Thats similar to my original hybrid with the retractable blade. I found that my FPS didn't allow me to use it effectively the missing "serrated blades" reduced their overall damage, hence I pushed more for the rocket punch as "flame surge" and "flame shield" in the Shield tech tree I think tries to encourage it more. This is usually my opener Explosive Dart / Neural Dart ->Jetpack->Rocket punch->rail shot->Flame burts->Rapid shots repeat where possible

So I respeced for the first time again after hitting 50 last week and move most of my skills back into the Shield tech tree rather than my Shield/Advanced hybrid. I have to say it is much better now with more stats pushed back to shielding, rocket punch (RP) and rail shot (RS). I was getting owned as a newbie 50 but now am seeing 2000 points of damage once and awhile with the RP and RS. The 10% shield chance is actually pretty nice too. Here is my current spec: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301RRRrbRrRgzZ0cZbc.1 Any recommendations? I'm thinking I should build up critical and surge now. Is that correct to increase my RP and RS damage?

They do mix it up a bit with a few surprise updates on other random nights OR postponing a day and moving it to another random day. Postponed twice last month and multiple random updates on Friday and Saturday nights. I really don't think they're discriminating.

Hey all, Just wondering what people are gearing Mako up with in terms on weapons. I'm just gearing her up with Med armour that I find around the place but any good weapons with cunning out there that people are using?

Ops are leaving?!? thank god! I have to admit it did take me awhile to figure out how to anti against a Op with a Powertech. Getting kicked in the balls, and flash banged with a anti CC that has such a long cool down is quite annoying. In PvE the cool down is fast, in PvP the cooldown is very slow. I had lvl 30 ops taking out my lvl 40 Powertech. It's still a close call sometimes even with my toon speced out with gear for my lvl but at least I can counter you. Now that you're all nerfed and leaving the game I just wont freak out as much when there is a Op running around.

yeh that was my main problem when I first started. I didn't update my geear as often as I should have. Keep Mako around with you as well if you have her as she'll heal you and keep you alive but around levels 1-7, make sure you update your gear.

Yeh I like it. Haven't tired it in PVP but I slam for one hit kills here and there for mobs. It is useful and useless at the same time. I should be able to slam what ever I want whenever, just hit me with a longer cool down.

I'd recommend gearing and buying up some lvl 50 PVP gear now while you're still under. I'm at lvl 44 and just started buy new lvl 50 PVP gear that I can't use. At least when I can I'll have some decent gear ready to go rather than getting my butt wiped like I use to.

Yes I would love an update on the new server and character transfers details. I don't mind if you guys say mid year. Just want to know the game plan really. I'm thinking about starting more characters but if there are going to be charges $$ then I'll wait to see how this new server goes.
