  1. OMG! Either respond to the query or don't. Pointing out its been discussed before and chastising someone because they didn't see previous posts (mostly because the search engine blows and most people don't spend 8 hours a day on the forums) is both tactless and pointless. You are under no obligation to read posts or respond to them. If you can't just answer the question without being a jerk about it then don't answer at all.
  2. True enough but I don't put up with this. Maybe other tanks do. When DPS pulls once I chalk it up to being unintentional. If it happens again I simply drop group. And if anyone wants to give abuse they've got 30 seconds while the clock counts down after I've dropped group. I play the game for fun and refuse to deal with jerks. That sucks for the others in the group that weren't being jerks but I'm willing to live with that. In this case yes, it's about me.
  3. The underlined part above is what fascinates me and that's because I can't fathom why people continue to defend SWG, vehemently defend SWG. There are multiple reasons why the game failed and failed hard. If SWG were all that great it would still be the powerhouse today that nostalgia seems to hold for some people. Having some great elements does not make a great game. SWG went down the tubes because it was in no way, shape or form a great game or even a mediocre one. No amount of nostalgic defense will change that.
  4. Lets for the moment assume Bioware has no plan to prevent what you're describing (although I'm betting they do). How exactly does this effect you? Powerlevelers only hurt themselves by rushing through content and then whinning that there's nothing to do. For myself, if anyone wants to do as you describe they can have at it.
  5. So, according to the underlined sentence in your umm, manifesto, EA/Bioware should remain silent given that any answer provided may cause you to leave but silence means you stay. Good plan. You have them by the @#$&!
  6. The fact is that the story part of this game is really the ONLY thing that distinguishes it from other MMO's. If one is not interested in the story portion of this game I'd say that there are other MMO's that are probably better suited to you becasue those other MMO's have other things that they do better than SWTOR.
  7. Like, this isn't a problem now? In a game that can be (and often is) leveled solo there's no learning curve for this so called "how to play" their class. Players can and do use a variety of methods including those that involve weird gear choices, novel specs etc. This would not be any different with the ability to change AC. Having said that, I'm not supporting or advocating the option to change AC. I'm simply pointing out that the argument that people need to level as a particular AC to 'learn' it is not reality.
  8. This would have to be about the only thing that has gone according to plan then.
  9. The sense of entitlement is strong with this group.
  10. Right, because you have a shinny new rig that can't possibly be the problem.............. Oh, and nice lashing out with a disparaging and childish reference to "You're the kind of people....." Tells us everything we need to know about you that's for sure.
  11. Wow, this is quite a rant. I'm thinking SWTOR isn't for you. Much luck with Elder Scrolls.
  12. So, bottomline SWTOR doesn't meet your expectations but some other MMO's do. Then the solution is simple, go play those other games. Nothing to see here, move along.
  13. Agree but to the non-causal or the casual haters, 2 million credits is the chump change that allows them to feel superior becasue they can (and do) play the game 12 hours a day so their concept of wealth is a different animal.
  14. You shouldn't have to but have you restarted your machine after patching? I've had this problem before and for some reason after a system restart the game loaded normally. EDIT: Or did I misunderstand and you can't even get the patch to download?
  15. I'm gonna quote this guy for leading the way in how to make friends and influence people. My home server is Harbinger. I wanted to play a sith assassin tank but had no character slots on Harbinger so started a new toon on Jedi Covenant. What is my point? The mention in this guys diatribe about money. I did all the side quests, the planetary bonus series etc. I loved the leveling speed but double exp doesn't mean double money and I was constantly broke. Without the monetary support of previously leveled toons, this can be a problem. That is my only issue with double exp weekends and it's a small quibble at that. I still enjoyed, will enjoy them.
  16. Really?! Thanks! None of the rest of us were clever enough to figure this out. Thank goodness you were around to lay it out for us. I love being around smart people that way I don't have to be. Arrogance FTW.
  17. Could be any number of causes unfortunately. I'm assuming this only happens with SWTOR and no other applications? If that is the case it's most likely a graphics card/graphics driver issue. Beyond that, without seeing you setup etc. there's no way to be sure what the fix is. You can try different game settings to see if that helps. You already said you had updated graphics drivers and are probably running directx 9? If you're running Directx 10 you might try rolling that back to 9 as I don't believe SWTOR supports 10. That's all that I can think of.
  18. If it was a joke it would be funny but you don't sound amused.
  19. This and take armor off. You can make this game as difficult as you want it. I personally have no interest in mandating that for everyone.
  20. I don't mind a challenge but this would just be painful. Push forward all you masochists out there, good luck!
  21. Hmm, so the person you were responding to has to produce evidence instead of just their opinion but you don't............okie, dokie. I'll agree that the CM is the focus of the game for EA/Bioware now but I'll disagree that the CM is the scource of all the "cool" stuff in the game. CM items are all fluff that don't effect gameplay (sans things like exp booster items that enhance leveling speed). If fluff is all that important to you maybe SWTOR isn't for you?
  22. This has to be a troll. Nobody is actually this clueless.
  23. Sadly, most people (including those playing this game) will not understand your reference because they don't know who Kim Jong-un is and know less than nothing about current events involving him.
  24. Indeed. That's the most impressive thing about this post. How did the OP put that together without going blind? Whether you agree or disagree, when people have nothing to go on but written text they will judge you by your writing skill. Spelling, grammar and punctuation are your friends in this.
