Somehow, I doubt that.
Even when my server was at light yesterday morning, there were still close to 100 people on Hutta.
Maybe he was playing on the republic side... after all didn't everyone roll Sith Empire??

These forums are going to get a lot lot worse as the next few days pass unless they change their strategy.
Have you ever baited an animal by withholding a reward or food just out of its reach over and over? How long does it take before the animal gets angry and bites you....

Everyone who got in yesterday finally went to bed and they never invited anyone else in to replace them.

If the advertisement says "preorder now you will get at least 1 day's early access" then there would be nothing wrong with it.
However, saying you will get "up to five days" when that is a blatant lie is misleading advertising.

personally I dont see any problem with bioware keeping the server numbers as low as possible to save money.
If they wanted to do this why not just sell less pre-orders with early access?
Why sell 2 million if they are only going to let 100,000 a day?
And what's going to happen at launch when all the rest want to join in on the one day...

As it happens that's exactly what I'm doing next week, I'm going away on a camping trip until the 27th to do some fishing and relaxing on the beach.

Because at the moment they are tricking people into thinking they *could* get 5 days early access when they can't really and the most they'll get is 2-3.
That's called misleading advertising.

If they were still selling pre-orders when the maximum early access people could get was 3 days, then the "up to 5 days" was a lie because it was impossible to get 5 days early access.
That, no matter how you look at it is misleading advertising.
And FYI here is the legal definition...
"To establish that an advertisement is false, a plaintiff must prove five things: (1) a false statement of fact has been made about the advertiser's own or another person's goods, services, or commercial activity; (2) the statement either deceives or has the potential to deceive a substantial portion of its targeted audience; (3) the deception is also likely to affect the purchasing decisions of its audience; (4) the advertising involves goods or services in interstate commerce; and (5) the deception has either resulted in or is likely to result in injury to the plaintiff. The most heavily weighed factor is the advertisement's potential to injure a customer. The injury is usually attributed to money the consumer lost through a purchase that would not have been made had the advertisement not been misleading. False statements can be defined in two ways: those that are false on their face and those that are implicitly false."
I would suggest that an advertisement for "up to 5 days early access" when it isn't possible to get more than 3 days would be considered false advertising under this definition.

If you skip all the voice chat you can power level pretty quickly just like any another MMO. In the last beta weekend I was out of the start zone at level 11 in under 2 hours played and although it slows down a little from there, I'm expecting to see legit level 50s fairly soon.

It's not a lie but it is misleading advertising.
I'm still in the boat that thinks that they have extended the early access by 2 days to ensure the majority of players do get their 5 days early access though.

Newsflash: Bioware has decided to go back to its roots, making single player RPG games. They are doing this by letting 1 player log onto a server at a time, to make sure each player finish a planet solo, so he/she will never meet another player.
Not entirely true. It appears there are three servers with 2 people playing on them.

They sent out TWO MILLION invites, less than half of those played.
So? Even if 1 million played the argument is still valid.
A query though, are the zones after the start zones instanced? I don't recall seeing multiple zones when I was in the last beta weekend... which was admittedly a lot smaller than the thanksgiving one.

Well I saw someone post they were level 20 when I went to work this morning, around 11 hours ago now. I imagine they'd be a lot higher than that now.

I think most of the people who have quit wow are the sort of people the wow community wanted to quit. Trade chat has certainly become a lot more civilized in the past few days.

Well they ended up having to merge the servers later. I think this is partially the reason they've done this, however I can't see how it's going to change anything in the grand scheme of things. All it's accomplishing right now is upsetting customers.
Yes but the reason Rift had to merge servers later had absolutely nothing to do with having enough servers to handle the early access rush, it was simply because the game was so average and people stopped playing it after a few weeks.

I'm still playing WoW... in fact right now I'm running some alts through LFR while waiting until my main raid starts tonight.
I will play both games though, WoW doesn't have enough content to keep me busy on weekends I normally only play it 2-3 nights a week.

It's pretty silly at the moment with all the servers showing as standard or light and no one else being let into the game.
Staggered launch is not the problem, its Bioware
