  1. Yea I just logged in, I remember the good old days where you could get an Ops group together or raid with the guild but seems like the game is truly on deaths door. Over the past month I have logged in and out spending far less time with each passing login due to low population on JC. I finally just canceled my sub after sitting around 20 minutes and seeing mostly silence on fleet. The game just honestly needs to give it up.
  2. This ^ It is working as intended, the fact you purchased in the amount of 312 boxes to open shows they do not need to change anything. want change, Truly talk with your money and refrain from purchases, enough people do this and they will rethink drop rates or business models. However as it stands there is no incentive for them to change anything with the cash cow system in place.
  3. This is pretty much how I feel. The change to the gearing system has me frustrated. 16 command crates between 2 characters (8 per toon) and I have 2 ok schematics that was worth while. No descent armor, not even ok armor or set pieces the command system for me has been a complete fail. Things that need to change in my opinion The orange gear needs removed from the command crates, there's already enough ways to get crap oranges (if you want to make orange gear drop inside the command crates make it cartel market items like Revan set or something worth the reason to have it in there.) Eliminate the junk drops inside command crates, Gearing (non set pieces) before was just a matter of time by collecting the crystals now it is up to the RNG gods if you even get gear at all. This is not a good change. Instead of taking every aspect of the game and turning it into online gambling consider some alternative options
  4. Game- Star Wars the old republic Condition/bug: All animal mounts with reigns glitch when stationary resulting in a distortion of the player character Notes When mounted on any Animal Mount with reigns a graphical glitch occurs when you are stationary. the player character model seated on the mount becomes badly distorted. The glitch ceases when you are in motion on the mount but returns immediately when you become stationary again. Additional technical notes All files and the launcher has been reinstalled and verified. Tested on 2 different computers with same results Forum Search indicates this is not an isolated issue. OS is windows 7 professional with all updates applied This has just started to occur with the latest patch (5.0) of SWTOR A good test would be the Savanna Kybuck mount
  5. Game- Star Wars the old republic Condition/bug: Game will not close down properly and exit user back to windows. Notes When choosing to exit the game and return to windows environment the Star Wars application immediately freezes up and does not successfully close out. User is then forced to do a hard terminate on the application via the Task Manager and choosing to end task or select the swtor32.exe process in the processes and initiate a termination. Additional technical notes All files and the launcher has been reinstalled and verified. Tested on 2 different computers with same results Forum Search indicates this is not an isolated issue. 6. I am not mad at EA for the attack but find myself rolling my eyes (no in surprise but in the oh this is typical behavior)at their staggering silence. It's not a crime to get attacked, but it's poor customer service to stick heads in the sand and not do an announcement about it being known and addressed.
  7. Everything you said is negated by the fact you stated CM is a better credits to dollar ratio. That is laughable since many Credit Sellers offer a much lower price per million then attempting to get it by flipping CM packs. It's basic math and the OP is correct in every one of his assumptions. But I will stop there cause below is my assessment of the situation. There are 4 ways to get items 1. Play high risk low reward gambling with the CM by opening crates. Risk/reward ratio: Extreme. Results: Drop rates are insanely low leading to high dollar investments with no guarantee of obtain item 2. Grind for credits Risk/Reward ratio: High Results: You will have to grind fast enough to purchase said item before it inflates even further thus resulting in even more grinding. Risk is price outpaces grinding even more so now that credits from Heroics/crafting has been nerfed. 3. Buy from CM and flip for profit Risk/Reward ratio: High Results: Crates may not sell for weeks or months, stiff competition leading to a lower credits/crate yeld. price of items outpaces credit generation. High real dollar investment. 4. Purchase credits from credit farmers. Risk/Reward ratio: Medium Results: Higher credit/dollar earning than other methods. Risk of violation of TOS resulting in Ban or seizure of assets. Item available sooner/ less chance of price outpacing. Risk of spam/malware sites or credit card fraud if not careful. Alternate choice Risk/Reward ratio:non existent Results: Just do not buy it don't worry about having the shiny digital trinket that will vanish when the servers shut down. Take your money and treat your wife, dog, kids or yourself to something you can have forever. Buy a new game, pay extra on your student loan, or save it back for that traveling vacation you want to take.
  8. This here is a circle of "stuff", Bioware themselves have caused this to become a lucrative endeavor. With drops in the packs being insanely low this causes the "wanted" items to be a much higher value than is affordable by casual players. Take this with a grain of salt. But fact spending 100 dollars on packs may or may not yield you the item, if the player takes that same 100 dollars and purchases credits then they can purchase the item from the GTN and the price/risk ratio is much lower. To truly combat credit spammers Bioware would have to make these items much more available to the cplayers. It is simple economics (demand and supply) 1. Bioware has made a desired item 2. Players evaluate options to obtain. Option 1: Gambling via cartel market packs. Option 2: Purchase from GTN. 3. Players weight options of cost/risk. Gambling= high risk no assurance. GTN= low risk 100% assurance. 4. Players determine the best bang for their buck. Gambling= possible loss with no reward. Purchase credits= 100% payout with small risk of TOS violation. Grind for credits= long time investment no assurance item will sill be available at reasonable price. Now Credit spammers have been around since the days of Everquest and so long as their is low availability, desirable loot there will be players making the above analysis every single day. Now the question is have you purchased credits to get an item. Have you played the cartel market gambling to get an item. Have you spent weeks grinding. At the end of the day which cost you less and made you feel less guilty?
  9. Abandon hope, many other armors have been broken far longer and never received any fixes. Just add this to the list and move on.
  10. Prior to bashing someones grammar please ensure you have checked yours. The bold sentence is missing the "about" between twice and the. Don't worry, I fixed it for you. As for the idea, it presents multiple issues since most players would lack the creative chops to generate a cohesive story.
  11. So I am guessing this also means the rollback to the heroic payouts are delayed.
  12. Nice idea, however it will never happen. Interestingly enough it seems people have to much money or are to willing to throw it away on digital toys that will vanish when the server is turned off. Throughout history people have been fascinated by shiny trinkets. Year in and Year out this is proved by the introduction of new slightly different versions of items and then people flocking to them in droves. Obsession is the keystone to capitalism. Bioware is wise in keeping the drop rates in the toilet. Why, you may ask? It is because people will obsess over having that new shiny thing. They will spend, complain, spend, complain, spend, complain, ect.... This cycle will never end, they will spend 100s or even 1000s of dollars to have that new weapon tuning or lightsaber. In the end when they go to bed in the back of their minds they will feel unfulfilled, guilty, or even sick as they realize days later they spent massive amounts of real money for digital trinkets, VOWING to never again gamble in Biowares Cartel Market. THEN Bioware brings out the next shiny object and thus the cycle of obsessive behavior begins again. Obsession, it will forever be the keystone to capitalism.
  13. Heck no to collections. You my friend are helping fund this game, you spent what? 60 bucks for enough CCs to purchase 2 hypercrates. And I am sure you'll be buying more in an effort to acquire the rare items. Now if only 10 of you do this that is 600 bucks per month free income to bioware. Imagine how many players will purchase packs and hypercrates?!?! I imagine with there current low drop rates and extreme online gambling model with the random number generator for items this swtor has turned into a cash cow for Bioware. They make a new pack and reskin a few items and charge top dollar to all you to gamble with the dice roll. Thank you to the generous players who help fund this game and thanks to Bioware for continuing to provide the enticement.
  14. Report of broken darth andeddu armor Condition- lower part of armor clips with butt of character model showing character mesh through the clothing. Severity level- medium (due to this being an item that was only obtainable using Cartel market coins through microtransaction Desired outcome- Either repair mesh so the clipping is corrected and no longer showing OR refund 200 CC coins to all users to cover any account wide unlock and a gesture of good well to the players for an unusable/undesired item. Option is to discontinue and remove broken item completely from game if your team is unable to make the necessary fix, refund 1000 CCs per user to compensate for effort, cost to obtain and unlock said item. Suggested fix- Mesh realignment, Texture file has no problem. This is an issue with texture alignment which was broken during one of the patching phases.
  15. You people kill me. Complain and complain and yet time and again you purchase the new pack the moment they hit the market spending money like it's going out of style. If you are not happy and want change then don't buy the crates in their current state and voice your desire to see change implemented. After all your money speaks louder than any post will ever speak. Otherwise you should just purchase your pack and ACCEPT you are engaging in high-stakes gambling. You are not guaranteed to win anything, that is the nature of gambling. If you are having difficulty accepting that then I suggest you visit any one of a number of sites aiming to help online gambling addiction.
  16. They never will and you know why? Do ya? It's because Thomas Tusser once wrote "A fool and his money are soon parted" Bioware would be foolish to improve the drop rates or to do anything that would make any of the "rare" drops such as the weapon tuning or the arbiter lightsaber more available. To do so would eat into the foolish players who are so willing spend, spend and spend more in an attempt to acquire said items.
  17. Does this mean between new MAJOR development cycles the players will now see the development team starting to correct bugs in older content. This includes but not limited to visual bugs in cutscenes, broken cartel market items [Example: Darth Anddedu armor set lower piece severe clipping], or just a quick search of the forums yields lots of bugs that are small enough that a skilled development team would only need an hour or less to fix(mainly mesh misalignment on armor). This would show the community that Biowares commitment is serious.
  18. Hmm, were to start my thoughts. 1. Bioware did not force anyone to gamble- and make no mistake, purchasing cartel market packs is gambling. 2. Look up the definition of gambling- You ARE NOT guaranteed to win anything. 3. As long as people spend their money Bioware has no incentive to change anything, and nor should they- Time and again you see people post "Waaaa, I spent 500 bucks and didn't get squat. These same people flock to the next cartel pack time and again. 4. It's called buyer beware- You know what it is going to be like, drop rates have always sucked, so you have nobody to blame for your financial loss than yourself. If you take the risk of gambling then be a grownup and accept the consequences. Do not blame Bioware/EA for you not winning, again it's called gambling for a reason. End of transmission!
  19. I guess we will see, there are 2 outcomes 1. If the changes were well though out and bring balance back. Players will be happy in general 2. If changes suck and companions still suck or are over godly then GOD help Bioware and SWTOR cause then the player base will just erupt even more. I see more canceled subs, more players refusing to come back ever and a general feeling that Bioware does not care what the player base wants. If this is the case I see the first death rattle coming from the games lips. You can not survive if you continue to tick off your players and see them leave for other games.
  20. Man since this whole companion thing started I shelved SWTOR for Star Trek Online. Love having phasers and having 4 companions with me, makes like a true landing party. Heck even the original Guild Wars allowed for Hench men to fill out a party. I would support multiple companions
  21. The proposed fixes only came about because of so much outrage. Make no mistakes you can count yourselves lucky to even have gotten the small buff you're getting. The incremental excuse for rebuffing is just that, a flaccid excuse. Ask yourselves why not an incremental decrease why the large oversize Nerf bat? Good question, so I guess the player base will determine if this change is enough or not.
  22. Someone please close this useless Troll thread. Here's hint OP use the search button and post in one of the 50 other topics about companions instead of trying to get your 2 seconds of fame
  23. People in general are just stupid and your post about that dude just proves he is one of the stupid ones and thus needs to go back to candy crush.
  24. So what you are saying is that you are to lazy to play the game... Well kudos to you. Just cause you are lazy does not mean the rest of the community is. Sound like you are the type of gamer who just hacks his way to the end if he does not like something in a game.
