  1. I used as many as I could to get some purple boxes but after that there is not much use for the left overs. I would like to convert them either for other comms or simply for credits or mats or something.
  2. I think it would be cool if they did boot you out, and then your game takes a different path back to 'switch teams' to the Imperials. Also could happen in the opposite direction too. Could happen at set cross over points that then tie into the opposite sides story. But anyways .. it is the way it is now ... unfortunately
  3. + Support At the moment I am trying to use both the next target tab to get my enemy but where its not working I revert back to the equally inaccurate mouse targetting. Both are hit and miss so can make it hard to quickly get the right target. At least I think that everyone is in the same boat so its more frustrating than a direct disadantage if you get what I mean. Like some of the suggestions and think they would enhance the game. Cheers

    Huttball Tie

I think a Tie result would be ideal .. and simply split the rewards down the middle equally to both teams. Same for Voidstar, if we both get to the same door then it should be a tie. Every match I have played where its a Tie I seem to loose to Imps for what ever game mechanic reason.
  5. I didnt know it wasnt meant to allow stunned players to receive the ball! I got unhappy not long back for a player passing it to me when I was stunned ... was cursing under my breath at my team mate since I got dropped within a few seconds after. Could it be that they selected the target to pass before I was stunned though .. so the pass was in progress as such and got around the passing rule?
  6. I havent been doing a lot of crafting in previous weeks, but I had the same kind of issues post 1.2 patch as well. I think about a million credits sunk into missions and reverse engineering stuff and got some upgrades but was very slow going and didnt see a lot of crit missions coming back either. I assumed this was by design and was meant to be a long term goal to max this all out. From what I understood of the changes now that it is easier to level up your crafting .. but sounds like it might not be working as expected. Well, I found other things to put my credits into so reverted my crafting back to just doing requests or specific items for myself or companions with just a few missions here and there. My crafting was with Artifice by the way so may be something across all crafting professions.
  7. I provided some feedback on this under a separate post: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=385041 My thoughts .... with a few updates.... 1- I cannot seem to independantly customise the scale of the full map window. I can adjust it via the overall scale slider but to get to a smaller window as I want it makes the text and other elements too small. Also you can set the side parts of the map to go invisible yet the size of the window remains so I cannot push this further to the side of the screen. 2- No hide options for the lock button or the minimise to one quickslot button. I dont use hotkeys for my spells and find sometimes in heat of battle I click these buttons by accident as they are very close to the quickslot buttons themselves. 3- More quickslots bars, more buttons.. I am sure this has been requested before. I am simply out of buttons. Even where I am full but have most things in slots, I am limited to the combinations I can put these in as I have only 2 rows close. UI allows me to move the side bars closer which is really good though but 2-4 extra bars would be ideal. Give us mouse clicker types some flexibility. 4- Make empty slots transparent. An option to hide the empty slots from the UI rather than showing the empty space. 5- More adaptability for UI elements, more options to customise.. By this I mean some items are designed at the moemnt to be the top or side or bottom elements. If I move these sometimes they appear out of place as they are visually designed to be in a certain spot. I see there are a few items like the minimap that can be changed but it would be great to have more options available to change how/where pop outs happen or how the element is displayed. Again to give some great flexibility. 6- Colour selections Not a necessary change but would be nice to choose from a series of colours for 'background'. Personally I would love a black one but would be nice for my other characters to be ablet to change. May I would want a red for my Sith pureblood, or green for my Twi'lek etc. 7- Show full party/ops group and mock UI to help customise accurately. Its hard to determine currently without being in a full group where all the items may appear. With some UI tools in other games, you could click an option to see a mockup of the elements as the would appear, show cooldown timers in action or other in action components. This would be very helpful to cut down customisation times. A picture says a 1000 words as they say... 8- Change fonts A few selections that may suit those who want really small size fonts, or to minimise the text on screen. Different styles from functional to more designer fonts .. maybe a selection of 10 or so would be great to polish of the UI customisation. 9- Grouping function to move/resize simular elements together. The party members for example, or the target mob and bars come to mind. You can resize and move individually but would be handy if you could group them and resize/move together (then can refine individually as needed). Again I see this as a timesaver, but would also allow quicker changes on the fly if needed. 10- Resize buffs/debuffs I find these really hard to notice at the best of times and would love to make these much bigger on my UI. Better notifications would be handy on screen too. 11- Reshape info windows. For example, being able to make the Friends/Guild window longer to go from top to bottom of screen (so you can see more players without scrolling), or reshape/resize inventory bags to be 2 or 3 rows high but much wider across the screen. With us being able to reduce the size of these windows it gives us much more screen space to go smaller in scale but add more area to the screen. We should be able to take advantage of this .. 12- Fix the Novare Coast UI element to retain position. This one is getting really frustrating for me .. but is a known issue. 13- Chat Window enhancements These need to be added under the UI customisation and not be separate. Need to be able to lock chat windows and for those like me that use two chat windows, we need an option to remove the 'chat' box when we press enter. Ie we only need to have an entry field for the first screen, likewise for the other elements. Second chat box I only use for system messages and should be able to cut it down so it functions as such.
  8. I feel for ya mate! Some FPs I find even on a full server are hard to form. I assume this may be because they are harder or longer and players dont want to commit to them. Personally I like Kaon FP but I know a lot that dont. Players from my experience just grind the shorter, easier FPs. Dread the thought you might wipe and have to spend some credits on repairs LOL
  9. I enjoyed the event although post the event now I am getting frustrated that I continue to get infected. I did feel rushed to try to get through it all with the way the event was constructed due to the short timeframe. Needs more flexibility for those that cannot log on several hours a day to complete. More and regular events are needed, these could be smaller sub-stories or more larger stories like the plague. These could be random, infrequent events that require you to explore to find them .. some that may come on and off again depending on the day or week etc .. but allow you to resume it next time it procs. I really feel that events are going to add a lot to the community but I still see a priority to bring the static lifeless SWTOR world to life first ... seats, socialising areas, random NPC events, random quests or converstations, gambling, subgames, changing areas over time, dueling areas, way to watch warzones via comm screens etc etc all needed to give you things to explore and enjoy. If we only have limited events as priority content to bring the worlds to life then the 'feel' of the universe will remain the same - lifeless and dull...
  10. Mustafar, Kashyyk would be cool. Regrettably I think any worlds that are water based will not make the cut since Jedi's can't swim, but if this was changed would love Naboo or that world that the Clones were created on (whatever that was called again).
  11. Skill rotations, or should I say better use to maximise your skills dps can make a difference and separates an average player from a top player. Generally myself when I get stuck with such an issue I try to chat or compare my char to those that are performing better. It can give an indication if your stats are balanced differently or if its simply a gear difference causing the extra dps. Most players will be helpful if you ask them I think the surge suggestion is a good one as this will spike your damage but may be a matter of trying some different mod combinations to refine your setup. Its not always important to have a huge one-hitter though, so your top crit may be less than seen on that video but in a real match you may still win as you have better sustained dps from willpower/power stats (or even crit more often).
  12. I hear ya! Its the way society is going, regrettably most cannot reason/discuss/consider different points of view and are unwilling to change their stance - they know what they know and everything else is wrong. Its the attitude that I am right and you are wrong .. there is no inbetween. Its sad really... At the end of the day I just hope Bioware is not as black and white as responses from ignorant people in the forums and that constructive comments and suggestions are noted. We don't really need to convince the players, just Bioware that there is an issue.
  13. I came across this last night. The same operative in about 4 games in a row got, I think only a couple of deaths across all games. Couple of the games no deaths at all. I thought I would take up the challenge and teach this Operative about the power of the force ... big mistake. 3-5 hits and dead! every time without me getting more than 1 hit on him back. Spent two matches just chasing him down cause it made me so agro LOL but despite any tactic I tried it was stun ... mega hit ... mega hit ... (I get out of stun) ... stun him back .. gets out and stuns me again .. then final hit and dead. I am a Shadow tank, with decent defense and ok dps but I was cut through like butter. The hits were over 4k each, so the first two hits reduced my health below half in most attempts while I was still stunned. Then when I finally got out of the stun, and hit him for about 5% dmg, he has got another hit in and stunned agian ... it was also insta-death if he was with friends. This was one of the several odd things I saw in warzones last night, also seeing players seemingly jump around causing players to loose target and also constantly running even with the huttball. I know there are hacks but I had never seen them, can only assume this is what they are talking about or there was simply something glitching out last night. These things continue to ruin warzones ..
  14. Regrettably the first response is really the only way to go, just will cost you 200k+ for the gear and you will still be romped by others. The privelige of playing a warzone these days Even with it, with the changes in 1.2 it is still a big grind and not much fun to play until you get all your gear. I say that as I assume its gets better (and more fun!) once you get your WH gear cause right now the imbalances in gear/factions means most games are very one sided. Its great to hear some are getting this in 3 days but myself, I have been at it for a few weeks now and about half way to the full set but perhaps that is to be expected with 10-20% win rate our faction has. I still find many players that are untouchable despite having 800 or so Expertise now, but atleast I get a few damage points against them. There are many threads on it but really hope they sort out this imbalance and remove Expertise from warzones (or atleast provide us an option to queue in Expertise free warzones or ranked Expertise warzones based on your Expertise level). Good luck!
  15. We might have to agree to disagree ... lol I did assume you do both as most players do anyways, although each may prefer one over the other. I am sure PVE gear will offer better performance in FP/OPs, but was just pointing out its not really needed as it is possible to complete these with PVP gear. Its not the case the other way around though from my experience. I have both sets too, but last few runs I havent bothered to change back to PVE since we are finding it easy enough to get through the instance. When we move to Hard mode OPs that may be a different kettle of fish
  16. With current gear setup I would have to disagree. You can simply buy the Recruit set and do Heroic FPs successfully .. so essentially just walk into PVE and start near the top. If you are skilled you could probabily do Storymode OPs in the same gear! Right now, even in some Heroic FP gear on in a PVP match you are pretty much useless against anyone with PVP Expertise gear. If PVE player does put in time in grinding for gear, it should be viable for both. Likewise, those that grind PVP gear should also have the ability to be viable for both. Neither character progress should have such a distinct advantage as PVP gear has right now. This bias needs to be removed and balanced back out so you as a PVPer are not screwed over yet also those that are mainly PVEers are not either.
  17. I think you have summarised a lot of the main issues being experienced currently. Primarily for me its the Expertise changes in PVP that have really reduced the fun. Legacy .. well yeah it was talked up a fair bit yet turned out to be pretty basic at this point. The graph for your tree is limited in functionality as is the relationships you can choose between your characters. I would disagree some what on the game not running well on any machine. The game runs like a dream for me and I dont have a super spec PC but appreciate those on lower end machines have been having issues. Beign DX9 or DX11 from my eyes doesnt result in a massive change in graphics improvments... the changes are generally minor so this isnt a big concern. I have also noticed that graphic drivers and hardware configs seem to be a main cause of pain. I do hope they look at improving these points + more in upcoming patches. Sorry to see another fall to unsub, but better to use your money on something you enjoy .. and if you arent having fun playing the game then you have made the right decision. Just hope Bioware notes these type of concerns to improve their game .. just hope they can do it before the momentum is gone...
  18. Yeah we don't want to make it unfair for PVP'ers and just change balance to favor PVE'ers .. that would only happen if they removed Expertise and did nothing else to rebalance. I still think PVP should have an advantage if they have grinded the better gear, but this margin should be smaller so PVE players can still compete. If they removed Expertise, and rebalanced the items you can get then concerns like this would be negated. Both PVP and PVE would have gear progression but both could compete in either game arena to equal extent. Different gear would still come from PVP, that may give equal level but different stat combos so would still have advantages to grind both paths if you wanted and not allow either to be used to fast track you to the top of the tree so to speak.
  19. I didnt even know such a thing existed! I would agree players caught using such cheats should be permanently banned from the game and their characters deleted or as Bioware wants to keep their $$ to just block them from all Warzones perhaps... I did think that the Jedi Sentinel speed buff does stack with other speed boosts but is generally only for a short period, but I have noticed players getting goals in Huttball for example almost before I can get to the ball. I assumed they were also using the grab/pulls etc to prop them forward plus some speed boosts from skills. How is it even possible to change your speed?
  20. It is only necessary due to the current game design. The argument is that this is poor design and should be changed. I agree. No we wont stop complaining till we have a balanced game and your nut up or shut up comments add nothing to the argument. Its not the cost or effort in getting the gear thats the real issue here, its the total imbalance it causes to the matches. So much so, players are just leaving warzones now rather than spending 10mins getting romped. The amount of matches you need to grind simply to get average gear to compete is too high resulting in too many matches where you simply have no fun. If PVP system is working so well with Expertise then why does is this issue growing?? Why have there been so many threads on this topic and so many unhappy PVP players?? Glad u are happy with the design, but many of us are not.
  21. I would estimate maybe 10-20% wins as Republic player. On my server its a rare case that we have players who can compete with the WH spec Imps that ravage us and also rarer to have a healer present. Imps often have 2 or 3 healers making their team close to untouchable! Generally taking 10-15mins per match. Looking at the responses seems to be a clear swing between those who win all the time and those that loose all the time, with a few on servers that seem more balanced.
  22. I never left a warzone prior to hitting L50. Even though you win and loose some, you can still have fun and contribute to the match in most cases. Since hitting L50 and seeing the huge difference in inbalance resulting from the gear vs gear system in place, I have started leaving warzones. Personally, I will still try it out for a while to see if we have a decent match but as soon as I find I am not able to kill anyone or get rolled in a few seconds to death then I consider that no fun and I leave. Win or loose isnt the main issue as you can get reasonable rewards in loosing, but if I am simply unable to compete with the opposition then where is the fun in that? A penalty for deserters will not help the issue, all it would mean for me is that I don't queue again for an extended period and I do something else or as the previous post suggested to just sit it out till the match is over but go watch TV or browse the web etc. People leaving the warzones will not be an issue if there was better balance in the matches. People having fun will not leave and putting a 'law' in place to address this doesnt address the root cause of the issues with PVP. My view on this is they need to remove Expertise, rebalance the items between PVE and PVP and address the CC issues around the Resolve system so players arent feeling like its a waste of time to say and fight.
  23. Well written post that raises some valid concerns. I did enjoy the stories as well in SWTOR initially but working through 2nd, 3rd, 4th characters now it is becoming repedative and find myself spacebarring through. Most character progressions follow the same story and planet progression from what I can see just with a different twist. My two higher level characters being a Sage and Shadow highlight this well. The game design seems to be as such that a template was made for progression where each class and the same template was used for all the stories - this results in some of the encounters being rather generic. Not independant or individual stories in my view. Other than that, I find some of the dialogue really geared for younger audiences where I would like to see some grittier, harder dialogue and some more variety in the responses we get to choose. I find that dalies are a cheap & quick way of adding content to the game, but personally I do not like these and struggle to do them from a motivational viewpoint. Dailies simply start feeling like I have a second job in SWTOR. If this is the direction that Bioware want to take then I see myself not lasting too long as a subscriber. I dont have much interest in grinding the same missions over and over to get xx tokens so I can get xx item. More story is needed and at L50 the lower quests we havent completed should be upgraded to L50 to encourage us to go back to the planets again. Black Hole was probabily the most disappointing addition to date. The area was tiny, structured soley around the quest givers and locations and lacked any creative spark at all. I stayed for about 15mins and did my quests then left ... havent been back since... I also find the direction of the content to be a bit disappointing, and this for me is hard to put in words, but it just doesnt feel 'Star War-sy' enough for me. The game touted epic Star Wars storylines and adventures, and there are elements of this in the class stories but overall seemed bland - a lot of the characters I just didnt relate with or find engaging. Perhaps this is just due to the fact they needed to add so much content to appease the players, but my hope is that new content will be more refined and epic in nature. I really hope they can poach some writers from Clone Wars series or something to really bring some creativity to new content. Some of the things I am seeing in the TV series are simply awesome, engaging stories with characters you love and loath. THIS is needed badly in SWTOR.
  24. Hey mate, just a couple of suggestions... although in answer to your question .. yes this should run the game well. I have low specs and still get good frames. - You don't need that much RAM, seriously 8Gb of good fast RAM will be more than sufficient to run everything these days. - Upgrade to a standalone sound card rather than onboard. It will improve frame rates slightly and give you much better quality output and enviromental effects. ASUS or Creative are good options. - Wattage wise I think you would want atleast ~800watts, but just as important to get a top quality PSU not the entry level options. It will be money well spent and often overlooked in builds. Not sure whats a good choice brand wise here at the moment?? - Won't need the Hard Drive cooling fan, SSDs run pretty cool already and provide no real boost. - Second SSD in raid with primary could be an option as another upgrade... or if running game off HDD then use it as a cache drive on it. - Case selection, choice of brands, graphic cards etc .. everyone has their own preferences but I won't comment there. Hope it helps.
  25. OH that sounds like the best solution .. sounds like you might be part of the PVP design team huh? You know that there could be other solutions to encourage players to play PVP right? I can handle spending the credits, I can handle time spent for progression but I cannot handle the biased, uneven playfield that Expertise results in. It is clearly a poor solution. Well at the moment atleast Heroics are some fun even though they are super easy to finish even with the basic Recuit gear LOL. Same cannot be said for the warzones.
