I like this game, and I didn't care much for WoW. I believe both games, are good in their own ways. I mean, WoW caters to kind of player that likes games like WoW. SWTORO caters to a completely different demographic, yet somehow WoW players have come here (presumably hoping to find a game that will replace WoW finally), and to their dismay find a completely different kind of game than they expected. I think that's why you're seeing all these "I just unsubbed" posts as if they represent the majority of the player base or something. I just rolled a Jedi Knight to level 10 and I am loving the combat with this character.

I have to agree that you probably need to clean the dust out of your system and/or replace or upgrade your cooling fans. Its probably overheating in just those two areas because they are more graphically intense, require more graphics/processing power to display or implement than other areas of the game. It could be just enough to push your system over the edge. You can't blame a game for causing your system to overheat, it just doesn't work that way. Have you tried lowering the graphics settings in the game to see if that resolves it? Give it a whirl will ya?

Does anyone find it odd that instead of landing your ship first and then exiting, you have to click on the ship exit and then it shows a landing cutscene? I think the developers weren't thinking that little bit through during the design process. Very poorly executed. I know, it's a minor thing, but it's the little things that add up over time that can make or break a game. Not say this will, but I think it would be good to change this.

I wish all mmos were story driven like this one. I used to hate it when I played EQ2 and wanted to read every quest and my group mates hated to wait for me to read them all. Well now they will just have to. I now have my revenge, heh.

What? Give elitist a-hole know-it-all hardcore griefers another reason to hassle you about grouping and telling you how to play and calling you stupid because you don't know how to play, blah blah blah? No thanks. WoW became a not so fun game for that reason, I'd rather not have that here. I like that there is no combat log. Its bad enough we can "inspect" each other.

I have to say that perma damage would make the economy move. It would also add excitement because you have something to "lose" by dying. Why are people so afraid of this?

I think having 4 bars in the center would be better than 2 in the middle and one on each side. My monitor is fairly wide and it would be nice to shrink the bars down too, make the buttons smaller. Let me customize it, resize the buttons how I want them, and move the bars around where I want them and then lock them in place. That would be most helpful to me. Also, I just discovered my trainer has a seperate tab for all the advanced skills, I just happened to notice it because I wondered where all my shotgun skills and healing skills were. I know most people will call me stupid but if you don't know to ask, then you aren't gonna ask, or look for it.

If the space game is not at least as fleshed out as SWG, then it just won't feel like star wars to me. There's a way to do it, I just hope Bioware finds the way.

So has every other mmo ever made thats worth mentioning, namely WoW, Everquest 1 and 2, LotRO, Star Wars Galaxies, Eve Online... All of these mmo's were released with...wait for it... BUGS UP THE ***!!! So quit yer whining, and know that those of us who have been around mmo's long enough to know that every launch has tons of problems, are shaking our heads at all you pathetic whining weasels that think a product as complex as as an mmo has to be perfect for it to be any good. 2 years from now when this game is number one and WoW is a distant memory, guess what, there will still be whiners trolling the forums because they mailed a crafted item to an alt and it got lost. It happens. Get over it!

I am glad to see a positive thread for once on these forums. It seems that, for many people, the forums are a place to whine and troll about how bad a game is, not just this one, but any mmo ever made in existence. I have enjoyed my experience thusfar immensely. My smuggler is level 14 and I am just starting to learn how to assign quests to my companion to scavenge, underworld trading and crafting. I find times where I am deep in some cantina in black sun territory and I still have like a half an hour to wait for my quick travel command to cooldown, so I hang out and send my companion to work while I wait. I consider myself a casual player, not hardcore by any means, and I am not a pvp'er so the pve game so far is quite enjoyable for me. I have a fairly solid machine I've invested quite a lot of time and money into and I am rewarded with smooth running trouble free gaming most of the time. Perhaps the people having problems need to update their drivers, upgrade their hardware and learn how to turn off unnecessary programs that chew up your system resources. This is not an xbox game.

Did they disable search on the forums? I am looking for specific info on surnames. At what level can I pick a surname for my character and where do I need to go to do that. Sorry if this has been asked before but with no search function on the forums, I can't be blamed for it.
