  1. I had the same thing, which made me wonder what people complained about. I had the convo and on initial fighting he teleports away into a corner and I just pwned his 2 adds with ease. After that you're not even still in a fight and can heal up and go beat the General.
  2. I noticed this aswell. Certain belts have a little battery pack on the back, that twists when moving too. Sadly this is tied to your computer graphics. If you run things on High, then this will not happen.
  3. Armorcrafters can make some with the same name, but they are only of blue quality.
  4. The teleport thing usually happen when someone cast an area stun and so on. Immediately as you hit Storm, then you are serverwise already in the their face. I notice this from mobs too, when mobs are running towards you, then they will turn around facing the target you are storming just as you hit the button.
  5. I think they all fit fine. Also, if you used Tanno a bit, then you would notice he does a classic suicide style detonation in the face of your enemies. His animation is simply taking out a detonator and then goes boom with the EMP blast. Even better when he shouts "I got something for ya!". Get the staff from the Belsavis daily for Yuun, and he damage increase alot. He's easy to manage when you're Vanguard and using Shield Spec. If you're lucky you can get an epic crafted staff from an Armstech in your guild. That damage increase is incredible.
  6. You're not crazy. I did exactly the same when I got him. I do tend to use Yuun now, but Forex works great in a dps suit.
  7. Because Tanno is gained at a much later level. As Vanguard Forex is quite easy to use. Just walk into groups rather than using Storm etc. I switched him to using dps when I got him and it worked quite well. Best soloution is simply binding his Flameguard to an easy key and have him use it on every pull. That way he will walk into melee from start.
  8. Sadly quite a bit ahead. You will get Tanno Vik in the end on Balmorra and Yuun in the end of Hoth.
  9. I completely agree. They are very well made and make you look like a towering ******.
  10. 1. Who's is your favorite? Yuun - Simply because healing is overrated as Vanguard when you play with Shield Spec. He can down mobs so fast it's easier to just recharge yourself a few times and storm the next group. Secondly Elara for the odd world champion boss you can find for the extra rewards, but that's also it. Sometimes I have used her as the main healer in a +4 heroic group because we couldn't find a healer. 2. What do you like about them? Yuun is melee dps. That's all really. It shines so well when you bunch mobs up as Vanguard and let him whack them around with his staff. 3. What are their uses? Awesomeness? Seriously...watch Yuun charging along your side when you Storm a random mob.
  11. Forex is terrible when you get him, but people fail to see his usage if you keep him up to date with gear. This becomes alot easier when all parts are moddable, which they all are when you gain them from mission rewards. Try asking a Cybertech in your guild if possible. The whole issue with Forex is that he keeps to range and pull in a single mob with the Tow Cable, but if you micro him to use the melee abilities you will see alot of improvement.
  12. The helmet is called: Powered Ultrachrome Upgrade Helmet I don't recall where it is from exactly, but it's a level 45 item. I believe it's from one of the heroics on Belsavis. A bit of research tells me it's the first heroic you find at the second speeder camp, where you enter a cave to find an item on a body.
  13. I skipped Jorgan ages ago and tried the different companions whenever I got them. I keep Yuum primary equipped, as he is quite good. He's squishy, but this is not a problem when you tank mobs yourself as Vanguard. As mentioned the difference between him and Jorgan is his fast attacks, compared to the slow truck hits from Jorgan. I don't keep track of his damage, but often see his normal strikes hit for about 1300. Rather impressive when he does that channeled melee strike much like Master Strikes on Jedis. Problem is he weaponry, as they are rare. I haven't seen a moddable version yet, but the lvl 50 reward from Belsavis increase his damage fairly much. And yes, it looks awesome when you Storm a mob and see Yuun flying just behind you
  14. I got some screenies from the Rifle thread on Vanguards. Check out this one of my trooper. It got the same design as the 2nd helm you linked. http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/121113684-4.jpg I don't remember the name of it, but it's moddable. I'll check up on it later.
  15. The Power Interceptor I posted previously have a high pitched sound. There are also some rifles around that have the old school Stormtrooper movie sounds. I do agree though that most rifles tend to have lowish firing sounds.
  16. Good question regarding the companion only weapon. I noticed this myself, as I used him for quite a while. Threw on a modded weapon so he was easier to upgrade, and found the gun to be sticking out of him. Suppose I'll grab a gun reward from him only the next time I find one to see if it works
  17. Slightly larger caliber on ships, so I doubt it. I only remember some rifles having rifle sounds from the movies, not like space fighters.
  18. I checked through the Commendation store on Voss. Got myself 3 of the Blaster Rifles so far. /edit - Got the last one now S-400 Stealth Saboteur: http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/121113684-4.jpg A-52 Rancor-X Carbine: http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/121113670-4.jpg E-313 Power Interceptor: http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/121113679-4.jpg N-12 Rampage-X Carbine: http://screenshot.xfire.com/s/121161534-4.jpg
  19. I suppose it depends on your goals. Unless you do equal level missions all your way to lvl 50 to get equal level mods for armor upgrading...suffice you already attained a full set at lower level, then Armormech for example make better armor for several levels. I found it to be quite useful during my leveling. Later on you can earn a decent amount of money perfecting trooper and smuggler armor at lvl 50 for epic recipes. Armormechs get more powerful recipes for bop armor themself, while everyone else will have to settle with questing their way to upgrades.
  20. This entirely depends on how you build your companions. Forex and Tanno are both great dps characters provided you care to get Forex in melee all the time for his short range abilities. Yuun does very high damage, but is far more squishy than any other companion. Keep guard on him doing long runs and this wont be an issue. As for upgrading them, then this ain't a hazzle as you likely have an Armstech in your guild able to help. You will see their damage increase tremendously with upgraded weapons. The heapload of trouble you mention is nothing I've experienced, unless you fight in a very weird terrain. Yuun will hardly ever have this issue as he got a Force Jump ability much like Jedis completely ignoring terrain. Tanno might have this issue, but I'd say you should stop engaging midair falling from a cliff then. As for the topic, then I always run around with Yuun. Elara for the odd massive hp Champion mob you can find on maps. Dps companions give you faster killing and less downtime compared to have Elara out, especially as Shield Spec.
  21. I went with Gut instead of Blast, as Gut can be used constantly. You get the hang of ammo regen pretty fast, so it's not terribly hard to fit inbetween of things. For pvp it's useful aswell to apply a 15s on capping targets before you die.
  22. It's called utility and adaption. If you wanna shoot stuff at ranged, then comply with Commando. You have far more options as Vanguard, which also make sense with the melee against bosses when you're a tank. It looks silly just doing random bursts in complete face to face distance. As for the the knife on the rifle, then there is a reason we don't use that in the military anymore. The butt of the rifle is always attached and needed. And if you wanna keep the whole fantasy part, then keep in mind a knife ain't gonna scratch much armor in this game. There is a reason to Gut only being a minor damage with bleed effect after all. Metal vs. metal armor = bad. Blunt force towards metal plating = ouch!
  23. Forex is indeed great for his Imperial death sentence yelling and so on. Does he works as dps? Most certainly. Jorgan is better vs. single targets, but he's seriously annoying vs. groups due to his slow attack speed. Pimping Forex with moddable items to keep him up in level cause him to tear enemies apart. His issue is the tow cable, but this is easily changed by simply walking into groups Storm does feel wasted for that purpose so far, but meh...you need him in the middle of the groups for his area damage anway. The reason why Forex is better to my experience is due to his high amount of Hammershots. This is great fast damage compared to the slowarsed shots from Jorgan. Just run into groups, use Pulse Cannon and Sticky. Anything surviving stands up for a few seconds either dying to your or Forex's Hammershots.
  24. Already been there. Got the usual respond thrown at me, that I had to return to the ship and try to reset the mission. This can't be done however, and the response also mentioned I should abandon and take the main mission...kinda hard when it's completed.
