  1. I don't think it works... 30% in combat should be noticeable but I'm failing to notice anything at all... Maybe it's just me, it would be nice if a dev verified it.
  2. Maybe you're looking for a bracket where everyone's gear is set at the same level no matter what they actually wear? Interesting idea, I'd be all for it but instead of creating a new bracket just apply the change to the existing war zones. I'm sure some people would be unhappy with it but I wouldn't mind it in the very least (I have 1360 expertise). I would like to also see all rewards removed from warzones, just PvP for the sake of it. It's supposed to be fun not a continuous grind for better items.
  3. Show me one successful F2P game. Right, you can't, there aren't any. Still if they start releasing content patches every month I may play, a content patch every 3 months, meh, boring.
  4. arsenal 1. How do you think your Mercenary spec is perceived by other classes? PVE - decent PVP - weak. I can do quite a bit of damage but then again so can other classes who don't require a full team to take care of them, very easy to shut down. 2. How do you perceive your own spec? Boring, it simply revolves around mashing a single key to get your tracer missile stacks and then waiting for a random 'proc' to use other abilities. It does have good spike damage but the defensive abilities are lacking as compared to other classes.
  5. I'm going to talk about the Arsenal spec here and ideas on how to improve it in PvP. First of all, the damage an arsenal mercenary can output is perfectly fine now and thank you for your recent changes. The only problem remains is that our defensive abilities (jet boost and rocket punch with a small knockback) simply don't work as, I think, they should. They generate too much resolve for one and also put attacking melee characters in advantageous situations where they can just leap back to you after jet boost is used. The ideas that improve PvP play for arsenal mercs follow: - jet boost grants a 5s buff to the mercenary, this buff will prevent anyone from leaping to or pulling the mercenary - jet boost generates less resolve - rocket punch (with knockback) generates no resolve and ignores resolve alas the jedi shadow/assassin knockdown I believe these changes would make the arsenal mercenary 'complete' and a fun class to play. Of course, I would love to see the class overhauled and would love to see the 'turret' mechanic removed from it altogether but that's another discussion!
  6. This heavy armour thing just irks me. My healer operative friend in recruit armour has the same damage reduction as me in full war hero (not talking expertise here). Heavy armour my ***.

  8. If they let go the people responsible for the direction of this MMO that may not be an entirely bad thing for the game. Voice overs (not a bad thing but the cost must have been huge, imagine how many interesting things they could have done for that money), legacy (also not a bad thing but really only for those who like having multiple characters for many of us it's just regurgitated content), failure in the PvP department, lack of response (just the generic 'soon', 'great plans'). Such potential wasted it seems, I love the game but I'm less and less inclined to log on, hopefully these position changes will bring something positive to the game, there is so much to learn from failures of games such as SWG, Conan (great music though!) and success of let's say DAoC and WoW I guess.
  9. It was written by a guy who was level 50, tank assassin and all in champion gear when everyone else was level 20ish. Many classes won't survive a single stun, none will survive two. You can't enjoy a full resolve bar ever simply because you'll be dead before it fills up, duh.
  10. They already have, imperial fleet used to have ~200 players on average, down to 110 last night, time between warzones is about 10 minutes now when it used to be nearly instant. This could be due to the fact that 1.2 is not very good for PvP minded folks and they decided to make alts, who knows!
  11. He says that the team discovered that SWTOR had a huge PvP community and has since "turned a huge amount of resources" to developing more content for that side of the game. Yup, I'm seeing this every day.
  12. I'm not seeing any damage issues myself but my survivability took a serious nose dive. The class either doesn't do enough damage for the lack of defense it has, its defense is just bad or other classes do too much. I can be very dangerous when left alone but once I'm rushed by a melee class I'm pretty much toast. They know it so I get leaped at a lot, which is another problem, range is where I should be but there really is no way to stay at range with all the leaps, sprints and pulls. You can make the class viable but you need very good team support to stay up while there are so many other classes that do just fine without any team support whatsoever. I'm not sure what exactly happened in 1.2 but the amount of time required to bring me down to 0 leaves no room for any strategy on my part. There are issues with the mercenary pyrotech spec also. I assume it's supposed to give you the ability to remain mobile and do your damage that way but the pyrotech also requires powershot/unload to proc your railshot which brings you back to the turret mechanic and being stationary. So there are defintely problems with the class as it is and it really needs to be looked at.

This is the most mind numbing spec in the entire game and yet I play it for two simple reasons: - bounty hunter - two blasters I was hoping that in 1.2 Bioware would adjust the class because it really is pretty damn boring but still the only viable spec for a DPS merc. Yes, you can do well as a pyrotech but really why not just play a powertech where the synergy is much better and so is the mobility (they nerfed powershot too by the way, if you go full pyrotech you're looking at 2.0s cast time for powershot!). So the point is, instead of adjusting the class, making it more interesting they just gut it because it will make the boring 'rotation' less boring. Some guy makes an appearance on the forums claiming he wants to preserve the DPS of the class, the next day heatseaker damage gets a "fix" which simply nerfs the ability and makes it hit just slightly more than the already nerfed tracer missile. There are many great classes to play in this game, great utility and plenty of cool buttons to push, unfortunately the mercenary is not one of them. How about owning up to your mistakes Bioware and adjusting this class, and really adjusting it, give it utility, make it fun and stay away from your idea of boring 'rotations'.

    1.2 pvp - class roles

    Most MMOs follow a simple model: rogue > caster caster > tank tank > rogue Here, these roles are not clearly defined, you get classes with powerful defensive abilites who can do massive amounts of damage, everyone else drops in a matter of seconds and it's no wonder tank groups rule the battlefield.

    Fix Resolve

    I belive the resolve system is broken somewhere, I have been stunned right after coming out of a stun. Perhaps some stuns don't generate as much 'resolve' as they should? Whatever it is, the system is broken, there is too much CC flying left and right. You really don't want to duplicate the warhammer fighting style but that's exactly what you did...
  16. In my 56 valour levels I haven't achieved a level 5k crit, I must be terrible And the difference between heavy and medium armour is .... 5%, not that you rock/lightning spammers care anyway. Light vs heavy is 10%, big deal, your bubble is worth more than my heavy armour. Interestingly enough, completely naked you have 10% damage resistance, that one cracked me up big time.

  18. I happen to play this class and this tracer missile spam is just ... boring. It also happens to be the only viable line for a DPS bounty hunter unfortunately. I would love to see some changes to this before I wear out my TRACER MISSILE button.
