurance and willpower datacrons. Edit2: Thanks to the firsts to answer, I was able to bring some more tuning into that build. You can find full post lower, but I placed tweak and reasons here for ease of read purpose. I did tweak the build a bit by taking Forceweaver (+2% alacrity) instead of Force Suffusion (Overload heals, ~1k for allies and 2-2.5k for you). I counted the 2% alacrity as a FLAT increase of 2% in heal, parasitism and dps (after testing it and reading more about it, this assumption is false, because alacrity doesn't increase dot fastness nor decrease your dots cd). Here's the result with the stuff (I changed implants and ear slots): http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/characte...8-54934de8d5d9 This keeps the dps loss to someone who would go 3/7/36 with convection at 7%, while increasing parasitism heal difference to 57%. Please also note, that my math don't take Creeping Death talent into account, which means the DPS loss is lower than what is indicated here (approximately, the real loss is closer to 5% than 7%). 16. Hum, it was made clear on the site that something would happen on alderaan at least a week before the event started. It was also clear in december that rackghoul event would be back in january or february.
  17. There is nothing forbidding the use of Multi-Boxing in the ToS for those two reasons: - It is close to impossible to prove that a software is used to accomplish multi-boxing as it can be done via hardware. - Virtually, for the game clients, each clients respect, individually, the rule of 1 stroke = 1 action. Of course the stroke was broadcast, and in general, a broadcast isn't a macro (although this can be discussed). Hence there is little risk to multi-boxing as long as you respect the macro rule. Little and not zero because the broadcast can eventually be discussed. The matter of multi-boxing being legal on SWTOR or not has been a question since before the launch of the game. To my knowledge, BioWare never gave an answer to this. Your video and other forum topics prove that multi-boxing is used, and has been in used, since game launch. Even though, still to my knowledge, none using multi-boxing with the respect of the macro rule has been banned, I can understand why BioWare didn't do anything against it at launch (multiple subscription were a requirement) but I'd be more careful now that that game is f2p.
  18. I do not gank lvl 20 players, that's not even funny. I PvP mostly 55, mostly because I do admit to make mistakes sometimes. So your comment is just BS, and PvP in the Star Wars universe is RP. Saying it's not is just like denying wars kill people: you're just hiding yourself from the truth. if you read the post to full, you would know what a PvP player does on a RP-PvE (and not purelly PVE as you just said) server. So to both of you: read first, and don't stop in the middle when you read.
  19. As already many time stated: I do not manipulate the game mechanics to force other players to get flagged. Players I kill are already flagged and mostly level 55 (I do admit killing some lowbies time to time by mistake. And as already stated, if a player is fitted with this pretty blood-red name allowing players from opposite faction to attack them, it is pretty hard to tell those who are flagged willingly from those which are not. Even respecting the rules, not forcing the mechanics, avoiding spawn camping and killing mainly (mistake happens there, sorry. I see a red name, I attack most of the time before even checking if this is a lowbie or a member of the sister guild in other faction), and very rarely using pvp to steal, you still get insulted and such most of the time. About the mechanics problem with AoE trick: you know this problem (and it IS a problem, and it shouldn't be abused like it is by some players) well, it seems easy enough to avoid long time AoE DPS for the H4, especially channeled or lasting ones (such as force storm or orbital strike). You know it exists, there are already some places in the game where you should avoid using AoE damages, so you should be able to do so here as well. I mean, it's obvious some player use special strategy to force you into something you don't want to do. Use your brain as well, and counter the strategy, especially as it's really easy to do.
  20. Yes, I am. I'm not native English speaker, and in my mother's tongue, it's called savage pvp so I translated it as is. My apologies for this mistake.
  21. Savage PvP is PvP anywhere outside of Warzones. It means in the rackghouls tunnels, for instance. No I'm not Well, if what you mean by abuse the system is running through AoE, I don't. I admit sometimes I attack the only one flagged in a group and end up killing the whole party, guess they decided to defend their mate. But on the other hand, who do I judge willingly flagged PvP guys vs unwillingly flagged ones? Honestly, to me you are either blue or red. Well, that's why I took the example of the Sith Lord for imperial Side and the Soldier for Republic side.
  22. I'll give you that, the PvP flagging is a bit sensitive. And even if I attack only flagged players, it is often the case that if the player is in a group, the remaining of the group will get flagged pretty fast. Well, I do also switch instance from time to time so I do not kill only the same guys over and over again, but I don't think many PvPers do so. Right, I do PvP because I want to. But sorry, this is also RP, no matter what. What aggressive. Oh, and by the way: create a RP-PvP server for Europeans, so we can do it on a server with good rules. Until then, stop complaining. Period. Because about this exact point, you can trust me: if I had the opportunity to switch to RP-PvP server, I would do it without hesitation. The point is: I, and many other players, don't have this option because BioWare doesn't make it available to us. And re-roll on the US server? Common, you can't be serious, I would lose my complete legacy bonuses, all my 55 characters, all my long acquired stuff: Not an option. Hell, anyway. Those events include some PvP, they even got achievement for it. It is intended to be this way (and by the way, the kill of lowbies doesn't count for achievement, the one you kill have a max difference of level with you for it to count as a kill --> Most of the players I know who do PvP kill players from their level). And well, for the rackghoul event, the only place you could need some AoE is the H4. Tell me honestly you can't remove AoE DPS from your rotation for this exact place. It's a loss of dps, granted, but 4 people to kill those mobs, you can afford it. If you can't adapt, you can't be helped.
  23. Really small spoilers but to respect other players:
  24. /rant_mode="on" Dear Players on RP servers, at least to those located in Europe (as BioWare won't listen anyway), It has come to my attention (by experience) that quite a lot of you don't appreciate the open PvP part of the game. When I do some savage PvP, especially during events, it is quite an habit to get insulted in many different ways (which I won't report here, there is no need for obscenity), or being told some extremely Role Play things (please note the sarcasm) such as "This is not a PvP server, this is RP Server. If you want to savage PvP, go PvP on another server!" (ok, this is not an exact quote, it has been smoothed). First, let me explain how incoherent your complains are. This game happens to evolve in some previously existing universe: Star Wars. As you may have noticed, in the very name of the universe, there is the word "Wars" which until proof of the opposite means people actually fighting one on another, and such. In the synopsis of this game, our two factions are on an open war and, even though there is the treaty of Coruscant, many planets our character evolve on are actually in a battlefield state. So could you please explain me where is the role play in a Sith crossing a Jedi on some battlefield, wave the hand to say hello, and just let him go? What is the point of a soldier seeing an imperial agent doing some dirty business and well, ignore him, because he's not just some random NPC but a real player? I for myself find it extremely out of the role play. A Sith Lord would definitely try to kill a Jedi on the battlefield unless he has some really special purpose not to do so, and a soldier would always stop the devil's agent at work. To be honest, RP-PvE servers are illogical and hypocritical due to the reason aforementioned. This said, I understand in the US you have one RP-PvP server. But in Europe, players don't have this opportunity. They can't even transfer to the US because changing region is impossible at that time. Hence, there is either RP-PvE or pure PvP. Players which would like to chose RP-PvP are then in face of a dilemma: Pure PvP with lots of savage PvP opportunities (which I truly love), or RP-PvE with less savage PvP but a stronger community, and possibly under the RP thing an understanding for savage PvP at least during events? I chose the latter, and I have to admit I sometimes regret the lack of savage PvP. And players like minded will jump on events with some included PvP to be able to do so. Therefore, if you're on a European RP server, you might think about the fact there is no RP-PvP servers in Europe, so this might be the reason we jump on events to do some savage PvP; and to US players on RP-PvE servers, well, if you can't stand the fact that two factions are at war, why are you on a RP server on the first place then? /rant_mode="off"
