  1. About an hour is good. In general, as the level increases the time it takes to complete a flashpoint increases. But people tend to optimize the runs more as levels increase as to cut back on time. For your group's sake you should always assume 2 hours.
  2. What conditions are you all making these 1v1s in? Cause when he said no WZs I immediately though Open World PvP in questing areas. My first thought wasn't even what class to deal with but who has the best companion. A Tank Jugg with Vette or a healer Sage/Sorc with either of their Melee companions are the fights I would fear most. A Tank Jugg has so much single target CC that he and Vette can make it a 2v1 easily by CC and killing your companion. Healing Sage/Sorc becomes an issue of focus and interrupts/CC. It's much more work for you than it is the Sage/Sorc since they can just outlast you (Unless you are also a healer).
  3. Yes I suppose. I think you really underestimate the amount of coordination needed to successfully Zerg in that kind of situation. It is far greater than the coordination needed for the Republics to take the Hoth base. Gathering people and keeping their interest is by far the hardest part, and getting 3x the amount of people from different parts of the server to drop whatever they are doing to go get spawn camped is not exactly an appealing argument. Nah. It's really not that people don't want to World PvP. People just don't want to go Zerg a spawn camp.
  4. Sounds fun up until the double spawn camping part. There was no real risk of counter attack for those Republics. Anyone entering Hoth is immediately killed or severely weakened by the AoE camp on the spawn point on both the shuttle and the medicenter. The only real ways they could have been forced out is by such a massive zerg that they get overrun at the shuttle. But getting that many 50s to stop whatever they were doing and coordinating is more of a pain than people may want to put up with. Plus the lag the Imps would have to deal with upon arrival means you need even more people to make up for being unable to respond upon landing while all the Republic has to do is keep AoEing the spawn. Alternatively you could get enough people to go die at the shuttle then revive on the spot at the same time. If you die again you have an even longer wait as well while still being stuck in place and unable to chat. If a player dies 3 times they are basically out. Requires less people but you can't chat while dead so only available to people together on third party chat. Probably harder to get than the first one. As a few people have said it is the equivalent of the Ilum spawn camping (Actually worse since people couldn't even arrive on planet). The only difference is Ilum provides rewards that spawn camping happened across many servers so it was widespread and directly empowering the Empire PvP side.
  5. LS/DS points, and affection points, are only added when the quest is turned in. Specifically when you accept your quest reward(s). Only the points from the dialogue you finished completely are counted.
  6. I assumed every class got a companion version of the four main classes, or at least three. Then I played a Trooper. Five Trooper companions later I became very disappointed. It's not as bad with every other class since they get a mix of Trooper and Smuggler, but only Jedi get another Jedi (But only of their class barring SI).
  7. I would go with the Jedi. The non-class quests are all the same for everyone on that faction's side. Besides choosing the light/dark side choice you didn't the first time, there is no difference in the quests. All that changes is if the NPC lives and what the content of the mail you eventually recieves has in it. I personally think it's best to roll the opposing side of whatever your most recent character was for that reason. Give yourself time to forget about general quests so your next Imp/Rep character won't be as much of a chore.
  8. No. Strength for Warriors/Knights, Willpower for Inquisitors/Consulars, Aim for Troopers/Bounty Hunters, and Cunning for Imperial Agents/Smugglers. Those four stats are main stats, and unless your class uses that main that then it does almost nothing for your class.
  9. Whenever it's a clear loss. Defender in round 1 and 2 doors down with 5 minutes remaining. Huttball score 3-0. Never turrets since once a team has a 2:1 score the match won't last that much longer. Also any time I join a game in progress already in this kind of situation. Yes, there are chances that these games could turn around. but that chance is so low that I don't care. I'm on a heal-spec Sage so I can't really farm for medals plus I don't care about Valor 60. I enjoy PvP but when a game is effectively lost I want it to just end. It's an MMO so I have grinding to do. If my PvP grind has failed I want to get to my Ilum/Belsavis grinding. Maybe my leaving will bring in new people who can somehow turn the game around, but as it stood the game was only ending in defeat.
  10. I play a Sage and I still used the water. Sometimes crits just don't want to give me 5k Heals. But it did need to go.
  11. Go to the PvP terminal in the Combat Training section of your Fleet to get Daily/Weekly quests. Play WZ matches and get Ilum kills to complete your Daily/ Weekly quest. You are awarded one bag for Daily and three for Weekly. Use Cent/Champ commendations to buy gear from the vendors in the same area of the Fleet. Only way to get PvP gear and easiest way to get PvE gear at 50.
  12. In general, at any level, purples are better than customs. But mods are a lot easier to get because of commendations. It's expensive and luck-based to RE your own stuff, and it depends on your server/being Imperial if you can find tier 2 RE'd purples on the GTN. I believe the best thing at any given pre-49 level is a custom with all purple mods but is the hardest to obtain.
  13. A pass-by NPC conversation on Ilum between two soldiers implies that Republic won Corellia. They say something along the lines of being transfered to Ilum and going to show those Imps on Ilum what they did to the Imps on Corellia. I don't believe these environmental conversations are character/class specific and I can't think of any reason to be included and not canonical besides a development error.
  14. March. Early or late in March is probably as close as you can get from a Dev post/blog/announcement, but I don't know of any.
  15. Yeah, I put the factions in the wrong order.
  16. Balmorra is Chapter I for Empire and Chapter II for Republic. Taris is Chapter I for Republic and Chapter II for Empire. That's why they have different level ranges for each faction. The reason these two seems very conflicting is because they happen at completely different times. All of the class stories happen at roughly the same time per level appropriate world. I don't know the exact orders. From a different thread, this is apparently the order for Corellia. Bounty Hunter Jedi Consulor/Trooper Smuggler/Trooper Jedi Knight Sith Warrior Sith Inquisitor World quests validity I'm unsure about since they sometimes (or all) directly conflict each other. Flashpoints happen in order and during whatever Chapter that their level range is in. In general it seems Republic exclusive Flashpoints happen before Empire counterparts (Maelstrom vs Foundry for instance).
  17. Man you work fast. I was about to go edit that out because I realized I was wrong but you already posted so it's immortalized with your damn quote. Since I was just mentally picturing everything I realized I imagine everything from spawn (As you should).
  18. East and west are bad because people rarely think in terms of cardinal directions. But if some one says left you immediately know which direction to look since people are trained from birth for left and right because of arms.
  19. Customerservice the Uncompromising Studley Thruster, Black Bisector/Mender of the Rift
  20. People like recognition for doing well. It isn't a bad thing.
  21. Depends. Custom equipment can also have a base level requirement.
  22. You have to do Maelstrom in normal before you can do it in hard mode.
  23. To be fair to Synthweaving, Crit Rakata belts/bracers are BiS for force users. And you can find tier 1.5 recipes in Ops, but they require both Biometrics and the purple screws. You can definitely craft better gear than what you get from quests, though commendations will usually rival anything but purples. The problem is if you don't have a main to feed this crafter credits you will be short on credits for your skills and speeder.
  24. It does 50% then more based on Surge.
  25. I didn't read it all but one correction for the first half. Synthweaving can make Crit Rakata belts and bracers which are BiS for Jedi/Sith.
