  1. This is from a guide about resolve and why the system is so lunatic imo: "Finally, how do I take advantage of this system? An experienced player uses his damage mitigation abilities in preperation of an incoming CC. Then, while stunned and taking a beating, he doesn't take as much damage as the enemy is hoping to inflict. Thus the CC wears off and the player resumes his PvP having SAVED his CC breaker. Now, when the player gets CC'd again, he immediately uses his CC breaker (because two stuns will fill the bar) and gains immunity to all further CC for a good length of time. Getting this to work in Huttball while carrying the ball works wonders since most players have no idea their CC won't work when the target has a white bar of resolve." Here we have illustrated what I hate about the resolve sytem. I am supossed to husband my crowd control breaks apparently. So if someone stuns me for 3 seconds apparently if I have a crowd control break I should consider whether or not to use my crowd control break lol. Also, as this clearly points out while there is a immunity period it takes times to kick in. You can be stunned, use your break, and then be stunned immidiately again. That is a bad system in many people's opinion. Whats so hard in undestanding that most people want a system where if they eat a crowd control spell or use a break they are immune to all crowd control IMMEDIATELY for a short period of time maybe something like 15-20 seconds. Its you pro cc spam monkeys that dont get it. This system sucks. Its needlessly complicated and it results in more cc landing then any other MMORPG with pvp that most people have every played.
  2. I know how resolve works. Just because they have a system and it functions the way they claim it should doesn't make it a good one.
  3. Open PVP is where you should be gaining familiarity with your foes. Its up to Bioware to fix the faction populations problems and the quality of the open pvp experience. Warzones, while fun, are the cheapest sort of pvp. Also, cross server queing doesn't have to include every server. I'd like to call bs on the guy who talked about rift. If you did a lot of warfronts and didn't know the people you were fighting after awhile you must not be paying attention. You put the servers into battlegroups and it wont be long before you know everyone you are fighting.
  4. This system is horrible on many many levels. Of course the bootlicks will respond that the system is just fine and dandy and adds all sort of fun levels of strategery because you have to decide when to use your crowd control breaks lol. My main problem with it is you are basically forced to eat a bunch of crowd control to get to a immunity period that you won't make it to most of the time because you will be dead by then. Most pvp players are just not used to being able to have multiple crowd control effects work on them in a row. Its not fun. It also doesn't help that this game is chock full of crowd control abilities. Every class gets a ton of them.
  5. Why does it effecting pve matter at all? Its up to the developers to make sure the gear gained through pvp and pve are comparable and one isn't too much easier to get then the other. The only objective way to figure out how hard it is to get something is to look at how long it would take in game hours played to get it. The developers can run the numbers and get fairly close. Its totally ludicrous to say pvp or pve is "harder". People can't see through there own biases its a joke. A pvp stat is a lazy fix. If developers actually could make there games interesting and stop trying to make the basis for these games grinding things people wouldn't spend two seconds crying about somebody getting the same gear as them for doing the things they like to do.
  6. A pvp stat is not necessary at all. Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer two games with pvp at there core didn't have a pvp stat. That doesn't mean you don't reward people for engaging in pvp but the improved statistics for having the more advanced pvp gear is plenty enough of a reward. This is all the cause of people aping WoW blindly.

    50 Bracket Sucks

To be fair about 1/4 of people I would say posted in the threads saying we needed level 50 brackets that they were a bad idea. 25% of the players is enough to generate an endless ammount of whine threads. Bioware knows this was the right thing to do and knows that the majority wanted it so they can keep whining as far as I am concerned. The brackets are here to say. If anything once Bioware figures out cross serve queing we might see even more brackets.
  8. A big problem with the operative is los and the way heals travel to target. Imo they are not that fun a healing class to play in pvp. I'm not saying they can't get the job done but there are some frustrations for me as a mostly pvp player.
  9. They still need to do cross server queues in my opinion but the new warzone brackets make much more sense. My lowbie doesn't die in 5 seconds anymore and he actually can hurt other players.
  10. The sky isn't falling. The sky isn't falling. The sky isn't falling. The open pvp will only get better as they introduce things to try balance out the factions more and things that will lessen spawn camping. The way Illium was before was not the answer by a long shot. I don't know why anbody would be so worried even if some people benefitted for a brief time. There will be more pvp rewards added to this game at some point. Many more over time because what is in there now doesn't take all that long to get and contrary to the misconception most players, even pvpers, like to to continue to advance there characters in some way.
  11. Well, its not cheap to pay professional actors to do 100's of hours of voiceovers for cutscenes. They had to cheap out elsewhere which is apparently the rest of the entire game. What amazes me though is it somehow took the bungle with Illium here for people to say that. I knew a week in this game was a potential turd that needed massive fixes. I'm not just talking about pvp either.
  12. This is what happens when you spend 300 million dollars on cutscenes.
  13. Most people are 100% fine with the new brackets. The 50's that are pissed off about slower queues should be demanding cross server queues. This is a next gen MMORPG and they don't even have cross server queues lol. The Brackets are fine Bioware needs to add features to deal with the slower queues in some instances.
  14. So what would you suggest exactly? As I mentioned this doesn't have to be the way it is 100% going forward but killing other players has to be an important part of pvp plain and simple or its a joke. Some combination of rewards for taking objectives and killing is probably best. There needs to be incentives to play underbalanced sides as well. The way it was to start was 100% awful though and nobody that enjoys pvp should say they should have just stuck with it. The main problem as I said before is people claim the like pvp but what they like is guaranteed 100% even fights with no randomness and there pvp loot just handed to them on a plate. If people don't like what is actually pvp fine don't do it but don't act like you like pvp and spout nonsense on this board and complaining about kills being a part of the pvp reward system is NONSENSE!
  15. So let me get this straight. Its better to have so called pvp where you can avoid killing other players totally, and actually rewards avoiding other players because you can get your pve like quests done faster, then to have to kill other players? You people don't really want to pvp you just want your phat lewt handed to you as quickly as possible. I can't believe I read one moron in here calling RVR a failed pvp system lol. There are tweaks that can be made to this system for sure but re-organizing things so that killing other players is the main thing is 100% the right first step. The fact of the matter is a large majority of people that claim to like pvp do not actually like pvp in practice just in theory and really only want loot from it anyway.
