  1. It was BW's mistakes that got them into this situation, I'm just stating what they would do as a business. It's pretty much a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation now.
  2. Let's look at this with a business point of view. You honestly think Bioware will allow everyone to transfer off of a very low-pop server and onto a higher pop? They will then be left with totally empty servers which they will have to shut down. Bioware starts shutting down servers, investors see this as the game failing, BW starts losing funding as investors start to pull out...potential new customers read about this and think 'why sign up for a game about to die' and so don't bother...BW loses more potential money... So you honestly think that's the move BW will do? Or instead will they try to balance out the population by trying to get people to move from the higher pops to the low pop servers?
  3. Because Cross Server LFG = EVIL VOODOO = dead community
  4. /sigh Ok first of all, WoW is 7 years old, not 10. Second, I'll repeat myself...would you buy an iPhone 4S that had no camera, no touch screen, no multimedia messaging, no internet access, no angry birds? No. So stop comparing a product from 7 years ago to products now as if they're the same.
  5. It's amusing how much nonsense you spout. Google the numbers, WoW lost a couple of million subs after Cataclysm. It's numbers rose steadily between WOTLK and CATA's release. Do your research. Also LFG was created to cater to the casual gamer. Elitists can not rule something that is set up to make sure not one person is in charge. Once again, you're not making sense and spouting rubbish about Elitism. Were you just that bad at the game that nobody wanted to group wtih you?
  6. These people don't think with logic or business minds, they have no idea how things work when creating products.
  7. But that's not a fair comparison. Why compare something from 7 years ago to now? Would you compare your phone from 7 years ago to the new iPhone 4S and complain that "Well back then my phone didn't have this either, so people shouldn't expect it now.".
  8. Problem with the transfers is it'll happen one of two ways: BW opens up targeted transfers from Low Pop to Medium Pop servers. Everyone then leaves the Low Pops and BW is left with totally empty servers that they have to shut down, this looks really bad to their investors and BW starts looking like they're failing. BW Opens up targetted transfers from Heavy Pops to the Low Pop servers. Nobody wants to leave the Heavy Pop servers.
  9. You keep spouting this anger about Elitists, I'm curious as to how bad you must have been to get so angry at a game like this?
  10. That'll never happen, in case you haven't noticed the forum rules specifically state you're not allowed to complain. You can suggest ways of improving but if you have any actual complaints then you get told to e-mail where they can ignore it and nobody outside sees your complaints.
  11. He said the sky is blue, that clearly indicates they're going to favour Republic in next expansion!
  12. It was speculation as to what he was meaning though, as I've noticed he's rarely clear with his answers.
  13. How does instant travel break the immersion in a Sci Fi game, which already features 'Quick Travel'? We already said a good idea would be if the Group Finder tool had a toggle option for if you wanted to just do a Quick Run or were happy doing a full Story run. Giving people the option of grouping with others who want the same thing.
  14. I'm playing an MMO, therefore I'm quite happy playing the game with...you know...PEOPLE. Don't get why some of you bothered signing up for a Massively Multiplayer game if you're just gonna moan about having to group with other players.
  15. Ok I looked it up on Wikipedia. The first two results were of the really awesome TV show Community. Have you seen it? It's really funny. The third attempt was what you were talking about I think. Here's what it says: "The term community has two distinct meanings: 1) A group of interacting people, living in some proximity (i.e., in space, time, or relationship). Community usually refers to a social unit larger than a household that shares common values and has social cohesion. The term can also refer to the national community or international community, and, 2) in biology, a community is a group of interacting living organisms sharing a populated environment. A community is a group or society, helping each other." I like the third part, where it says helping each other! Because if that were to be the definition used, I would definitely not call what we have here a Community. However if it were more like the TV Show Community, then that would be so much funnier.
  16. Sorry I was using common sense thinking it less as "what players want" and more "what a business would do", that was where my bias came from. Here someone else made this analogy and I like it. You have 6 glasses. One is nearly full to the brim, two are half full and three have only a quarter of water in them. You want to balance out the water. Are you going to pour the nearly full glass into the three nearly empty ones, or are you going to pour the three nearly empty ones into the glass nearly overflowing?
  17. The irony in an anti-social comment suggesting people be social.
  18. Why do you hate this game? Why do you not want it to succeed? Are you against it being popular and making money and succeeding? Why do you not want this game to make money?
  19. I don't think that's meant to say anything in any known language.
  20. Let's hope that and not "If you have a level 50 with Legacy level 25 you can move server for free."
  21. Which sounds good in theory, but that would involve Bioware shutting down the then dead servers...something that would look like a sign of dying to Investors and Public. Not so different from Server Merges which they're pretty against too, for the same reasons.
  22. "Dallas: The Character Transfer Service, as mentioned above, will be offering free transfers from/to specific servers. This should allow the most motivated players to get onto a higher population server. " I can't help but wonder what he means by 'the most motivated players' so what they have to earn it? Hmm. Also if they actually are allowing free transfers from Low to High...oh god that's going to make problems even worse! There will be two or three full servers with long queue times and loads of complaints...and then a handful of totally dead, empty servers. I really hope they don't take that route, as that's just moronic.
  23. They are discussing a mentoring system with being able to down-tune your character to a flashpoint requirement so you can run with friends or guildies of a lower level. But as always it's "Coming Soon".
  24. Not holding out my breath for that. Logic dictates the transfers will only be from High pop servers to Low pop. So that's relying on players happily leaving their busy server to try and populate ghost towns. Otherwise everyone will leave the Low servers and make the Heavy servers full which results in long queue times and then empty servers which will have to be shut down.
