  1. So I made a Shadow with the Jedi Knight story and it all worked pretty smoothly. My only real issue was that the lack of new abilities while on Tython kind of made it a slog, ten levels with 3 abilities. It didn't make the content difficult or anything like that just felt longer than it probably was. I'll continue tomorrow and see how the Coruscant experience feels.
  2. This x10000 People spend to much time trying to validate why they do or do not want to play the game. There is nothing wrong with playing the game simply because they want too and not because it is the most, least or somewhere in the middle of the pack of successful MMO's.
  3. Exactly. I don't think a lot of people are in a tizzy, they making known where their breaking point with the game is. Its not your typical GW2 is going to cure cancer and crush this game rhetoric.
  4. I have watched it, it just seems like what they say changes with the wind, there is so little consistency in what little they tell us that it makes a guy nervous.
  5. No, I think you misunderstand me, maybe not but I will try again. My concerns are simply that when they announced the whole transition to F2P they said subscribers would continue to receive new content for the price of their subscription like we do now which I was totally cool with because I planned to continue to subscribe to the game and not go the F2P route. I have no problem paying for an expansion for this game or any other my only concern is that they might make me pay for something that my subscription should cover. Again we don't know what Makeb will be and I'm frankly in wait and see mode I'm not here to burn down the forums in negativity and if I did plan do depart your not going to find some silly post here about I'll simply and quietly go. All I'm concerned about is getting value for paying my subscription that's all. Again value is subjective but if we are going to pay for what ever Makeb is on top of our subscriptions there had better be some content coming down the pipe that is going to go to subscribers for subscribing.
  6. And at the time seemed like a good purchase to me, because you knew you were going to get a few tiers of raiding added over the course of the expansion which didn't work out so well since I stopped playing in the first teir. I'm not trying to make this why WoW is better than SWTOR since SWTOR is the game I'm actually playing. Look if they add a great deal of stuff for the price beyond my subscription they will retain my sub and gain that extra money but if every bit of new content is going to come at a cost on top of a subscription then I'll be less than thrilled. Its all about value, everyone is going to have to make their own choice because value is subjective. Some people will be thrilled to pay for content updates on top of their subscription and that's fine, I have no genuine ill will towards them however I think that in order for me to decide that this game is worth supporting it can't go that way and all I can do is hope beyond hope that EA/BW sees that I'm probably not alone.
  7. For sure as would any reasonable person, and myself or Mothear are not trying to White Knight WoW but for Tarous to say: So...lacking any evidence you are going to continue hyperbole and fear mongering. And WoW did it with Cataclysm, Two very small leveling zones...and 5 levels....but they did it for $39.99US. Which isn't accurate at all and is just as hyperbolic. From what they have told us which is granted very little it does not sound like it matches up well with what people got with Cataclysm at all so to make the statement that we are going to be so lucky to only be charged $10 dollars for the same amount of content is hyperbolic in itself but of course that's ok because its positive hyperbole.
  8. I have not played WoW since about maybe 4 months in to Cataclysm but there was more than 2 zones added with Cataclysm, there was also (going from memory too lazy to go look) the addition of the Worgan and Goblins revamped world from 1-60 not to mention the new dungeons and raids that it launched with as well. I don't know what will be in Makeb but it does not sound like the scale will match but I doubt based on the information we are given and the question of who is testing it that it will be on that scale. If it is I would consider paying on top of my subscription.
  9. I know I'm going to start sounding like a broken record soon but a lot of the people voicing their concerns are not the same people that have been all doom and gloom predicting the end of the world and post things for the sole purpose of getting a rise out of people. A lot of us are people that have supported the game and are paying and for the most part planned to continue to do so after the F2P transition and are simply concerned about how much more beyond our subscription that we are going to be expected to pay for. Depending on what happens your right maybe some of us will no longer be customers and we won't matter but for the time being we do.
  10. Yeah, this sums it up for me as well. I have no problem with the amount of money. What I have a problem with is the principle behind the money. I just don't feel that a sub is worth access to OP's, FP's, WZ and a stipend for the cash shop if we are going to be nickle and dimed for every content patch that follows after that. Yes the game needs money but it shouldn't be basically on the backs of the subscribers who over time are probably making a larger contribution to the game already.
  11. I'm perfectly fine spending cartel coins on character slots, transfers as well as all the fluff they might put in the store I just think that as a sub we are probably going to be making more of a significant contribution to the development of the game that we should not have to pay for new content on top of that unless its a real expansion not what should be your typical content patch labeled as an expansion because its a buzzword that makes it ok.
  12. The difference to me is that it does not make sense to me to pay a subscription if all I'm going to get out of it is access to Operations and unlimited flash points and war zones and have to pay for any content that follows. Your right that there are a lot of unknowns and I'll make my choice once there is more known as to what to comes but the constant flip flopping on the part of BioWare is at the very least unsettling. Its going to take more than buzz words like "expansion" to make me throw money around. Is it a lot of money? Probably not especially at $10 but just because it isn't a lot does not mean that you should just throw it away just because EA/BW needs it.
  13. This really sums it up for me. So although it makes me very nervous about the direction things may go I'm not going to pass judgement before there is something to actually pass judgement on. I don't blame people for being apprehensive though.
  14. It amazes me that people would would remotely defend having to pay for Makeb on top of being a subscriber, is there anything that will make you say enough is enough? oh its Star Wars and that would make you less of a true fan. Now I don't know what F2P would bring and plan to subscribe until it actually happens and make my decision then, but this is pretty unsettling. So IF this is true all my sub gets me is a stipend for cosmetics and such and unlimited access to FP, WZ, and OPS but I will be charged for anything beyond that as well as my subscription? That's a deal breaker for me, it makes the whole sub seem worthless and since I am sure they will grey out some characters and take away my bag space if I un-sub that pretty much kills the game. I like the game warts and all but for me that would be the enough is enough point and that would be a disappointing way for things to wind up after investing the time I have.
