  1. The Morning After, his and hers Date: February, 10 ATC POV: Wynston, Ruth Storyline: Ruth Means Compassion, timeline 1 Spoilers: No A Chiss, a Rattataki, a Twi’lek, and a Sith walk into a cantina Date: February, 10 ATC POV: Ruth Storyline: Ruth Means Compassion, timeline 1 Spoilers: Sith Warrior Nar Shaddaa Tags: Ruth, alcohol
  2. Eeee, I cheered when the title came up! Also, the Jorgan incident is classic Ayrs.
  3. A quick hop back in time Date: 4 ATC POV: Wynston Storyline: General (early adulthood) Spoilers: none A Friendly Meeting Date: January, 10 ATC POV: Wynston/Ruth/Wynston Storyline: Ruth Means Compassion, timeline 1 Spoilers: Imperial Dromund Kaas Tags: alcohol, Ruth, questioning authority
  4. Today I’ve got a trio, two of which qualify as shorts. A prompt coming from a brain that isn’t mine seems to work wonders! Heirlooms for the Ruth!verse’s Rylon Niral, Ruth and Quinn’s son. 350 words, spoilers for the end of Ruth Means Compassion (it occurs between RMC and the next major arc). Game spoiler for the Sith Warrior’s Act 3 antagonist. Note: Heirlooms with young Wynston and his Intelligence partner Bas Ravni (early career, a couple of years into the cold war). They’re usually all business. Well, business and drinks. Anyway…900 words, no spoilers. Heirlooms with Mama Savins, way over in the long-neglected Vierce!verse. 400 words, no spoilers.
  5. Taking from the last prompt or thereabouts: @Yoshi, I love Methic’s consternation at the ladies of the crew. What a pair of questions…well, offers…to have to answer on the spot. Meanwhile, by my records your Nadia story is the fifth in the history of the thread to give Nadia a spoken line (and probably less than tenth to show her at all). And yay, comics fans! @marissalf, I realize there’s a parade of unreliable narrators in this story, but I can so see Doctor Lokin summarily dismissing someone who can no longer advance his interests. We’ll see what trouble Ellis gets into now. @frauzet, your story of Nat and the ring is heartbreaking. The note at the end about hoping his mother wasn’t watching too closely…ouch. Nice short, evocative piece. @alaurin, why do I feel that catnapping isn’t going to end well for the would-be catnappers? Well, we’ll see how the Trooper’s plot progresses… @DarthSillyMonkey, Garza lays out the big picture. It’s sort of a maddening big picture, but it is what it is and she was never the type to shed tears about the situation in front of her. @elliotcat, wonderful to hear from you! Latula’s intense awareness of all the social markers about her verges on the painful. Then again, she’s always been forced to watch these matters of status and usefulness.
  6. Leave it to “I’m traveling with nothing on me but a pen and a $5 bill to write on” to come up with a story. 280 words, no spoilers, for Calline and her not-quite-standard T5-M7.
  7. One of Many Colleagues Date: 3 ATC POV: Wynston Timeline: General (early adulthood) (new) Spoilers: No Note: Assassination Date: 4 ATC POV: Wynston Storyline: General (early adulthood) Spoilers: No The Jadus Effect Date: November, 9 ATC POV: Wynston Storyline: General (game timeline) Spoilers: Imperial Agent Dromund Kaas Tags: questioning authority, alcohol
  8. Love the premise, love the style, love the Broonmark. Nicely done!
  9. Week of 11/29/2013 Shopapalooza – Whether it’s clothes, supplies, trinkets, spaceships, or groceries, our characters shop for a lot of things. Sometimes it’s a spending spree; sometimes it’s just window-shopping for what they can’t afford. It may be in a big chain mall, a backwater planet’s marketplace, an artisan’s gallery, or the Holonet. Write about your character’s shopping experience. And, as ever, Night of the Living Prompt: Keep on using any prompt you like! Check out the list at http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=5223753&postcount=1675. This week's featured NotLP: Changes/New Paths – Changes happen to all of us, and sometimes a defeat turns into a surprise opportunity…or the other way around. Either way, life goes on, and with it sometimes unexpected paths. Write about a life change or reinvention for your character.
  10. My brain database offers Cartel Market, Fashion, and Gifts as similar prompts. Let's fill in the gap: Week of 11/29/2013 Shopapalooza – Whether it’s clothes, supplies, trinkets, spaceships, or groceries, our characters shop for a lot of things. 11. Today’s is an alternate POV of the events with Athsin and Ryessa Thaye. Another long entry, 5000 words. Never before posted. Ryessa II Date: 2 ATC POV: Ryessa Thaye Storyline: General (early adulthood) Spoilers: No Tags: alcohol, abandonment
  12. Mysteries in Ruth Means Compassion, timeline 3, after Ruth and Kira have more or less broken the ice. Kira is at least resigned to having the Emperor’s Wrath on board along with Knight Larr Gith and Agent Wynston. 550 words.
  13. @alaurin, given the (m!Trooper spoilers) As for Jakob, it's got to be nerve-wracking wondering whether the bad guys know to hunt him. With any luck he'll at least have his littermates with him if the time comes to face the hunters down. And Jorgan - I imagine he might want to take a page from Corso's book and lock his door after this! @frauzet, the headache sounds just about right. Poor Giz is in bad shape...at least Corso intervened before Nikeo could talk his way into a sore everything.
  14. Long entry today (5000 words), all a single story. A recent crosspost from the Short Fic Challenge thread. An exploration of Wynston's earlier and less questioning years. Ryessa Date: 2 ATC POV: Wynston Storyline: General (early adulthood) Spoilers: No
  15. @alaurin, not gonna lie, the Balkar effect is enchanting to watch. When even Elara's feeling it...damn, boy. @marissalf, I love the tension and the horror vibe from this whole sequence. I'm sure these people would like nothing more than to have a normal life, but they've got to handle this first - together. Even if they don't know how. It occurs to me, I never had Rylon's family counseling on this thread. He heard about Wynston/Ruth there in an exceedingly silly piece. I'll stop there because the crossreferencing possible in this universe can go on indefinitely.
  16. @Lesaberisa, the hourly timeboard...glorious. With a separate board for Kaliyo because, really, she would be skewing the stats otherwise. Amurri's simmering rage just begs for further development that I wouldn't be able to read anyway until I finish my BH, and yet...intriguing! How characteristic that Elara should be talking Ayrs through Elara's labor. @DSM, aw, it's odd yet fitting to see Jorgan as a moderating influence in a situation gone this haywire. Question, so the characters who use "Lt.," "Capt." and other rank abbreviations pronounce the short version as written? @alaurin, ee, carrying baradium charges anywhere is bound to be a bad time...poor Kat!
  17. Driveby! Memories in Don’t Call them Ruth-less: Rylon Niral and Wynston. That spoiler for Sith Warrior Act 3. Spoilers for the end of Ruth Means Compassion. 750 words.
  18. It occurs to me, this presented an opportunity for Wynston to play along and dive under cover to gather info on the SIS. But he's young and still insecure enough that the lightest challenge to his Imperial loyalty must be disproved at once. If this is a test...after all, anything might be a test, and he has worked so very hard to get it right. Best not to take chances.

  21. @alaurin, I laughed when Jorgan notified Forex of who he's working for. I love that droid. @DSM, you had me nearly as angry as Vik. And yet Garza has her reasons. @Xakthul, I always wonder how the Jedi handle finances. I could see them looking down on a guy who dirties his hands with ownership and trade interests. @Magdalane, okay, when Corso is sneaky he is sneaky for adorable purposes. It's so nice to see something go right for Miriah. As a sort of Pimp My Thread, I set up that Wynston thread I've been thinking about. It gathers material about him from a number of venues and I intend to publish in in-universe chronological order (up until I write something new at the wrong spot on the timeline, but we'll deal with that as it comes). I'll try to post at a manageable rate.
  22. Storyteller Date: 9 BTC POV: Wynston Storyline: General (childhood) Spoilers: No Young Worker Date: 18 BTC in reference to 9ish BTC POV: Wynston Storyline: Lodestone Spoilers: No *****************This is from an alternate timeline!******************* This conversation between Ruth and Wynston is from the Lodestone timeline, wherein he’s not only capable of a committed long-term connection, he forms one with Ruth. While the things Wynston recalls here are accurate he would not voluntarily talk about this with anyone in canon. Wynston’s Pastimes Date: 8ish BTC POV: Wynston Storyline: General (childhood) Spoilers: No
  23. Long ago I thought up a SWTOR continuity, the Ruth!verse. In one of my first posts about Ruth I wrote that I imagine she might sometimes work with this one guy from Imperial Intelligence, pro-LS on a small scale but pro-Empire on a large scale. Useful for the day. She worked with him and moved on to a grand and glorious fic career. This is the story of that guy. From five different forum threads, a mess of Tumblr trivia, a bit of new material, a year and a half's time, and spoilers for three classes, once told in stream of consciousness form, now gathered in (mostly) universe chronological order... ...this is Wynston. Codex: Wynston is an agent of Imperial Intelligence. He likes to drink and socialize, but under the glib party face is a sharp and inventive mind and a drive for excellence that regularly disregards the cost to himself. His loyalty belongs firmly to the Empire and he makes it his business to secure Imperial goals with a minimum of collateral damage. Securing some fun on the way is just a bonus. Species: Chiss Height: 5'7" Age at game start: 25 Likes: Women, alcohol, the idea of the Empire Dislikes: Waste, cruelty, pointless coercion http://www.swtorshenanigans.net/wiki/images/9/98/Wynston_profile_small.jpg A full index of existing stories is kept here; this thread, rather than just being an index, will crosspost the full story text. 24. Week of 11/22/2013 Thank You – Gratitude is a big thing. People give thanks for gifts, social niceties, kind words, significant favors, for being offered company or for being left alone. Sometimes there are specific holidays or times dedicated to gratitude, and sometimes it just comes up on the way. What is your character grateful for? Do they admit it? And, as ever, Night of the Living Prompt: Keep on using any prompt you like! Check out the list at http://www.swtor.com/community/showpost.php?p=5223753&postcount=1675. This week's featured NotLP: (Un)invited Guests - Things get complicated when you're visiting someone else, or have someone visiting you. Even if you want them there! Of course, things are extra complicated when your guest is someone you didn't want or expect to come around.
