Butthurt much?

That's where we disagree. WoW's engine was precise and working, no HUGE performance issues (like SWTOR) and certainly NOT SEVERAL SECONDS ability delays. WoW might have had less hype, but at least the basics were on a solid ground where you could build on. If the engine is as bad as SWTOR's and being told "these problems are the sort of problems that won't be fixed in very fast" (translate: they have no idea how to fix the engine to reduce performance issues and ability lag, I find it extremely hard to have any faith in this game. If the base was on solid ground but the extra features lacking, I would still have my hopes up. Other way around, I guess a lot of people will come to disappoint.

Good for you. I have a 2 months old $1900 PC and I am seeing fairly poor performance (not flash show but relatively low FPS which should not happen with these game graphics). Running "fine" and running like "it should" are 2 different things. My rig runs top games like Skyrim, BF3 etc at very high FPS readings. SWTOR gives me top 80-100 FPS and in warzones it might drop to 40 when a lot of action is on the screen. On Ilum it dropped down to 15-20 FPS after 1.1. That never happened in other games such as WoW. And by all means, I am not the only one who is experiencing this - well you might had actually already noticed that from the amount of feedback already if consider matters objectively. But that was not the point, my point was: what will the state of the game be in 2 years time in your opinion?

I never thought this game would be playable right off the bat and let's be honest: it's not. First of all, the engine does not allow a smooth gameplay which is required from a late 2011 AAA MMORPG. Where do you think the game will be in 2 years? Have they fixed the ability lag issues for both factions? How about the performance issues for top dollar rigs? Will there be adequate amount of content for others than just people who just enjoy story while leveling and then quit/make an alt? I think the most probable scenario is that it will be a sub par MMO like Aion. It will also probably have a F2P/P2P system implemented. All the hardcore raiders and PvPers have left the game so the more casual peeps who enjoy the story are left. What do you think? Seriously, please! No "it will kill WoW in 6 months"-stories - we all know those kids are long gone now.

Coming Up in STAR WARS: The Old Republic

Hey we have this new feature where you can gank endlessly your opposing faction while they can't do anything about - they can't even leave the place! -

Quick read on EA (SWTOR / Bioware concerned.)
LukeRPWalker replied to Bodypull's topic in General Discussion
I agree, SWTOR is a failure. -
Like I said my good gentlemen and ladies, the first post was my opinion. Even trolls (sigh..) are entitled to one. Good discussion so far, I appreciate the posts from both sides of the fence. Why I think it failed? It never delivered. It never met the hype. I expected much more. Many promises were broken. But most importantly, the game does not function like an MMORPG should (speaking about the engine). If you still like the game (and still, after 6 months) I say: good for you. I, on the other hand, am expecting a product which I am promised. If not delivered, I walk away.

What do you think? What were BW's biggest mistakes? What could it learn for the next MMORPG (if they ever produce another one after this awkward failure?) Or was it even a failure? Was the target to kill WoW in the end? My opinion: - WORST Enginge ever (for a multi hundred million project) ability lag and performance issues are something that should not exist in a late 2011 "AAA" MMORPG - Server instancing - Too linear - Too small servers - Horrible endgame (raiding/PvP) - Too much focus on story (okay, it's story driven, but this was way over the top) - Too much attempt to copy WoW - going the safe way, no real new ideas to make people actually quit WoW and never miss it Simply - lack of creativity, mediocrity in design and inexperience What's your opinion?

Will Re-sub when Hero Engine is optimized
LukeRPWalker replied to Bunnyboxx's topic in General Discussion
Hahha, this is so wrong. This game and its graphics could never justify such low FPS readings from your PC. And you couldn't be happier? I smell troll. -
Stopped watching at 00:18. Nothing's worse than a backpedaler (maybe clicker)

Complaining about endgame IS NOT justifiable.
LukeRPWalker replied to SnapWolf's topic in General Discussion
This game is out about 7 years later than WoW, so the complaint is really justfied. /thread. -
Let's spend another hundo mill on VO and pretend like people care about it after 10 levela! :)

BioWare: "most" people aren't having SWTOR performance issues
LukeRPWalker replied to Raggnarok's topic in General Discussion
More like 95% Only 5% complain on forum the rest 90% don't because they think it's not going to make any difference anyways. GJ Ohlen, reading your community like a pro. -
Server instancing still applied regularly
LukeRPWalker replied to LukeRPWalker's topic in General Discussion
No. Why would I switch accounts? I agree with the silence. People are buzzled. "WHY Indeed is BW still doing it" they think. -
Server instancing still applied regularly
LukeRPWalker replied to LukeRPWalker's topic in General Discussion
I agree. -
Why? What's the point of instancing one huge planet with 60 people on it into 2 different instances? I was told that instancing would only happen in the beginning, when the planets are packed. I would hardly call 60 people on Tatooine a lot. So I suggest, now that the servers are deserted (good job on that by the way), remove instancing all together.

**** that! They will have character customization via $$$$$$. 20 dollars for a full shizzle. It's all about the benjamins.

How many subscriptions still around in 6 months?
LukeRPWalker replied to Magnusmaximus's topic in General Discussion
500-600k -
The thing is, when you review an MMO you should not consider things like oh well it just launched let's give it 8/10 instead of 3/10. You should be objective from the very beginning. That's why the real score should be 3-4/10, by anyone who is NOT paid to give high ratings and who are not total idiots.
