  1. Because focusing on pure dps makes your damage acceptable. As a full-spec'd healer, NOTHING annoys me more than having heal/dps or tank/dps hybrids. They do terrible damage and their survivability doesn't go up. *I* will be your survivability, that's why I heal on my sage. YOU go kill them. I've got your back. You need good damage to overcome good healers.
  2. When I play soccer against friends, I try to win and we all have fun. There is no difference in PvP. If you are personally offended that someone you're competing with actually tries to win, you need to learn how to interact with people. If they get their feelings hurt that easily, they really have no place on the internet. They'll see far worse things in general chat.
  3. Nadia's pretty adorable, but not the best romance ever. I liked Elara Dorne's. Her love of everything official and appropriate is quite hilarious. She brings you a big present.....official documentation allowing romantic relationships in the military!!! WHOO!!! I want to romance M1-4X. He is the best companion in the game. He's probably married to the Republic though. So sad
  4. This. An officer is "Sir". Saying anything different for any reason is disrespectful and can get you in trouble.
  5. isn't kolto a natural fluid, while bacta is a synthesized one?
  6. THe transition from Cent to Champ is pretty big. The transition from Champ to BM is barely there. Go for champ.
  7. It's a game. If you can't be competitive without getting feelings hurt, you're doing it wrong. Losing isn't the end of the world and it's not really even a bad thing. Respect your opponents. Trying to win isn't doing some great disservice to the other team, it's playing a game with them.
  8. That's a check, not a checkmate. I've seen a team lose the situation you just described. They got overconfident and ran off one base for kills, and their other base wasn't well guarded and got squished. We held a 3-cap for awhile, then lost 1 base and ended up winning with 30 points.
  9. I'm not frustrated with the female slave outfit at all. Slaves are commonplace in Star Wars, both male and female, so a "pleasure" slave that is male would not exactly be far-fetched. Only allowing female ones is sexist. I don't want to remove the male body type 4, I'm actually a fan of it. I want the females to gain an equivalent. Currently, all female body types are either thin or athletic. None come CLOSE to being chunky.
  10. Eh, depends on the playstyle. Many people enjoy the leveling process and story, and to them, 7 50s sounds like a ton, but it's not that many if you just wanna speed-run and play at 50. To each his own.
  11. Yes, since when I look at the changes, the main thing that's being nerfed is hybrid builds. I am totally okay with that, and I have very few complaints with the rest of the class balancing. It might've been overdone a tad, but it's really not as bad as it looks in my opinion, and it will likely get better as we get closer to 1.2
  12. I think that a light-sided emperor would still realize that if he abdicated and made democratic reforms, the Sith, being who they are, would only try to manipulate that system. I feel like he'd remain emperor, but also negotiate peace. War isn't an evil thing, but unnecessary war against such evenly-matched opponents is harmful to both organizations, and I doubt a light-side emperor would want to put his people through that without cause. So I'd say a light-side emperor still wouldn't stop the monarch-type rule, as that would be silly, it's simply what his people are used to. But I think he would be more peaceful and less strict.
  13. It really does look good in some of the gear.
  14. Playing a videogame at all is wasting your time. Why is that a point?
  15. I'll admit, because of your ridiculous and silly arguments, I pretty much assumed you were some talentless monkey-thing that spec'd halfway up heals and halfway up damage, so I threw in a spec based entirely on reading the talents and having a basic idea of smuggler abilities. Never played a scoundrel above level 16. This one better? http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701MffbzGoRdsZ0cZGb.1
  16. I have a 50 stealther dps. And what you said is utter ********. It doesn't take "45 seconds" to get out of combat, nor is there any reason to "run around in circles" during this time. Please provide a video that proves that you can go 45 seconds without attacking or being attacked and still be in combat. When you do, I'll laugh at you for running in circles during that time, and tell you some areas you can go to help position yourself before stealthing without going back into combat.
  17. Who cares about the numbers you get versus other healers? As long as you are alive when it counts and heal someone when it counts, you're contributing more than any other healer spam-healing idiots fighting away from objectives. If someone spams tech effects on a shadow that has Resilience up, the shadow will not take any damage. Just because they refused to use ranged/melee abilities while he was glowy does not mean he is overpowered. Similarly, when a tank is being healed by a healer that is free-casting, every person hitting the tank is hitting them in vain. 1-2 should be disrupting that healer, whether with interrupts/control, or just damaging him to make him heal himself some as well. I was unaware that higher valor ranks gave you better cleanse abilities. Unless they do, there is no point mentioning your valor rank. And you can cleanse physical, tech, and mental effects, up to 2 at a time. If you stood still and used 8 cleanses in a row, you waited 40 seconds just trying to deal with DoTs. If that failed to cleanse them all, then either you had a Force DoT on you and were silly to keep using your cleanse, or the DoTs were still being actively applied to you, and you are silly for trying to cleanse so much when you need direct healing when people are actually attacking you.
  18. I agree that people shouldn't be rewarded for padding, and I fully support any plan to make out-of-combat healing not count on the scoreboard. But I think subtracting from your healing score is silly and I think restricting Noble Sacrifice's use is silly. I'm open to solutions, but I don't believe the ones you've proposed would be helpful.
  19. While I think his ideas are a bit silly, he's presenting them in a calm and rational way, and isn't "trashing up the forums." There is nothing wrong with having a complaint, that isn't "QQ", what is wrong is when people demand changes and refuse to listen to people that attempt to explain how the mechanics for certain abilities work, and situations where a nerf would be a bit unfair. Complaints can be made in a calm and rational way, with fair discussion. That's not "QQing". Never having any complaints is fine and dandy, but being outraged that other people have complaints is just being a ludicrous fanboy. Troll harder next time.
  20. It's not OP if your team ignores all reason and feeds right into the enemy's strongest point.
  21. Yes, but the meditation relies on you not being attacked at any point during this. Because of stealthers, I want to make my force and hp be respectable before I try to heal them both up. I'd rather be caught at 60% hp and force than at 100% hp and 5% force.
  22. Firstly, here's a spec for you, since you apparently suck at making PvP specs. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#701McfbdGoRdsZ0cZGb.1 Secondly, the only time a 4-second stun isn't enough time to get behind LoS is when you're standing in a flat, open plain, which you should never, EVER be doing as a healer.
  23. I will never give up the fight and I will always try to cap a base. Firstly, I vastly enjoy fighting. Secondly, my philosophy is "If you're going to lose, kick 'em in the nuts and spit in their eye", and thirdly, I have seen a level 50 game go from losing with a 3-cap to winning with a 3-cap and the final score being 50-0 us.
  24. I care because when he brings himself to 30% hp and a stealther jumps him, we're down a man defending and lose the base quite fast, as we rely on healers to provide longevity and allow reinforcements to have time to approach.
