  1. That must by why they're focusing so much on a gear treadmill in 1.2
  2. maybe if you hadn't pointed out that "guard and taunt" were reasons why someone would want to dps as a guardian/juggernaut?
  3. Yeah, you'll be wanting to make sure you're also taking someone elses guarded damage when you jump into the middle of a group of players to do an aoe bomb. Much more useful for aoe dps than CDs that actually help you stay alive.
  4. Actually I would like an orange version of my guardian's midrift flashing breastplate, thanks!
  5. and it will continue to be an MMO after 1.2
  6. You're wrong. 1v1 balance impacts tuning all the time, which is why operatives were initially nerfed. It would be easy enough for a team member to peel squishy DPS off of someone that is getting stunlocked, but BW accounted for the situations where that did not happen. Changes happen all the time, and MMOs are in flux until the day they die--I'm not saying things will ever be balanced. I'm just saying that we are not forced into premades to form Voltron in order to accomplish goals. Every class stands alone in some regards.
  7. For most of its uses, "not balanced for 1v1" is just a cop-out excuse. A good team can carry a lot of dead weight. Group balance should take priority over 1v1 balance, but implying that 1v1 balance is not significant is just silly.
  8. Personally, I think BW is sorta struggling with the PvP vs PvE implementation of shield/absorb damage types.
  9. Yep. Asian grinder takes too long to effectively adapt to western market, and fails. Not complicated.
  10. This made me lol irl. I might has to steal it for my sig.
  11. Most of them look awful to me. I'm glad that crit crafted oranges will be useful.

    Why juggernaut?

Has there been any mention of how often it can proc per x second(s) or if it can proc off of dot damage?
  13. They really should allow players to level lock and add a stat cap to the bolstering in the 10-49 bracket. Result would be players not having to leave that bracket if they didn't want to, and twinking being even less significant. Best of both worlds.
  14. If at any given time you're trying to find a reason to not PvP then you will surely find it.
  15. Personally, I'd like to see both happen. Tanks more tanky, and guard at least toned down (if not only used in PvE), and taunt durations increased. Similar outcome, just more strategic IMO.
  16. Commando is probably the worst class for trying to solo a healer. IMO, you need an 8s interrupt and knowledge about which heals they are casting, in addition to your DPS.
  17. Will you return an autograph if we mail you a self-addressed envelope and a napkin?
  18. Odds are he's not one of the 5 English speaking players that still plays Aion.
  19. If there were an unlimited number of players, enough brackets, and a good match making system, then you would only fight players that had equal skill and gear. If you had progression in that system, you would never gain an advantage because as soon as you got more gear you would be matched against other players that also had better gear. The math would be a wash, and your gear upgrades would essentially be cosmetic. The only way that you'll really be able to see a gear advantage is by being matched against players that you shouldn't need an advantage over to begin with. I'm just not sympathetic to people who threaten to leave if they don't have this. I prefer the systems that are designed to equalize players (bolstering), bring the community together as much as possible (less brackets), and encourage new players to join in (1.2).
  20. Regardless of what the scale/difficulty of progression is, there will always be an end to the progression. Does it really matter if the cap is 1 month instead of 2 months? From the start it hasn't exactly been a hardcore progression game. Sounds to me like you already found the solution that BW is pushing with their legacy system.
