  1. Yes, we PTS Crafters did our share of reporting on the PTS forums, but we were overwhelmed by the Class balancing whiners that we'd have to keep bumping our posts to keep them on the first page
  2. Wow, Necro thread indeed You're not going to get any "Official reply" regarding nvidia's 3D Vision cause it's not "Officially supported" (much like SLI isn't "Officially" supported, but it works... to some extent at least ) If you have a monitor 27 inches of larger, then you'll have a awesome experience playing Swtor in Stereoscopic 3D. I used to play in Stereoscopic 3D using nVidia's 3D surround ( 3 monitors - 2 GTX680's in SLI ) but after swapping the 2 GTX680 with one GTX Titan, I play in normal Surround vision (non-stereoscopic 3D version) 3D Vision works to a degree (if you don't mind the small glitches, like your mouse won't be in 3D making targeting difficult - and nameplates don't render in 3D - I turned off nameplates so no problem for me ), but be prepared for a LOT of problems you'll have to solve yourself ( because you won't get any answers from BW by asking for help on the customer support forums ) If your computer studders when playing normally, be prepared for it to studder twice as much playing it in 3D Vision Also, recommended is at least a Geforce GTX 560 ti or 660 ti, any card below it (although it would say it's supported) you'll be facing a 3D vision "Slide Show" (Also note, AMD/ATI Radeon cards can't run nvidia's 3D vision) [Edit] I found a thread regarding 3D Vision and Swtor Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion on the 3D Vision forums (link below) https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/540079/3d-vision/swtor-rise-of-the-hutt-cartel/
  3. Maybe you should run the repair tool? My Artificer is still level 50 and has a ALL of the Grade 28 Purple Hilts and 8 Enhancement schematics by RE'ing them. Had absolutely no trouble RE'ing them. I usually wait until off-peak hours (like 4am) when there are less than 50 people on fleet to do all my RE'ing.
  4. Wow, nice! Thanks Also, if you didn't know, you can download the MP3 files from the game right from this site http://www.swtor.com/info/news/news-article/20111201
  5. New to crafting? Grade 22 (Level 49) Prototype Augments take 21 minutes to craft each. Even if you managed to get a purple schematic, Good luck getting a hold of the purple mats (you need 4 per) cause they're SUPER RARE at the moment. I've got 6 accounts and 18 Slicers doing missions round the clock, and so far I've only managed to get 12 Purple mats, and I won't sell any until I get all my 55's geared
  6. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=6144167#post6144167 This
  7. If you tested on the PTS 2.0 you'd know and that's all that drops from missions... On the PTS 2.0, they were pages of these selling on the GTN for just above vendor sell prices
  8. You have to buy a Orange Modable (filled with mods) equipment and pull the Mods out, since there are no cybertech schematics for Reflex 14 Mods nor do they sell the Mods alone. I don't know about Republic side, but on the Imperial side, you can purchase a Level 33 Orange on the Taris Equipment Commendation Vendor ( I think Balmorra on the Republic side ) called "RD-15A Mercenary Greaves" for 12 Planetary Comms, which has a blue Reflex 14 mod ( Aim 24 Endurance 12 ) If I were you, I'd just get the Blue Agile Mod 14A ( Aim +22 Endurance +12 Power +3 ) or the Blue Nimble Mod 14A ( Aim +22 Endurance +12 Critical +3 ), cause that would be much cheaper Also Note: you can't pull this mod out and RE it to get a schematic .
  9. Yup. I guess they're "Working as Intended" as I wrote in the other thread http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=622670 I did intensive testing on the PTS 2.0 and the below is a small portion of my testing for UWT and Slicing during the PTS. (in Spoiler tags) After around the 20th missions, I converted everything to Excel format. Note: Mission times and Prices may have change on Live ( I have no idea, because I don't have early access ) UWT : Initial Yields and Yields after the 3/6 Patch Slicing : Initial Yields and Yields after the 3/6 Patch
  10. Working as Intended. I tested intensively on the PTS 2.0 (over 500 missions each) and the yields were poor for ALL 450 Harvesting missions, including the one-time only harvesting missions as well. We all reported our findings on the PTS forum. At one point, some harvesting missions only gave 1 component ( 2 on a Critical ) for moderate and abundant, and 2 components (3 on a Critical )for bountiful and rich missions ( Also, Bountiful and Rich missions had a high percentage to fail ) Send out 5 companions only to get 5 to 8 components, when you needed 4 components to craft a piece of gear I had to resort to RE'ing the "Free" purple gear in order to acquire the mass quantities of components needed to craft greens, RE them to get Blue schematics, RE more free purples to get more components, craft Blues, RE the blues to get the Purple schematics, and THAT took a load of time. Imagine if you were to Harvest (thru missions) to get all the components :
  11. You can always change it to one of these http://www.swtor.com/info/media/wallpaper just make sure it's the 1920 x 1080 one Download the wallpaper, change the file name to " LoadingScreen.jpg " (without the quotes) and replace the one in [Your Swtor folder ] > [swtor folder] > [retailclient folder] > [ LoadingScreens folder ]
  12. One fail in about 5-8 missions seems about right I guess this would be "working as intended" because it was like this on the PTS 2.0. I spent almost the whole time PTS was up for 2.0 testing doing harvesting missions and crafting ( I've got 6 accounts, 6 computers and a LOT of time on my hands ) and have a log of over 500 missions for each harvesting skill. Since I don't have early access, I'm hoping they fixed the yields of some of the harvesting missions.... because some Harvesting skills, the yields were pretty low... like a moderate and abundant would only yield 1 component, bountiful and rich missions would only yield 2 components (non-crit) and some of these missions took over an hour to complete....
  13. I agree that the new splash screen looks poor It looks like some artwork a kid drew (perhaps a child of an employee) and they said "Hey, let's use this!" kinda... I've been using my own splash screen for a while, and as long as it's a 1920 x 1080 Jpeg picture with the same file name ( LoadingScreen.jpg ), you'll be able to use it My splash screen has some "Adult" content ( I had a female model pose as a Sith and Jedi partially naked and used photoshop to mix in images from the game ), so posting the link here may be inappropriate, but you can use anything you like I believe it get's overwritten if you do a repair... not sure, so keep a backup of your favorate splash screen
  14. Playing Swtor from Japan. My download speed average was around 15MB/s on a 1GB/s (1000MB/s) Fiber Optics connection. I finished patching is less than 10 minutes. Did this on 6 separate desktop PC's. Download speed on a laptop on wifi was a LOT slower at around 2-3MB/s even though the wifi router is connected to the 1GB/s Fiber Optics line. Still finished patching in around 20 minutes. If the connection to your ISP is fine, then most likely there's a bottle-neck somewhere between your ISP and BW's ISP, which BW, nor BW's ISP has no control of. The best your can do is contact your ISP and send them the results of your Pathping and have them contact where ever the bottleneck is occurring.
  15. Dial-up connection? Mine finished in about 10 minutes.
  16. I'd have to disagree on the "Skip modable gear" part. If you do ALL the missions (class missions, side missions, get a group for the 4+ heroic missions) you will have more than enough commendations per planet to mod 3 to 4 pieces of your gear. (remember, you need to upgrade your companion's gear as well ) Modded Gear will always be superior, base stat-wise to green or blue gear rewards from mission or from drops, especially if you're a "Tank type" or your companion is one. The best thing to do is get a Chest piece and Leg piece and just keep updating the Armor/Mods/Enhancements of the two, and pick up normal non-modable gear for the rest. Credits are also easy to come by once you have your Starship, and know a proven method of gaining around 40-50k per hours just looting Slicing nodes and selling the junk to vendors. 1) Create a Republic toon: Smuggler (or Consular) 2) At Level 10, for your Advance class, choose Scoundrel (or Shadow) because only these two classes has "Stealth" 3) Learn Slicing and do slicing missions as well as slice nodes on Coruscant and get your Slicing level as high as you can. 4) Once you complete your class mission on Coruscant, you get your Starship. 5) Head directly to Alderaan 6) Run (and use Stealth if needed) to the Alde Fortress and pick up the flight path there as well as all the flight paths along the way. ( you will die a couple of times, even with Stealth, because essentially you're way below the level for Alderaan, and basically a "Aggro Magnet" ) 7) Slice all the nodes on the other side of the Alde Fortress in safety (where Imperial have missions) because ALL the NPC's there are friendly to you. 8) Option: Laugh at the Imperials fighting to get to a Slicing node that you can just walk up to
  17. Welcome to the "other" world Although a bit younger than you, I'm also retired as well But I've been playing various mmo's since my mid-Thirties, and have been "hooked" ever since. Since I don't have to work anymore, plus I'm not really the "social" type who goes out with my buddies, I can probably say that I'm a "full-time" gamer, because this is where I spend the greater part of my day In another world (mmo) long long time ago (about 10 years ago), I knew a couple in their 80's, I frequently played with (they were always grumbling about how their fingers used to hurt after a while, and would take frequent breaks ), so there are a quite a number of "old" people playing these games Hope you get "hooked" on mmos as well [edit] 2 useful places I visited when I had trouble on a mission (useful to read the comments) http://www.torhead.com/ http://db.darthhater.com/ If you're on the Begeren Colony server, I can help you out with gear if needed, for you and your companion
  18. Yup, the best speeder without doing any OPs is the "Kurtob Alliance" speeder received when you refer a friend and that friend Subs for 2 Months. All my characters have this speeder cause in addition to great Knock-off resistance, you get to travel at 110% with only Level 1 speeder piloting I personally wanted this speeder on all my accounts so I did this.. Account 1 --- Refer a Friend ---> Account 2 (monthly subscriber)--- Refer a Friend ---> Account 3 (monthly subscriber)--- Refer a Friend ---> Account 4 (monthly subscriber)--- Refer a Friend ---> Account 5 (purchased 2 month game card)--- Refer a Friend ---> Account 6 (purchased 2 month game card) Before, the only person who received the speeder was the person who sent the referral, but now it seems that the referred friend also receives the speeder as well (cause my account #6 has the speeder as well )
  19. There was once a player named "Mighty" something on my server when I was leveling up one of my alts. Since I mainly play Swtor as a crafter, I don't spend much time leveling up my alts, but every time I would log on this Alt, this "Mighty" something person would also be in the same zone leveling (very slow leveler, like 2 weeks per planet ) This person would spend hours on general chat asking for help on his class missions cause he couldn't kill the last boss mobs (From Drumond Kaas all the way up to Hoth) - and the usual response from everyone on chat would be like "Class missions are supposed to be completed solo" One day when I was on my Alt, this "Mighty" something guy was standing at a vendor nearby, so I took a peek at his gear. ( on Hoth around Mid 30's) To my surprise, he was still wearing a mix of greens and blues from his lower teens (Drumond Kaas/Balmorra level gear) !!!
  20. I might be one of the few people who plays the "Crafting" game 90% of the time while in this game ( since I've been playing since pre-launch and already leveled 10+ level 50's on both sides ) I've been making about a million credits per week on a constant basis since last summer crafting mid-level (late teens to late 30's) Purple Synthweave and Armormech Armors, Purple Armstech Weapons, Purple Biochem Implants, and Purple Augments from all three crafting skills. All I craft and sell are Purples (maybe a few blues left over from a RE) The Level 9 - 15 Purple Armors are mostly bought by Twinks for their toons who are starting PvP, but they don't sell that well and the profit margin is relatively small. The level 20's - Mid 30's Purple Armors sell the best, and I would usually craft between 5-10 each of Light, Medium and Heavy - Bracers, Belts, Gloves, Boots, Chest, Legs, various weapons and Implants per day, and they usually sell out before they expire on the GTM. I sell these anywhere between 12k-20k each (not too low and not too high) and the profit margin for these is around 10k-17k each, so that comes to about 200k-300k profit per day.
  21. I've got like 6 stacks of Nylasteel ( 99 x 6 ) on my Artstech The best way to get these is do Locked Box mission in Slicing which will sometimes get you various "Mission Discovery" items which will open up a mission higher than "Rich" ( sorry, forgot the term they use ) for a specific skill and level. Doing these "Mission Discovery" missions, in this case, "Mission Discovery: Investigation" will get you Nylasteel more frequently [Edit] I wanted to confirm that Nylasteel was from Mission Discovery: Investigation (Level 110), however it seems you can only get these from normal Level 10-16 missions since the "Mission Discovery: Investigation (Level 110) only give you Polyfibe My Investigator (Imperial side) might have just been lucky
  22. I have to agree with this person who agrees with that person I've been crafting since Pre-Launch, but I would hate it if someone came along and got to the level I am at in a short period of time (it took me over a year getting where I am at) Example : My Synthweaver's schematics - Light Armor Rares are Rare because they're rare They wouldn't be Rare if everyone and their mother had them.
  23. Bad Luck I made 30, level 47 blues items and got 4 purple schematics after the server maintenance.
  24. I didn't get to level an Alts cause I was too busy crafting items to sell on the GTN. Everything I put out on the GTN were selling like popcorn at a movie theater I haven't really counted how much I made, but in the 2 days, I've made upwards of about 20 million credits
  25. You want a more complete map? Well, you asked for it (This is just the UNDERSEA CABLES, no Land line cables) Submarine Cable Map Note: some of the lines are "Planned" lines, and some of them to and from Australia have been postponed due to insufficient funding.
