  1. opened 12 bags yesterday, I was hoarding them because I was too afraid to open them...and opening a bunch at the time feels good to me for some reason. Rank 38, atm I've only 3 champion pieces: Head, Belt and Gloves. Out of the 12 bags I got 4 items! OMG OMG OMG ...3 of which I already had, only the chest piece was the new one. FML
  2. or they could allow addons for interface modifications PowerAuras was originally an addon, and still is, in WoW before they introduced procs visuals as part of the game <3 Addons
  3. they have no idea where the smart-pivot code is in the engine they didn't build themselves. give them time, they will find it eventually.
  4. well, that's also the only idea they came up with for "leveling", so I'm not surprised really.
  5. Not to be a grammar freak, but a text with no punctuation is very, very hard to read (and in some cases also hard to understand, for example when there are grammar and typing mistakes). Also, punctuaction doesn't simply make a text more readable, but also suggests the reader how a text should be read. You cannot neglect punctuaction in a costructive post, unless you just want other people to read "whine whine whine qq qq qq more qq". So, relax, take a deep breath, reorganize your thoughts and then write a clean, organized and costructive post. That, or qq.
  6. the Devs expect you to look at this in a different way. Let me explain. <from a Dev pow> The real reward from the PvP grind are the [Centurion Commendations]. THOSE are your rewards. Period. They put those in a fancy bag so that they can give you, because they are very nice, the chance to be lucky and get a Champion piece! You must be happy, because you are getting your [Centurion Commendations], and you buy your PvP gear with those! You cannot possibly complain over a bonus!? 7x Relics? so? in theory you should have received only the [Centurion Commendations]. Ain't you happy you have a chance to get something extra? of course not the greatest luck in getting 7 of the same (BONUS!) item, but you are being unlucky-within-yourluck, because you are still getting tokens from the bags, you lucky you ! <from players, human being pow> When someone creates a reward system like this and expect someone else to think like above (and I'm sure the Devs do, or at least did until they went live), it tells me: 1- the Devs have no clear understanding of the playing community. What makes them play and keep playing, what feels rewarding to them, appealing, satisfactory and so on. 2- the Dev have no that good foreseeing and analysys capabilities. They don't pay too much attention to not even basic human psycology mechanics in general, and to what is "rewarding" in a general sense, how to set "expectations" the right way and so on. (we could go in more details of course: videogamers -> mmo players -> age -> gender ecc, but they didn't consider the basic ones, so why should we go into details here now) In a reward system as the PvP one is designed now, the "extra" became the "reward". It is being interpreted and seen as such by the players. To perceive thigs like this, is it "Right"? "Wrong"? Doesn't matter, we players shouldn't have been given even the chance to perceive that extra as the reward instead. It removed the bonus, lucky feeling from the extra and introduced instead the frustration for what we perceive a missing on the real reward. Grind to get points to buy points to buy bag with points + chance of luck, is terrible and easily "misinterpreted" by someone going after that reward system. Silly example? Dev human being / player I pvp to get better items so to pvp even more and have more fun while doing it we got the perfect reward system. You PvP and you get points well ok, fair enough, I will spend points to buy items? no. What you mean, no. I pvp to get items remember? yeah we know, but listen, with those points you can buy other points dude, my items? wait, now with those old and new points you buy a bag and the bag has my pvp item? no, it has another kind of points. you kidding me and the chance to have an item in it ah! PvP items are in the bag! ... loot 7 bags, get 7 of the same item, forget about those 3rd currency we got from them. Complain. That's normal, understandable, and easy foreseeble with simple, basic human-thinking and analysys abilities. Is this reward system terrible? the worst one ever? I don't know, but what I strongly believe is that it facilitates this "extra = real reward" perception in players and it is causing a lot of frustration among them.
  7. let me check... yes! found it -> : take it, and lets name it colon.
  8. why are all these Bioware employees here and not answering tickets or phonecalls instead? if any of you is a Developer, you may as well go work on a patch to patch 1.1 ty ty
  9. let me get this stright you're giving hope to a bunch of Developers that worked on PvP systems for other titles that went to rot and which PvP system was considered to be terrible. The same guys that came up with Hutball and besides the game design, that can be fun and innovative, the map is a complete mess for the class/abilities in game. Those same Developers, now tried to "fix" the World PvP zone in the game, and 1.1 Ilum is their result. Still, you place your hope in them. You man, got gutts. I admire you honestly.
  10. OP, it would be great if you could post here some (not all of them please, I'm sure those would be too many to list) of the amazing accomplishments of the PvP Dev team. Some title? Some great PvP feature one of them came up with in other games? A PvP-ish design/mechanic any one of them "invented"? What did they accomplish to earn them the title of "some of the best PvP Developers in the world"? I lie less about my **** size, than those guys did in their resume.
  11. we get to travel/load/ride SO much in this game, that to spend 4 minutes walking from the Market to the Combat zone is something I'm really not up to. Actually, the less I spend traveling the better. If they would allow me to use the speeder in Orbital Stations I would love that (hello?). If anything, I want a faster speeder. ty
  12. so I can't ask on the forums, in the PvP section, how to disable a noise in a Warzone that I find annoying? what are these forums for ?
  13. the constant noise from the cannons shooting in the air. Am I the only one that finds it annoying? I must say, it is also an ugly noise for my ears. The only way to remove it is by muting the sound at the moment?
  14. You granpas have too many memories of the good ol' times. Things are better now. Just saying
  15. ...who the hell uses numbers past the number 3? do you have like 30 inches fingers? 123 qerf zxcv Sq Se Sr Sf Sc Sx S = shift the a Middle Button, Shift middle button, and CTR Middle button (configured middle button on mouse under my thumb holding it)
  16. because I want to play, not sit in a chat and spam. Once i leave the fleet at 11 or so on my characters, that's it, I go play and level. and as utterly boring it is to level level level without a instance break (i lol at pvp, even more so at low levels), i prefer boredom to tedium. So I keep leveling instead of going back to the fleet and spam.
  17. of course, but then you design a game with different classes with different abilities and balance the game down the road. Different classes from each other and between factions. Perfect. League of Legend? bunch of different classes with different abilities and then you balance that out. But that's not SWTOR. SWTOR doesn't have a system with different classes. The system in this game is "two factions that have the same clases and the same abilities", only the name changes. that's ok too, it is just a different system. BUT, the problem is that at the moment the "name" is not the only difference. So, "why not diff classes with diff abilities"? Sure, but that's another game. At the moment you have a game that is based on mirror-classes and mirror-abilities...but they at the moment are not mirroring each other, so no, arenas do not make sense (again, as "competitive, ladder PvP"). Later in development? sure, why not. Lets talk about it when we are in a position to even consider the introduction of the Arena PvP system though, because at the moment we are not in such position.
  18. You cannot, CANNOT have an arena PvP system as in "competitive, ladder PvP" if your classes ingame don't even match each other properly. Abilities from mirror classes stunning longer than the correspective on the other faction. Abilities with lower cooldowns for the same class on the two factions. Animation/damage delays for mirroring classes/abilities. Those are just to name three and probably the most clear reasons why you cannot have Arenas in SWTOR at the moment. Bare in mind, I never mentioned "balance" in general. You can't even talk about it before you fix those 3 points I mentioned before. If there were arenas, they wouldn't have sense. Not as "competitive, ladder PvP". then of course, if for you Arena is not defined as ""competitive, ladder PvP", then you are talking about something else. In that case please explain.

    Sigh PVP bags

without talking about PvP itself (...), the reward system is just utterly stupid. This is like the quintessence of grinding, the ultimate grind design. Plus RNG added to it. Dear God. Think we moved away from this kind of reward-grind-gamedesign long time ago in MMOs. "Oh yeah, the grinding works, makes sense, keeps people playing, lets bring it up to the next level." Wish I was in that Dev room to scream: "Dude, this is 2012, you're late with your retarded idea." To the ones that claim that this reward system is fine since you actually earn [Champion Commendations] and that's the real money for PvP items, where the Bags instead are just "bonuses" along the PvP gearing road: "you're cute :)"
  20. maybe would have been more worthy, alongside with the forum moderation, a MINIMUM of feedback about the topic of the thread? Forwarded to the Devs? were the Devs already aware of this? any ETA? is it supposed to be like this? you've no idea? the quesiton/answer really doesn't matter dude, but at least you would have shown interest in the issue and good intentions with the community after so many pages. Useless moderation is useless.
  21. I stopped using the AH the first time I clicked on the Level column to order it...and saw the outcome of that ordering. Will it be corrected? yeah of course. Why does it matter then? because it tells me either Devs or QA are incompetents (not up to the job/task assigned) or simply not "caring" enough. I did very little programming, and whenever I had to deal with an ordering algorithm and it was not ordering things the way I wanted, I wouldn't be happy with myself first of all, and secondly I wouldn't go back to my friends/teachers with something so blatantly wrong to feel ashamed to "show" to them. I'm sure those very Devs are working on other parts of the game. I'm not happy about it. Not about them working like this, not about the ones checking on them letting such things going through. Is that the only thing wrong with the AH? or maybe the biggest issue? No, not at all, but it was the thing I "read" a lot of insights from. Hope I will be proven wrong
  22. I found the info here: http://gamestrats.com/swtor-pvp-gear-guide/ This is basically how you gear up for PvP at the moment: - First of all, you do Warzones and you earn [Warzone Commendations] - with the [Warzone Commendations], you can buy [Mercenary Commendations]. The ratio is 3:1 (30:10). - then you use 200 [Warzone Commendations] and 200 [Mercenary Commendations] you buy 1 [Champion Gear Bag] (you can also see this simply as: 1 [Champion Gear Bag] = 800 [Warzone Commendations]) Now, what you find in the [Champion Gear Bag]? Well, the back can contain: OR: 3x [Centurion Commendation] OR: 1x [Centurion Commendation] and an [unassembled Champion Piece] The [unassembled Champion Piece] is basically a random piece of PvP armor and the [Centurion Commendation] instead is actually the currency you buy the PvP pieces with. So the pat has been: earn [Warzone Commendations] -> convert some into [Mercenary Commendations] - spend a combination of the two (200 each) for a Bag -> bag contains [Centurion Commendation] then [Centurion Commendation] is what you spend to buy items. To me (and I think that's how it is), the [Centurion Commendation] is nothing else but [Warzone Commendations]. I just kept converting [Warzone Commendations] at different ratios. the Bag might as well cost 800 [Warzone Commendations] and suddendly we don't need the [Mercenary Commendations]. "Wait, but you can use [Mercenary Commendations] themselves to buy items". Well, [Mercenary Commendations] are nothing else that 1:3 [Warzone Commendations]. Make those items sell for 3 times the number of Mercenary as Warzones. Done. And the [Centurion Commendation], again, are nothing else but [Mercenary Commendations]. this time is just not a fixed ratio (800 Mercenary for 1 Centurion + random item, OR 800 Mercenary for 3 Centurion). What's the reason of all these names and marks? Why not make players earn marks and price items in a way that would prevent all these ratio conversions? I personally don't see it as a good design having my currency tab filled with marks that are nothing else but the same copy of the first one, just with a hidden multiplier and a different name. eram mark to buy mark to buy mark to buy mark to buy mark....why not change/correct/fix/work out/balance the income/outcome for the first mark on players and have them use only one currency? As I said, I'm just curious about this choice if anyone can explain why "this is the good way" if it is
  23. well if that's the logic then why not have us convert up to Mark Z, and have us spend Marks Z for the items?
