  1. Real Life : I am a designer. I am a piping designer for a contractor that builds submarines for the United States NAVY. In-Game : Bounty Hunter Why : Because I just plain ol wanna be.
  2. T'sion is my surname. I use it because it is my real middle name.
  3. Like I said my friend. The carebears will always beg to differ.
  4. Then it sounds like GW2 is my kinda game! Just tell me where do I sign?
  5. I guess you can just ask a professional video game critic. They are better suited to answer your question. There are tons of them on the web and I'm sure that there is probably a industry standard that they abide by. I hear that IGN is one of the more trusted sources when it comes to critiquing/rating video games.
  6. Can we please keep this thread friendly before Bioware closes it? There is no need for personal attacks. I personally don't share the same views as everyone on this thread and there is no need to insult them as a result. If someone has a different view other than your own and you can't think of a way to respond in a constructive manner then just ignore them I'd say. This is a good disscussion we have going on here and the Bio boys are just a few minutes away from closing it. Please keep it clean folks.
  7. I agree. It kills me when people try to factor in whether a certain game has sold a certain amount of copies or not. Just because a game can put up big box sales does not make it a quality game. Heck, Vanilla Ice sold millions of records in the 90's but it is obvious that he has few legitimate talents. Quantity does not equal quality.
  8. Unfortunately there is some truth behind this. Most MMO gamers want and/or need a system in which the gear (not skill) will be the deciding factor in PvP. Hopefully soon the industry will start heading the other direction....the skill based direction. Guild Wars 2 and Tera Online are off to a good start imo.
  9. The melee system was definitely more challenging than the range was but I believe it was the carebears who QQ'd for Funcom to dumb the game down and make it gear based. They simply couldn't handle losing a PvP bout with another player who was less geared than them. AoC's "melee" combat system was the most skill based and fun system that I have ever experienced.
  10. Agreed. The "carebears" ruined the game for everyone else!
  11. LOL, you can believe that if you want to. Too each his own.
  12. The people I am referring to are the real PvPer's. People that actually desire skill to be associated with their PvP experience. This game doesn't offer this due to that stupid statistic called "expertise". It's the primary reason why PvP is getting boring rather quick in this game. Carebear is just a general term so please don't take it to heart. I don't know you personally so please don't take it as such. If I offended you then "my bad".
  13. Agreed. I will be leaving this game for GW2 in just a few months. Gear based games never keep me interested.
  14. Protip: People PvP mostly for the fun factor and most of those PvPers would be willing to do so for vanity items/mounts etc. Imo, I think all stats should be void in PvP. I think they should only apply to the PvE side of the game. Success in PvP should come down to who can better utilize the PC peripherals. I'm sure the carebears will disagree though.
  15. I personally would work toward vanity items, experience and in-game currency. I PvP mostly for fun so I would trade the gear grind for a skill based combat system any day of the week. If gear only accounted for 10% of a players damage output then it would be a non-issue. It would be 90% skill and 10% gear but most MMO developers are silly imo and always go for the 50/50 route. PvP is suppose to be about player vs player anyhow, not gear vs gear.
  16. There was blue quality level 50 PvP gear (with expertise) in the game upon release but Bioware pulled it out of the game about a week later for no legitamite reason. This gear could be purchased prior to level 50 with Warzone Comindations which presented a player with the opportunity to enter the level 50 bracket with a full set of blue expertise gear. Granted the gear was of blue quality, it still helped you to not get steam rolled upon enter the level 50 bracket due the the expertise associated with it. Bioware came up with the brillant idea to remove this gear a week or so after release. (This was one of their worst ideas to date) and I had been one of those people that started grinding WZC's for this gear just to have it snatched from under us without any explaination at all. To have this gear in the game would make it so much easier for a fresh level 50 to compete in the level 50 warzone bracket and it really doesn't take a genius to see that either. Some of these MMO developers kill me with their so-called brilliant ideas to better the game when if fact they don't even consider the players when it comes to some of these major decisions. If the pvp system doesn't inprove very soon then I will most likely get bored of SWTOR and move on. I don't expect this game to be perfect in any way shape or form, but I do expect the developers to impliment a PvP system that will actually be fun to at least a majority of the players. Here are a few threads that support the point I am trying to make. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=149176 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=143854 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=132061 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=131048
  17. I personally hated the Naga. I gave it to a friend of mine because it was too small for my taste. I have fairly long fingers and found it very uncomfortable to use. I also found the design to be just plain stupid. All 12 buttons clustered together in one area is just poor design in my opinion. I personally use the Steelseries WoW MMO Gaming Mouse due to it's large size because it accomidates my hand size. I also own the Logitech G700 which is not a bad mouse but is still a little small for my taste. I have my eye on the R.A.T. 7 MMO Gaming mouse which is set to released next month. This will be your best bet as far gaming mice in my opinion. http://cyborggaming.com/prod/mmo.htm
  18. Thank you. My 12 year old just so happens to like Star Wars believe it or not so I don't really mind her playing a game like this. As far as my 7 year old is concerned, this game would probably be a little too much for her. Appreciate your concern by the way.
  19. I thought the "only commendations" thing applied to the Battle Master bags only. I didn't realize the Champion bags were effected as well.
  20. I agree. PvP should be about player skill and nothing more. I would PvP all day just because it's fun. I say save all the gear enhancements for PvE and let PvP be about skill.
  21. Yeah I'm not happy about this, especially since I have spent the passed week grinding in an attempt to complete the set, then they snatch it out from under our feet without so much as an explanation.
  22. Then they need to take out the Champion/Centurion/Battle Master gear as well then because the present level 50s that are queing with the rest of the low levels have a advantage now. Bioware is really screwing this whole PvP gear thing up.
  23. I had been grinding PvP for a week for this level 50 PvP gear that they took out. I wasn't even able to get a complete tanking set either. Needless to say that I'm not too happy about their decision to senselessly remove it.
  24. Yeah pretty stupid idea on Bioware's part. I'm starting to lose respect for this company and from what I hear, they are supposed to have this great reputation for actually listening to their customer base. I spent a week grinding out Warzone Commendations for this blue gear that Bioware so brilliantly decided to scrap before I could even get the complete set.
