In a word. "No". You don't get to decide other people have to spend more of their time walking around because mounts offend your sense of aesthetics. And I've been impressed by the ease of using npcs and quest objects in crowded areas versus WoW or what have you. Further, the devs have already enabled speeder travel in places they were not before (spaceports) precisely because they did not want people forced to spend even that much time walking to and fro. Its highly unlikely they would have a change of heart on this matter.

Auto formed groups with people you never saw before and may never see again is not a good way to build a community. Launch wow didn't have battle grounds or the honor system, and the end game raiding that was there was buggy as hell even to the point of end game bosses being unkillable for months on end. How many people complaining about low server pops and forming groups were actually around in vanilla wow and formed groups for ubrs and the like? On Cenarius and Sargeras, I recall it typically took more than an hour to get the group together. I haven't seen anything unusual about the difficulty in getting a group, just people are, well, lazy after the auto-lfg tool.

Have to remember TIE fighter was launched 17, nearly 18 years ago. Many, many people won't have seen it. That said, the republic has a fighter that looks a great deal like an E-Wing. I want.

Worse, you'll kill the server long term. Queues now are expected and desirable. All the way through launch you will have higher than normal activity on the server, but the server must be populated for the normal level of activity, not this temporary spike as people come in.
